The property is in an excellent location and centre of Brighton is a 15 min walk. The lack of parking is a problem and this reflects in my ‘value rating’. We parked nearer to Hove to avoid the extortionate local parking fees. The house is large but it’s NOT a 4 bedroom property. The 4th room is a box room at the end of the kitchen with a small sofa bed and next to a smelly bathroom. It’s not an attractive or comfortable room to sleep in. The listing should amend to 3 bedroom. The bathroom upstairs is fine but the toilet brush is old and stained. Change these for every guest please? They’re £1.99! The Hosting Co were professional and prompt in all dealings but I would ask? Is this someone’s home or a professional let? There was unopened mail on the mantelpiece. There were unlocked kitchen cupboards with wine in them….are they for the guests? There are lots of half eaten boxes of food etc but no complimentary milk in the fridge. I expect more for the price.

The house is in a wonderful location, central & quiet, very close to the sea and shops. It is spacious, with a fabulous kitchen and eating space. The outdoor deck (on the first floor) is ideal. The two bedrooms are large (though the third is the walk through to the deck, so not ideal for everyone). The lounge is lovely. The kitchen was well stocked & the appliances worked. Our problem was the main bathroom, or rather the Host's lack of adequate response to the bathroom problem. On arrival, we found the main toilet cistern lid turned upside down & the cistern empty (no flush). The cleaning team had clearly left it like this, so we expected the matter to be dealt with. I informed the Host, sending pictures. The Host responded quickly & positively, but did not resolve the problem, or make any real effort to do so during our stay (three nights). There's a downstairs toilet, so we were ok. But it detracted from our stay. The Host seems keen on guests' obligations, but less so on their own.
