Very clean and comfortable, great location

Pepperpot was in a lovely location central for all the local attractions. The bed was lovely and comfy and the shower was good.

Could have done with a bigger sofa even l shape

Modern & clean cottage in a beautiful area. The welcoming gifts were a lovely touch.

It would have been nice if there was a fenced off area for the dog. Too far to walk to the closest town.

Great little getaway in Northumberland. Handy location. Easy check in with responsive hosts. Hopefully it will get a little bit of maintenance and freshening up soon but otherwise, a really good space.

Very clean and cosy

Personal opinion I wish it had a hot tub outside

Great stay which was clean and comfortable. Friendly host. Nice outside area which was private. Close to local amenities and tourist attractions. Would stay again!

Cottage was lovely, bed very comfortable with a great shower. It is a lovely location, very quiet.
Only downside was the sofa wasn't very comfortable, but given the room understandable.

Sofa not very comfortable

Spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need! The location was perfect for visiting lots of different places. The visitors book is a lovely touch with guests leaving lovely feedback and recommendations which we used. We had great fun working the hob and microwave oven, all the instructions for every appliance are there to use.. Would absolutely stay again!

I wouldn’t say it was anything we didn’t like, just a couple of things to maybe take a look at. The shower seemed to have a little leak onto the bath mat which we rang out and hung up to dry every day. But it may need looking at so it doesn’t cause any long term damage. And the bulb in the lounge lamp and battery in the kitchen clock just need to be changed.

The Pepperpot is perfectly placed for exploring Northumberland, and was a great place to spend a few days over half term.
The only drawback is the company who manage the property on behalf of the owners. We arrived (based on their directions and postcode) at a completely different property, and when calling the company they were no help whatsoever in locating where we were staying, leaving us to drive around in the dark ourselves for half an hour only finding the Pepperpot based on the reviews of other AirBnB users. The requirement for a £250 retainer on the booking (returnable but comes with a mandatory £10 admin fee) is bizarre. The owner (Steve) was very apologetic when we eventually found the Pepperpot, however he was clearly frustrated by Host and Stay (the management company).
However, once checked in we had an brilliant stay. We just wish Host and Stay weren’t involved! You can book direct with the owners (details in the guestbook), so odd that they have outsourced to them

Comfortable and very clean.

Directions were inaccurate. Ended up knocking on someone's door for final directions. They were familiar with people knocking on their door for directions! Told it was on the left when it was further up the road on the right!

Loved the quiet location which was only 3 miles from the coast & 10 minutes from the centre of Alnwick. The fixtures & fittings in the accommodation are of a very high standard & the bed was extremely comfortable.

Nothing!

Perfect location for visiting Northumberland. Lovely accommodation. Clean. So quiet. Comfy bed. Good shower. Everything needed was provided.

Nothing!

Shower head needs cleaning. Not enough drawer/shelf space in bedroom/bathroom

Self catering

N/A

Everything was spotlessly clean and we loved the peace and quiet because it's away from main roads. There is so much of interest in the region, but you need to plan visits before your stay, to pick out the thngs that appeal to you the most. This was our 3rd trip to Northumberland and the first time at the Pepper Pot, but we intend revisiting at a future date.

you must not assume that people always have smartphones or take their laptops away on holiday.I didn't get any of your messages until we were home.

Great location, clean and comfortable.

It was quite expensive for 1 week. Management company sent slightly aggressive emails. A more friendly approach would have been welcome. It felt like it was a template.
Personally I would have developed the garden area, planters, cut back nettles and considered outside presentation too. Bit sparse on the soap, washing liquid and toilet rolls.

Decorated beautifully, really comfortable and cosy and in a great location for all of the places we wanted to visit. Will definitely return!

The location and the peaceful setting

Nothing

Lovely property in a great setting. Very clean with modern bathroom. Best for people who like to eat out as kitchen facilities are limited.
The main issue with this property is the added costs which all seem to relate to Host and Stay.
The nightly rate at c£150 should cover cleaning but you have to pay an extra £50 for this. In addition you are required to pay a £25 damage waiver in case you break a cup - the alternative is you give host and stay £250 for 3 weeks and they charge you £10 for the pleasure of holding your money.
We have stayed at many different AirBnB homes in several countries and never come across host and stay before - we will avoid them in future.

