The location- it was quiet and peaceful (apart from our 7 year old of course). The owner was friendly and our little girl fell in love with his beautiful dog! The beds/pillows were comfortable and the house was homely. Everywhere was clean and tidy. There were enough cooking equipment, bowls, cutlery, cups and glasses. Had all modern appliances including dishwasher, washer and dryer. Hot tub was warm, showers good pressure 👍  If we had to nitpick, only 3/7 jets in the hot tub worked but other than that it was amazing.

Gorgeous stay! Lovely, spacious and clean cottage with plenty of space for us all. Lots of information provided to us before check-in and during our stay. We will definitely return!

Upon arrival we were pleased with the Parlour. Instructions were great to locate the property and the manual was very useful. Perfect amount of space for a large group and a toddler, each room with an en suite which was ideal. However, we soon become disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. There was large amounts of black mould and grime in the bathrooms, stains on bedding and the cups, plates and cutlery had not been fully cleaned. We located mould in multiple pans and even after attempting to clean these ourselves the mould remained. I informed the cleaners as we left that we had purposely left these aside. Upon reading previous reviews, I can see this has previously been reported but the pans remain…  Overall we made the most of our stay and enjoyed our time but would have felt more comfortable if the property was clean.

The Parlour is a fabulous property with all the home comforts you could ever need. This was such a relief as a few members of our party became poorly while we were away and we spent the entirety of our stay in the accommodation! Despite the illness we had a lovely time celebrating my mother-in-laws 70th birthday thanks to all the facilities The Parlour had to offer

We had a great stay at this property while working locally. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well presented, with everything we needed for a longer work stay. Communication with the host was excellent throughout, and check-in/check-out was straightforward. The location was ideal for our work and we would happily stay here again.

This was a fantastic location and exactly as advertised. However, I felt the early check in fee payable to get in the property was a little on the high side and we didn’t have access to the hot tub for two of the three days due to it first not being turned on, followed by some repair work the following day which I wasn’t informed of prior to arriving. To be fair, the owners were apologetic and responsive to this but it did take the shine off our stay. They also helped out with the complaint to the agents host and stay. But sadly this is taking some time to get a resolved. Two weeks for a simple issue is a bit much.

A lovely weekend spent at The Parlour with family to celebrate a big birthday. The Parlour was very clean and beautifully decorated. Every room was well equipped and made our stay a pleasure. Would stay again.

We had a beautiful stay at the Parlour, super peaceful, the house flows nicely, it was immaculate,  spacious bedrooms and hot tub icing on the cake. Could benefit from a few more kitchen utensils. Nice to meet the owner who was extremely helpful with great recommendations. Would highly recommend this property well worth the value and perfect location if you want a rural escape to the country.

Well appointed, comfy beds, view from the hot tub is amazing.  Owner was really nice and friendly and the team had prewarmed the tub for us.  Lovely kitchen area and the upstairs room was really something special, with it's own ensuite and claw foot bath, with perfect views over the fields outside.  Only negative I can give is that there was a leak on the large windows near the roof. When the rain started in earnest, we were dealing with a large leak from the window dripping inside.   The owner come and checked in to tell us it was going to be fixed and apologised for the inconvenience. Not that it was really much of an inconvenience to us, but I can see damage starting and it would be a shame to see such a beautiful place lessened by this issue.   An extra teaspoon or 2 wouldn't go amiss.   I would still 100% return, because everything else was amazing. 

Nice out of the way place ample parking looks to be a good spot for stargazing but weather wasn’t with us and need to fix the sensors on outdoor lighting

Quiet, spacious, lovely- just what we wanted

Beautifully decorated ( high end ) and very spacious. Comfortable beds and sofas and excellent showers. Everything was clean, kitchen was well equipped.  Hot tub was fantastic!  Wi-fi on the TV was patchy so kids complained about buffering. But that's just a small thing and it wouldn't stop me from staying here again. 

