Downs Farm Granary is on a small livestock farm and is well secluded. Located in the village of Wye, five miles from Ashford, the detached house is full of character with its loft-style interiors and sophisticated contemporary touch. Downs Farm Granary features two bedrooms, one bathroom and an open plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The perfect accommodation for a group of four, the property guarantees a stay to remember in Kent with village amenities right on your doorstep.
The Space
Cosy and quiet, a converted historic farm building, retaining many of its original features. The living area has a seating area with a spacious corner sofa and a log burning fireplace. There's plenty of seating space for watching your favourite shows on the Smart TV in the living area.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a hob and oven for your home-cooked meals, a dishwasher, a microwave, a kettle, a fridge/freezer, and more!
The two bedrooms are situated on the first floor, easily accessible straight from the living area via a wooden staircase. The larger bedroom offers a comfortable double bed, while the second bedroom is a twin with a delightful cabin bed and separate single.
The bathroom is spacious - with a bath with power shower over, a WC and basin – with lovely views!
There is a garden shed where you can store your bikes.
Neighborhood
Wye is a really charming village that offers a quintessentially English escape, perfect for those seeking peace, natural beauty, and a touch of history. Surrounded by rolling hills, lush green fields, and ancient woodlands, Wye is a hidden gem in the heart of the Garden of England.
Wye is lined with beautiful timber-framed cottages, traditional pubs, and good local shops -including a Newsagents, Butchers, Bakery, and a Co-Op. There are also several Cafés – very popular for breakfasts, and a good Restaurant. Wye is a busy village with a Farmers’ Market around the village Green on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
The area surrounding Wye is lovely for walking and cycling. The village sits on the North Downs Way, a long-distance footpath that offers breathtaking views of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the South coast on a clear day! The famous Wye Crown, a hillside chalk carving is on the farm.
There are plenty of cycle paths, a particular favourite is the dedicated cycle path to Canterbury and then on the Crab & Winkle Way to Whitstable.
Getting Around
Wye is fairly unique as it has a train station that has a direct link to Canterbury and Ashford, with a quick change to the Kent coast or London.
Wye train station is about a 45 minute walk away.
While Wye offers a peaceful retreat, it is also ideally located for exploring the wider region. The historic city of Canterbury, with its magnificent cathedral and medieval architecture, is a short drive or train ride away. The charming coastal towns of Whitstable and Rye, known for their seafood and artistic communities, are also within easy reach.
If you're looking for a day in London, direct train services from Wye Station can take you to the capital in just over an hour. Direct services also operate to Canterbury and Ramsgate.
The Channel Tunnel terminal is about 20-minute drive away and the port of Dover is about a 30-minute drive.
All of London’s airports are within a couple of hours of Wye.

The keys to Downs Farm Granary are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to check-in.
Private on-site parking is available for two vehicles adjacent to Downs Farm Granary.
One well-behaved dog is welcome to stay at Downs Farm Granary per reservation.
