Many guests have commented on just how close the Caedmons Prospect apartment block is to the centre of Whitby, and Whitby Harbour. It is just a short walk away, so it’s ideal if you want to experience what life is like living by the sea. The area is famous for the quality of its fish and chip restaurants, and there are plenty of places where you can sink your teeth into a fresh catch. When you fancy a drink, you’ll find a variety of bars as well as pubs and shops in the local area. Whitby is also famous for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’. You’ll find plenty of sites near the apartment with historic interest relating to the story. The main inspiration can be found at the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey. Other places close by that are well worth a visit include Flowergate and Pannett Park (which can be accessed directly opposite the Caedmons Prospect apartment block). Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
There is free private parking with the apartment, but you don’t need to have a car to enjoy staying here as it’s such a short walk to the town centre, Whitby harbour and to the train station. Villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station. There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date. Free private parking is provided, along with additional visitor parking on a first come first served basis. Additional free parking can also be found nearby.
Modern, well presented, spacious apartment not too far from the centre of Whitby, with everything in walking distance. The beds were super comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the sofa was cosy. The heating was effective when we had managed to work out how to use it. This is all automated, but not very clear in the instructions. Having a secure car space meant not having to worry about parking which can be busy. Loved staying here, it was really homely, and very quiet! We came away relaxed and revitalised On arrival the power was switched off at the main switch box inside the apartment, which took a while to resolve - this impacted the initial impressions. Unfortunately we weren't able to get additional help with this from the contact number provided, but ended up working it out for ourselves. This power switch tripped again each day early in the morning - this has been reported to Host & Stay. Concur with other review about the towel rail in the main bathroom which does not heat the room well. Also the extractor fan for the kitchen and living room runs through the ceiling of the second bedroom which is noisy. But these things were minor for us.