Gorgeous high-end spacious property.

Location was perfect. So peaceful in the middle of stunning countryside. My grandson enjoyed playing with Oscar the owners dog. The accommodation was clean and spacious. The fresh eggs were a lovely touch too. There's plenty to do and see locally and further afield. Keilder forest and lake and Seahouses to see the seals are our top trips. If all you want to do is relax and not leave this accommodation I dont think you'd ever get bored of that view from this place. My grandsons wants come back and so do I!!!  Having to leave!!

Thoroughly enjoyable holiday.We found the accommodation  to be spacious,spotlessly clean and comfortable.Very friendly and helpful owner who helped us out with queries,and provided us with fresh eggs.The hot tub was very relaxing after our busy days out.Would recommend the accommodation to groups of family and friends.

Superb location for a rural escape alongside a wedding near Corbridge.  The hot tub, and the hosts were superb - and Oscar, the rescue dog, too.  Leaving!

Lovely accommodation very clean and well equipped  The stay and properties were lovely however Host and Stay who manage the property require a very large refundable damage deposit, although this is explained clearly and is understandable, almost 3 weeks on they’re still sitting on nearly £500 which is having to be chased up via back and forth emails, not really acceptable when it could have been a temporary hold.

Relaxing !

There is nothing to not like in the gathering. Exceptional home, unbelievable views from any angle. We saw john on the second morning after a stroll, and what a lovely man he is to find out more about the surrounding areas of the what was a working farm  Nothing 

Been here a few times now and will definitely be back. Perfect space, lovely hot tub, very peaceful and cosy inside. Ideal for the 6 of us for a fun weekend away.

We loved our stay at The Parlour! It was a lovely house with great amenities. The kitchen was well equipped, the house was clean and John was great and only a phone call away when we needed anything.  I would highly recommend this property and if we’re in the area again we’d go back in a heartbeat.

Very comfortable place to stay.  Great beds, powerful showers, good oven and combi microwave, nicely furnished, lots of pictures, ornaments etc that made it very homely.  Very clean.  Nice cosy sitting room with a lovely Christmas tree.  Owners very helpful.  Small things only - would stop us re booking - Wi-Fi a bit patchy- hard to get iPlayer in the sitting room. Showers need the sealant replacing, outside area around The Parlour is not very attractive.  Kitchen drawers need a good tidy up.

We had a great stay with the family. It was a great location, quiet and away from things but within a short distance to towns to visit. We stayed in December as a family and had a few guests come for a Christmas dinner with us on the Sunday. The kitchen was Fab and large enough to hold all of us. Really cosy living room. The bedrooms were all large with huge beds, en-suites and walk in wardrobes

The Parlour was exactly as described and more! We had such a great and relaxing time, everything was amazing and the hot tub was incredible. We would happily look to rebook again in the future. Lynne, John and Oscar the dog were lovely accommodating hosts and would highly recommend staying here.

Our stay here was great. The place was lovely for a few nights away and the hot tub was an extra bonus! John was great and popped over when we were having problems connecting the tv to the WiFi. There were a couple of lamps needing new lightbulbs in the living room when we arrived but again John came over and fixed this for us. Communication was really quick. There are a few things missing in the kitchen you would expect (only one small chopping board for example, no bread knife etc). The place was clean overall, however there were a few areas such as the shower which could have been slightly cleaner!  The beds were extremely comfortable and we felt the place was great value for money.

Comfy beds, spacious, warm, quiet and secluded. Decent sized mugs.  Some missing kitchen  equipment, oven dishes, potato peeler etc, more relevant in a location with no nearby eateries where home cooking is more than likely. 

Pleasant week in a remote location.

