Directions could have been clearer - location sent was 0.5 of mile from cottage at other end of village

Lovely cottage with nice garden. Great location. Helpful host. Great shower, two loos!. Nice decor.

Beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable

The shower and bath and plenty of hot water. Good WiFi do although no TV could watch programmes on our iPads. Noise of the road especially early in the morning. Lots of spiders the kind that hang in corners and on ceilings. Tight parking space.

The parking was great,off road and the key holder easy to use. The outside space was pretty and easy to access with plenty of seating. There was everything we needed without extra shopping for the first night ,like tea,coffee?milk and sugar and cooking,cleaning and dining equipment more than adequate in the kitchen. Nice and roomy cloakroom handy and lounge comfortable with great speaker. Bedrooms light and airy but would be cosy in winter with a little traffic noise but not too bad and hardly at night. Nothing to disturb a good night's sleep. Bathroom clean and bright with all facilities. Whole house clean and well kept and comfortable.

Should definitely be removed from advertising as needs deep clean. Fumigation. And pest control. New bathroom new microwave new everything. Adrianna the Host should be ashamed.how she has the audacity to ask for money for people to stay at this cottage is beyond belief. The Host did not answer our calls or texts. After a bad nights sleep and not just due to the noisy busy main road outside the property. We could not wait to leave the next morning we then had to find and payfor new accommodation for the rest of our vacation. All this spoilt our wedding anniversary Most disappointing. Don’t go !! Hope this house is removed from staycation advertisement so nobody else has to go through what we did.

Had a lovely stay at the white house. Would be happy to return and explore the area further.

Lovely property in a great location. Home is compact but has everything needed. Lovely decor and sun trap garden and a great base from which to explore the Peak District. Owners recommended some nice local walks, otherwise a car is needed to see and do things. Would stay again.

Lovely cottage. Tastefully decorated. Had everything I needed. Would return. Wensley is beautiful. Small suggestion: Opaque privacy film would be better on the bathroom window rather than the shutters to assist with the ventilation that is required.

What a beautiful home. We loved our stay at the White Cottage. The pictures don’t do it justice, it is truly wonderful. Decorated beautifully, lovely home comforts. Court yard garden was so pretty. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. Lots of board games kept us entertained every evening. Highly recommend

We loved the garden, and the wood burning stove. The cottage was very clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen lacked basic cooking stuff, the oven was not very clean and I didn't want to use the oven tray as it was very scratched. The dishwasher was temperamental, we struggled to get it to work. The beds were not very comfortable, I don't think we could have stayed for another night.

Nice cottage, cosy and perfect size for us. Good location as lots of great walks nearby. Kitchen was slightly under equipped - possibly would have struggled cooking for 4 people, and a bit dated. Log burner would have been a nice a touch, but all the wood was damp, including the ones left inside so couldn’t get the fire going. Overall, a pleasant stay. Thanks!

Overall it was alright but too expensive for what we got, the house was a lot smaller than shown in the photos. There were stains in places and the ladybirds seemed to like the window ledges in the bathroom and bedrooms it clearly hadn't been seen to recently as most of them were long dead, there were cobwebs in the kitchen so more proof it hadn't been cleaned recently. There was no tv but that wasn't a problem for us although I know it might be for others. The kitchen floor was dirty and the carpet in the living room had a sticky substance found in places.

We loved our stay at the White House. Very cosy and great location for walks. We particularly enjoyed the log burner! We didn't miss the TV, it was nice to be without to be honest - and the board games cupboard was a great idea. Some great pubs a short drive away too. We would highly recommend the white house and will hopefully be back again soon!

Lovely cottage in Wensley in a nice, quiet location . Lovely fire and welcoming bottle of wine and nibbles ! We went for the Chatsworth Christmas Market which didn’t disappoint . Cottage was clean, comfortable and easy to find with a number of local walks nearby . Matlock is also close for additional restaurants /pubs. Would recommend a stay here.

Very comfortable house, loved how was decorated, and enjoyed little garden. A good relaxing house to stay in. Not a problem that there was no TV, had good Wifi system. Hard at night to find the Key lock safe. Very small car parking space just off a very busy road on a hill.

What a beautiful little cottage. On arrival the key box was easy to find, key with a little torch attached for dark nights is a thoughtful touch. Entering there was a little tray with fresh ground coffee, tea, a bottle of wine and Pringles which the children loved, milk sachets were left in the fridge. Downstairs loo with washing machine and airer which we found useful as the weather was unfortunately rather autumnal and wet is placed just off the kitchen. Two lush comfy sofas with plenty of plush soft furnishings and much art on the walls to enjoy. The place had just enough interesting ornaments around to make it feel like home. A good selection of board games and cards, which we took full advantage whilst sat around the log fire. All in all a very tasteful well though out cosy cottage. After booking the hubby pointed out the lack of TV from other reviews which I hadn’t taken note of, you can maybe tell which family member uses the TV the most hehe. This was quite refreshing and not at all an issue for us, in fact quite the opposite, we talked and played games each night this made the break a more treasured time. We had taken a small TV and Amazon stick, this was only used twice to catchup on news by the hubby. We’d defiantly consider staying again if in the area without hesitation. We all had a wonderful relaxing family holiday, made extra special by the thoughtful touches around this place. We’ve stayed in many holiday homes, none of which have felt quite as homely as this one, you can tell much love was put into making this place special. Thank you for a lovely stay x The road noise could be distracting if you live on a quiet road like us, the cottage is on a main through road, which I hadn’t taken note of when booking, with new windows this won’t be noticed at all. Little things like making sure the cleaning team clean the fire glass for instance and have a double check over details before signing off. The kitchen cupboards could do with an organise. We hadn’t stayed before, so opened all kitchen cupboards to pack food away but found a lot were already used and some a little disorganised. We later found the cupboard dedicated for holiday makers to putting food in. In fairness I should point out that we are a family of four and stayed for four night, if it had been a weekend breaking we wouldn’t have need the extra cupboard space. House keeping need to double check the bedding and towels and replace any damaged ones, one of the singles had a ripped duvet cover, one of our towels had a small hole, easy to miss on a quick turn around but really shouldn’t have been. I appreciate damage happens when sending out to be laundered but standard checking practices when making up for new guests should pick up these things. Those small niggles said, we did have a wonderful, relaxing few days and would happily stay again if in the area. None of the small negatives had any affect on our break as there are so many positives of this holiday home x

Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und gut ausgestattet. Die direkte Lage an der Straße war leider sowohl tagsüber als auch in den Abend- und Morgenstunden zum Schlafen störend.

Wonderful cottage - very twee, with lovely little outdoor cottage garden. Exceptionally well equipped and loved all the lamps to get cosy on an evening with warm lighting. A perfect break, wish we had stayed longer. It was nice not having a TV for a change and having use of the games in the living room cupboard. Very enjoyable all round!

Beautiful house in convenient location No TV

We had a lovely and comfortable stay at the White House, it had everything we wanted and is in a stunning area with easy access to other towns.

It was very clean and had everything you needed for a family stay (a shame there wasn’t a television). Good location for where we wanted to go while we was there. The property should have a television.

The place was clean , tidy and cosy The views excellent. Nothing to not like