Perfect rural location
Lovely outside deating area
Very comfy bed

Tv effected by irratic wifi

Return visit for us, well thought out barn conversion with lots of lovely little touches including milk, wine and chocolate on arrival ?? great location for day trips

The cottage was in the perfect location for us, it was lovely and clean and very comfortable with everything we needed.

comfy bed clean accommodation

nothing to dislike

brilliant location and a cute cottage with everything you need for a couple of days away

nothing

If you follow the sat-nav instructions, ignore the last “turn left” and go straight on, up the hill about 200 yards and turn right into the farm yard and the Pepper Pot is right in front of you. When found it is well worth it, a well equipped, comfortable and private little dwelling with easy access to Alnwick and the coast.

Lovely place , great location

Good location

Lovely location - near to village/beaches/attractions but remote at the same time so it is very quiet and peaceful. Warm and cosy.

Amazing few days at The Pepper Pot. The barn conversion has been completed to a very high standard. We enjoyed exploring Northumberland using The Pepper Pot as a cosy base.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Pepper Pot! The rumours are true - the bed is lush?. Beautifully designed, cosy and just the right amount of space for two people and two dogs (in our case, two cocker spaniels).

The shower is powerful, the TV has all the modern features (Netflix etc) and you take the dogs out on a lovely walk right from the door. We had many bunnies hopping along the grass in front and even spotted the beautiful barn owl! The peacefulness is the best. So quiet and tranquil.

Alnwick is a short 5min taxi ride and great for meal and a few drinks at night or a stroll around in the day. Literally everywhere and everyone is just so lovely! Great location to visit other areas in Northumberland too.

Michelle is lovely, she will happily respect your privacy and leave you be but is on hand to help at anytime and has great advice on the local area!

10/10 would stay again.

location, quiet, close to places of interest, wildlife,

lack of facilities e.g dvd player, storage e.g drawers in the bedroom,

Well situated for resorts and sights. Property had some attractive features.

Limited cooking facilities. Poor storage, especially in the bedroom. A very slippery shower with no mat or hand holds which I considered a real safety risk. My dogs had to be on the lead at all times outside.

Quiet and secluded. Close to picturesque coast and towns of Northumberland

just the bench for dining table!

The Pepper Pot was a stunning location for us to relax for a few days in Northumberland. Exceptionally clean and tidy and with great amenities, we couldn't fault it. Dog friendly, too so our border collie also had a wonderful stay. It's one of the few places we can't wait to come back to!

Cottage was lovely and comfortable. Very peaceful location. Bed was one of the best I have slept on in a cottage and better than any hotel

Nothing we did not like

Our third trip to Northumberland and our favourite place to stay yet. Presented to a high standard and the bed and shower were superb ! Spot on location. My sister has booked already . Thanks for having us . An easy, perfect escape for a few nights. We will be back !

Lovely place, great access to local beaches and towns.
Check in easy, however postcode took us to the farm next door. A what three words location or more description might be good.
Overall very clean and tidy property but there were some fake plants in the bedroom which were in desperate need of a dust/clean.
Kitchen facilities good however there is only a microwave/ oven which works well but is small if you want to cook pizza for example wouldn’t really fit.
We took our dog and I had tried to find any dog rules beforehand and there was nothing on the site etc however a rules list when we arrived, would be good to see these before arriving.

A great property and would definitely stay again

Absolutely beautiful. The scenery of the little cottage, the location, the interior. Such a wonderful getaway. Michelle, the owner, was super helpful when we had a little mouse popping in the kitchen space but that’s expected when you’re at the countryside! But nothing could have knocked how incredible the pepper pot is. 1000/10! Wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem.
P.S the mattress was incredible, the best bed we’ve ever slept on WOW.

Beautiful newly renovated cottage in a central location, a short drive to the coast and nearby villages

Lovely little barn conversion in a good location for exploring all that the Northumberland coast has to offer. Would happily return!