Beautiful house but let down on a lot of factors. Hot tub was unusable for the 1st night as was cold. Took overnight to heat up WiFi in the sitting room was none existent so made the room unusable as the tv wouldn’t work.  Hot hot hot inside. Heating was set to 25’ and was stifling and we struggled to turn it down.  Dirty pans in cupboard from previous occupants and some of the pans wouldn’t work on the induction hob.  Also no practical cooking dishes and oven needed a good clean. It was filthy.  Showers had black mould and empty shampoo/ shower gel bottles Coffee pods advertised but we only had 2 milk pods. No coffee pods Only 4 towels for hot tub but 5 occupants  No condiments or any type of welcome pack. Also was charged £30 accidental damage waiver on booking ( or asked to pay a £250 accidental deposit but £10 kept afterwards if no damage, as admin fee) which wasn’t mentioned until the place was booked. A little attention to small details would make a huge difference

The house itself is beautiful with stunning views. Good base to get about. Very well equipped.  Couldn't get the hot tub up to temperature  but messaged the host and he popped round and sorted it no problem.  Some areas were very dusty on arrival and I had to clean work surface area and breakfast table. Lots of cobwebs.  Hot tub had some dirt particles in the base. Because of the wooden floors and staircase, it was very noisy and creaky for anyone downstairs. Not enough low level lighting in the main sitting area. 

It’s the best accommodation we’ve visited and we’ve been to quite a few. Firstly John the host made us feel welcome and assured us of any problems to contact him and then was left to enjoy our stay. The location is so peaceful with breathtaking views and feels so private as you’re not overlooked and is around 40 mins to get to Newcastle. The property is huge and  beautifully furnished with everything you need in it and most importantly the bed was so comfortable. Just looking to re-book and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a romantic or peaceful break🙂  Nothing it was perfect 👌🏻

Lovely place for peace and quiet yet within easy reach of local attractions

Location is wonderful with fantastic views around the property.  Plenty of space in the grounds.   For 9 of us we booked both The Parlour and The Gathering.  There is a door that connects the two for a large party.  It worked perfectly. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms .  We all enjoyed our holiday there and would recommend it to others.  Only negatives were:  The flys, (being in the countryside) The water in the Jacuzzi outside the Gathering was not warm enough to use .  However this was being addressed by the owners.

Ein tolles, liebevoll eingerichtet Haus. Sehr bequeme Betten und eine tolle Aussicht. Die Besitzer, John und Lin, waren sehr nett und haben uns sogar Eier von ihren eigenen Hühnern geschenkt. Der Hot Tub war vorbereitet und man musste einfach nur noch einsteigen. Hierfür gab es extra Handtücher.  Es fehlte leider eine Kaffemaschine.

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful spot and the views and surroundings were beautiful. We felt at home straight away and loved the cosy sitting room in the evening and made good use of the hot tub.  The beds were very comfortable and the linens clean and fresh. There was some black mould on the shower heads and the edge of the showers which could have been addressed by the cleaners but that was the only thing we felt disappointing.  The owner brought us some lovely fresh eggs and the overall feeling of the place was homely yet luxurious. It was hot whilst we were there and the bedrooms got extremely warm during the day, even with the blackout blinds down, so fans would be a useful addition to the bedrooms in warmer weather.  There were no restaurants, pubs or shops in walking distance but we found some a short drive away. All in all, a lovely break in a beautiful part of the world.

Beautiful property very well decorated and spacious. Nice to have en suites in all bedrooms. Great hot tub.  Kitchen could’ve been better equipped with more utensils, pots pans, better quality toaster, cleaner oven. Sealant on baths and showers needed replacing.

Absolutely beautiful property, such an incredible price for what you get, stunning rooms, a bathroom with each room, stunning views and just beautiful property all round.   John was incredibly helpful throughout the stay, gave us fresh eggs and was very kind when dealing with us.  I don't think I could think of any bad points worth mentioning. 

This property exceeded our expectations, the relaxing weekend we wanted

Me and my family stayed in the parlour for a nice relaxing weekend away from it all, we loved it, I had to drag my mother out when it was time to leave lol would definitely stay again n the future.

