The Space
With stunning interiors throughout, Virginia House has been made into a spacious family holiday home. You’ll be welcomed into the cosy and traditionally styled living room which features wooden beams and a flat screen Smart TV. The leather sofa and armchair contrast perfectly with the original features that still remain in the property today.

Continue onto the next room and you’ll be in the kitchen. The white kitchen units add a somewhat modern twist and they are contrasted perfectly with wooden worktops. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. All cookware and dishes are provided so you’ll have everything you need for your self-catering stay.

From the kitchen, you’ll have access to Virginia House’s secure garden which is also home to an outdoor dining area and a barbeque.

Head back inside and you’ll find four bedrooms and the family bathroom.

The first bedroom is a tranquil haven. Plush cream carpets compliment the super king size bed is perfect after a long day of exploring North Yorkshire.

Next is the ensuite king size, whilst the third bedroom is home to a double bed. The next bedroom is an ultra-chic space with an all-round cosy feel and traditional features. Premium bedding and linen makes the super king size bed even more comfortable so you’ll look forward to your sleep at Virginia House.

Virginia House is perfect for families and friends as the bed in the fourth bedroom can be split into two singles upon request.

Head to the family bathroom and you’ll find a clean, bright space. With a bath and separate shower.

Neighborhood
The village of Scorton will give you quick and easy access to various walks around the Yorkshire Dales. The Ellerton lakes and Kiplin Hall are just a short drive away from the village.

You’ll find The Farmers’ Arms right next door to Virginia House, ideal if you’re looking to enjoy a hearty meal without doing the cooking yourself.

Head to Richmond and you’ll find there is plenty of history for you to discover. Enjoy a live show at The Georgian Theatre, which is actually the oldest theatre in Europe. Look out of the bedroom windows you’ll see the magnificent Richmond Castle. An interactive museum was recently added to the site so it’s definitely worth a visit!

The gorgeous Old Victorian Railway Station has been given a new lease of life with a mix of artisan shops, a cinema, an art gallery and a café bar. You can sample beer brewed in house from Richmond Brewing company. The café bar also won the best café in the Herriot Awards recently so you’re in for a real treat.

Richmond is great for walking. There is a great river walk to Easby Abbey which is a free site to visit from English Heritage. Another beautiful walking area is Richmond Falls which is just down the hill from the marketplace. When the weather is nice, we recommend having a picnic at The Batts.

Getting Around
Darlington train station is 12 miles from Scorton and has great links to cities like Newcastle, Manchester and Edinburgh. A number of connecting routes can also be found from these stations so getting to other locations around the UK could not be easier.

A number of walking routes can be found within easy reach of Virginia House so you'll be able to explore all of North Yorkshire's rural glory with ease.
