Located in a tranquil lane, this two-bedroom cottage boasts a sunlit private garden & a delightful courtyard. Offering a haven of serenity amidst the lively atmosphere of central Brighton, it's only a leisurely 10-min walk to the beach. There's a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms accommodating 4 guests, & a charming living room with a log burner and stripped wooden floors. Enjoy solitude in the freestanding bath or socialize with friends in the private garden or watch the Smart TV together.
The Space
Sleeping up to four guests, September Cottage has been lovingly restored and offers a charming, honest and rustic character blended seamlessly with modern comforts for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The cottage is arranged over two floors and interiors have been carefully crafted with stripped back floorboards and chalk walls complementing locally sourced and recycled antique furniture and textiles.
The cottage was built in the mid 1840's as part of the Cliftonville estate. The area now known as Clifton Hill was developed between the 1820's and the 1860's and is an outstanding conservation area with many stunning examples of Regency and Victorian architecture. Italianate villas with ironwork, balconies and verandahs sit alongside Victorian terraces, grand Crescents and pretty Regency squares.
The luminous modern kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay - there’s an electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge/ freezer, coffee machine and dishwasher and wooden worktop. There's plenty of cookware, glassware, crockery and cutlery for you to use during your stay. In addition to this we offer complimentary tea and coffee, salt and pepper and cooking oil - so please help yourself.
A cosy and relaxing room with a sofa a Smart TV, and comfortable arm chair that's the perfect spot for reading. For chilly nights there is a log burner with logs supplied for your use. The dining area has a table and chairs that comfortably seats 4 so this is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or drinks with family or friends.
Upstairs you’ll find two lovely bedrooms. The master bedroom benefits from a king sized bed with plenty storage for your personal belonging. In the cosy second bedroom you'll find 2 single beds. We also provide fresh white linen, towels and toiletries for every guest to use during their stay.

Cafe table and two chairs, bench seating, small barbecue create a beautifully calm outdoor space that you won't want to leave! Doors from the kitchen fold out onto the secluded courtyard and steps lead up to a private sunny garden enclosed with Sussex flint walls.

Within minutes of the cottage St Nicholas Rest gardens is an enclosed space popular for exercising dogs, and St Ann’s Wells Gardens is a popular park with winding pathways and ancient trees. It has a bowling green, tennis courts and a children’s play area.
Neighborhood
This house is in a quiet street in a Brighton conservation area, with striking Regency architecture and sea views from many streets. Moments from the sea, you can also stroll to many of Brighton's best cafes, shops and restaurants. Also near to a Waitrose supermarket.
Everything Brighton has to offer is easily accessible on foot: Seven Dials, Brighton Pier, the i360, Hove Lawns, Churchill Square for shopping, Brighton Museum, the Theatre Royal, Brighton Dome and the best restaurants in town! Here are just a few of our favourites for you to explore:
The Seafront to Kemptown: it is just a few minutes to the seafront and once there head east to Kemptown towards Madeira Drive along the beach.
Regency Hove and the seafront towards Hove lagoon: walking west towards Hove gives a different perspective of the seafront. Hove lawns are a hub of activity all the way through the year. From the cottage head south via any of roads towards the seafront and head west past the Regency squares. Once on the Hove promenade head west past beach huts and towards Rockwater - a hugely popular seafront venue. Further on you’ll find Hove Lagoon and the Big Beach Café.

There are a variety of small fishmonger pods that open along both Brighton and Hove beach selling fresh fish caught that day and FISH at Brighton and Newhaven Fish Sales is a wholesale and retail fish outlet based at Shoreham harbour (next to Hove Lagoon) is 2 ½ miles away selling high quality fish and shellfish direct from their boats
Wine and Beer
Seven Cellars at Seven Dials has a great selection of wine and craft beers. Organic wines, low sulphur wines and vegan wines are available. You can also re-use empty screw top bottles, re-fill and re-joice from their wine on tap station.

The Crescent – 6 Clifton Hill. Low-lit pub with log fires, wood floors and a spacious garden, serving Modern British dishes
The Hampton – 57 Upper North Street. Offers a warm and friendly welcome, craft beers and Indian street food.
The Windmill – 69 Upper North Street. Cosy sofas for some, a proper boozer for others, and good food from a varied menu.

Tookta’s Thai - A small and unpretentious thai café in a small Regency cottage serves curries and stir fries around the corner in Spring Street. It is really friendly and they will happily cater for milder or spicier versions of whatever they are selling. A hidden gem.
Bincho Yakitori - Bookings are advised at this very popular Japanese restaurant inspired by the back street Isakaya and drinking dens of downtown Tokyo. The atmosphere is bustling and vibrant and food centred around Yakitori grills.
Cin Cin - Cin Cin is an award winning Italian restaurant. There is one nearby on Western Road between Brunswick square and Palmeira Square. Seasonal small plates and aperitifs, handmade pastas are cooked for you while you sit by a unique and intimate counter around an open bar and kitchen.
The Little Fish Market - Creative fish and seafood dining in an unpretentious setting, The Little Fish Market is owned and managed by the Chef Duncan Ray and offers a set taster menu for a small number of diners each evening, the menu changing regularly with each dish featuring for around 4 to 6 weeks.
SUPERMARKET, PHARMACY & DR
- Waitrose is 5 minutes walk directly down Montpellier Street and at the bottom of Hampton Place, the car park and backdoor entrance is on the right
- Taj is opposite Waitrose on Western Road and sells everyday fresh produce to special ingredients from around the world
- A small Sainsburys is along from Waitrose on the Western road heading east.
- Ashton’s pharmacy is open every day until late and is based close by at Seven Dials at 98 Dyke Road.
- There is a Practice Plus Doctors surgery based at Brighton Station which has a walk-in service open 8am to 8pm seven days a week including bank holidays.