We loved the hot tub, the open plan kitchen/living room/dinner. The main bedroom was gorgeous  The bi-fold external doors had an issue closing. We'd suggest possibly including bath robes for guests using the outdoor jacuzzi.

This cottage exceeded expectations. The rooms were spacious with lots of communal space to relax in. Everything was clean and comfy and the hot tub was superb. Our hosts were quick to respond to any queries we had and were super friendly. The only downside was the lack of walkable paths from the door, however the road is quiet so it is possible to walk along the road. Despite this, I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The house is in a very quiet location but only 20 minutes from Ponteland, It had been beautifully decorated for Christmas, which was an unexpected bonus.

I travel quite a lot for work and I’ve recently been working in Newcastle.  The parlour it’s self is beautiful, the lay out and the scenery. Stunning.  The only issues I had where under all of the beds where thick with dust and for over £100 cleaning fee you’d expect just because things aren’t viable to the eye to be cleaned regardless. The wifi inside the main living/kitchen area was ok but kept dropping out and if you go into the other living room the wifi wasn’t working at all for us.  It was hit and miss.  This made working from there slightly difficult for me an in the end I had to use my mobile data. We also had a slight issue with privacy. However overall stay was good and would return.

My friends and I hired both properties for a girly weekend away. The properties are absolutely stunning, there is an adjoining door that connects both properties making it feel like one huge property.   They are perfect for a larger get together and plenty of space.   The location is remote and very peaceful. Ponteland is only a 20 minute drive away which was perfect for us to visit for Christmas lunch and drinks. Taxis are easier to get from here too.  The owners live on the farm in a nearby property we found this very reassuring and John came over to help us with an enquiry we had and he checked on the hot tubs too.   Hot tubs are a perfect addition.   The properties are large and spacious and very clean. The owners really have thought of everything.  We will definitely be returning.  There isn’t anything I disliked about the property. Maybe instructions on how to use the hot tub would be useful.

Lovely place to stay, lots of space, well laid out and extremely comfortable. Everything you needed was there, great peaceful location. We’ll definitely stay here again.

The property is lovely and very spacious . it is a little difficult to find at first but once you know where it is it's excellent .  we really enjoyed our stay

Clean, huge, very comfortable furniture, 3 en suites. Warm. Host welcomed us. Quiet. Far reaching view from bedrooms.  Understand there is probably a need for a damage deposit, however, having to pay £10 admin fee for that damage deposit, for less than 48 hours in property was not good. Far too many emails asking me to pay this damage deposit. Another saucepan (a big one) would have been useful - 2 medium pans in accommodation for 6 isn't really enough. However, I didn't ask for another pan and one may well have been provided if I had asked. 

All bedrooms double & ensuite & very comfortable..Very spacious. Nice área for days out. Hot tub. Plenty of plates, cups etc. Great for socialising with family or friends. Very friendly & helpful owners. A complementry bottle of fizz & milk was a nice touch.  Unfortunately not as clean as I would expect, window sill in bedroom very dirty & cobwebs, surface of the chest of drawers was covered in make up which was easily removed. Wall of bathroom had toothpaste splattered down it. Floors could have been cleaner.  There was no coffee machine, although there was supposed to be one. A large saucepan would have been useful when cooking for 6 people, & a potato peeler.

celebrated my birthday with the girls, had everything that we needed! Hot tub was heated up before we arrived and a bottle of Prosecco gifted to us! Lovely people, lovely place.

Myself, my husband and 4 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's in a peaceful, rural location which is exactly what we were looking for. The property came with added extras which was a nice surprise: shampoo, shower gel, tea, coffee, milk etc. The hosts were lovely and always around if needed. Thankyou for a lovely stay!

Three generations stayed here from 9 months to 89 years old,  while attending a family wedding.  The accomodation was spacious and clean with everything you needed for a great stay.  The hosts where very kind and accommodating, would definitely return.