Great location very clean everything we needed was a great break

The location was perfectly situated to explore the best of Northumberland, including Alnwick, Holy Island and Bamburgh. The cottage itself was very clean and we found the bed particularly luxurious. The bathroom was also very modern - the shower was a particular highlight, a proper rainfall shower that even my 6ft5 partner could fit under!

The living room sofa could have been a little more comfortable, perhaps an L-shaped style to put your feet up and some plumper cushions. The bench for the table was also a bit too high, so it was difficult to have a comfortable sit down meal. We also found that the shower tray leaked.

Perfect location, clean and well equipped accommodation. Very comfortable king size bed.

the property is cosy and comfortable and well located just a short drive from some beautiful coastline. The decor is bright and clean, the bed is comfortable and the kitchenette is sufficient for cooking basic meals (a micro/convection oven).

Nothing not to like :-)

a quiet location close to Alnwick. ideall for a single night.

Pretty much everything except the shower which flooded the bathroom when used on anything above a low flow.

The issue with the shower. We had to mop up the floor with towels (we could not find a mop in the property) and put them in the wash to spin before putting them out to dry. For the rest of the week we were unable to have a proper shower and the property does not have a bath to use an an alternative. We understand that issues like happen but we were disappointed with the way Host and Stay handled it. I received a belated (prompted by me) apology and have had no offer of recompense.

Fantastic location, property very clean - we will be back, thank you!

it was like home from home all the extra touch’s just made it more special

nothing

Perfect location for the local sights, and beautifully appointed

Fantastic stay, beautiful accommodation, very central to sight see. Stunning will definitely be back thanks

The accommodation makes great use of the available space and is light and airy. The bed and sofa are really comfortable and everything is really clean. The open hanging space in the bedroom works well and there's a nice little dressing table area in bedroom too. Lovely bathroom and shower. Nice outdoor seating area. Brilliant location, so close to Alnwick, Howick and the coast but on a quiet road so there's no traffic noise when sitting outside.
We really enjoyed our stay!

quiet & tranquil. lovely decor with a lot of thought going into that. Large bathroom & bedroom with comfortable bed.

not a lot of space round sink as was set back in the corner of unit & a little difficult to reach over. no info about recycling.

Fabulous cottage in a perfect location - very quiet with easy access to gorgeous dog friendly beaches and the lovely Alnwick.
Cottage has been lovingly restored with everything you need for your stay. Would definitely go back - for a longer stay next time!

great experience! thank you

We had a wonderful week at The Pepperpot! I have already recommended the property to two friends looking for a holiday cottage in Northumberland.
Definite thumbs up! ??

Clean, contemporary and comfortable

nothing

Lovely stay! We spent 3 nights here with our dog and it was perfect. Great location. Decor is lovely, bed was very comfortable!
Host left us wine and chocolate which was gorgeous! Great facilities. We regretted not booking for longer! We would definitely recommend and love to return.

First visit to Northumberland and we were so impressed with the accommodation, the scenery and the wonderful golf courses. Alnwick Castle was amazing if a little expensive. There seems to be a real pride in keeping properties, gardens and public spaces in great condition which together with the stone used to build most houses makes for a very attractive environment. We will definitely return.

None, it was excellent and really enjoyable.

Lovely property, comfortable bed and great access to coast and Cragside

Beautifully clean and contemporary property, in a good location just on the outskirts of Alnwick. Chocolate, wine and milk on arrival were greatly appreciated.

We had a great stay at the Pepper Pot, it has been beautifully renovated and was a great base for exploring the towns and beaches.

quiet an comfortable
nice location
good walks and
close to sea and empty beaches

no pegs or hangers near door
for wet coats and boots.

its very difficult to shower
without flooding the bathroom

personal thing
im not keen on electric cookers

A lovely place, in an ideal location to explore all that Northumberland has to offer!

Lovely well appointed and cosy cottage. Great location for exploring Northumberland.

Really stunning place to stay in a great location with easy access to the Northumberland coastline. Really comfy bed and it had everything I needed.

Initial directions were not accurate, but once I found it it was perfect! I would definitely return.

The perfect little place to stay with my husband and our dog, the property is closely located to all of the small towns and beaches. The shower was really powerful, and the bed was super comfy! We loved Northumberland, especially Beadnell. Thank you for a great base for our trip, we will hopefully be back. Steph

Beautiful stop comfy and warm great location

Comfortable barn conversion in the countryside. Nice and peaceful and a good distance from the beaches and other local attractions such as the famous castles. Had a lovely time here and would definitely return.

Comfortable and warm accommodation in tranquil surroundings. A nice place to stay.

We loved our weekend at this beautiful cottage. The location is perfect - so peaceful and quiet and 5 mins from the beautiful Northumberland coast. The cottage has loads of homely touches and feels very cozy and comfortable. It was also perfect for our dog who made herself at home very quickly! Our only regret is we didn’t book a longer stay.

Fantastic barn conversion, 5 minutes outside Alnwick we absolutely loved our time here and will be back again!

This place is cosy and lovely place, set in an ideal location for lots Northumberland has to offer.

Excellent spot with plenty to do locally

Simple, functional accommodation with a well equipped kitchen.

Could have been easier to locate if there had been a sign at the bottom of the road. We initially went to the wrong cottage, the one shown on the google map search. Not a big deal, just a little confusing.

This was a great little place, clean and modern and perfect for our needs.
It was also nice to be greeted by all the chickens outside each morning before we went out!

On the face of it the place is amazing, the owners have done a great job converting it into a livable space which is finished to a pretty high standard. The property is also in a great location for exploring Northumberland, about 10/15 minutes in either direction to Alnwick and Craster and only about 30 to Bamburgh.
That being said, we had to leave early, 2 nights into our 3 night stay. There were what sounded like numerous rodents roaming the walls and under the floorboards leading to 2 sleepless nights, we couldn’t cope with a third. The owner did come round, apologised and offered to put poison/ traps down however this didn’t comfort us with having a puppy and we already felt rather uncomfortable to know that they were under our feet.

We loved the Pepper Pot. We stayed with our two dogs for 3 nights. The Pepper Pot feels very fresh & new. Modem, relaxing decor, very comfy king bed. Well stocked small galley kitchen. Only a 5 minute drive to Alnwick for evening meals. We had 2 take outs, 1 from Thai Vibe which was excellent, fish & chips from Carlos again excellent. We also ate at The Market Tavern with our dogs, the food again was very good. This was our first visit to Northumberland and will certainly not be our last. There is so much to see. We did the walk from Seahouses to Bamburgh Castle and back along the spectacular beach our dogs loved it. We had lunch at The Copper Kettle in Bambugh scrummy toasted sandwiches & cakes, thoroughly recommend. We visited Dunstanburgh Castle again another fabulous beach walk with the dogs to the castle. There is so much to see & do you won’t be bored. It was always lovely to come back to the peaceful Pepper Pot.

Spotlessly clean and well furnished. Quiet location but good for getting to Alnwick or coast. Really enjoyed our stay

The Pepperpot is a beautiful, well-equipped barn conversion in a wonderful location close to many interesting coastal villages and beaches. It is peaceful and quiet, just the job for a chilling break away from it all. We were welcomed with chocolate, wine and a bottle of milk - the three basic essentials!! Definitely worth another visit.

Beautiful setting - rabbits and chickens running free next to accommodation. Welcome bottle of wine on arrival. Well equipped. Would definitely reccommend.

The Pepper Pot was a lovely place to stay. Beautifully decorated with some tasteful touches and the most comfy king-size bed! A really relaxing environment. We were so lucky with the weather so drinks on the patio were an evening ritual where we were often joined by the resident hens complete with their chicks. A very peaceful place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope to visit again in the future. Thank you Michelle and Steve for making us so welcome (And for the wine and chocolate).

it's very new, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. lovely location. spotlessly clean. highly recommended

What a lovely hideaway! Immaculate and well equipped place. Roomy and airy. Beautifully clean. Lovely welcome and the bottle of ‘milk’ ? a nice touch.
The photo’s are accurate. We saw rabbits and plenty of bird life from the accommodation including a trio of grouse.
Co-op in Longhoughton for groceries. Five minutes drive to Alnwick.
Excellent position to access all that Northumberland has to offer.
