Neighborhood
The nearest towns and villages to Plessey are Cramlington and Morpeth.

Bustling, historic Morpeth is the largest town in Northumberland and it combines traditional market town-charm with stylish high streets, modern shopping centres and upscale bars. Quaint, cobbled streets, quirky farmers’ markets and classic general markets give the town an irresistible antiquity and showcase its unique heritage and beauty.

Nearby Cramlington boasts a variety of amenities, making it an attractive place to visit. The town centre features a mix of traditional and contemporary architecture, housing an array of shops, restaurants, cinema and cafes. The Manor Walks Shopping Centre is a popular destination for visitors, offering a diverse shopping experience.

There are several popular local attractions nearby that can be reached via walking routes from The Orchard. Northumberlandia “The Lady of the North” is a unique piece of public art set in a 46-acre community park with free public access and four miles of footpaths on and around the landform.

Plessey Woods Country Park borders the wooded River Blyth as it meanders through farmland between Bedlington and Cramlington. There are 100 acres to explore in total, but the most interesting parts are focused around the river itself, with a scenic path from The Orchard that leads to a river side pathway along the north bank. Plessey Woods Country Park, with its scenic trails and woodland areas, provides a serene escape for nature enthusiasts and families.

Getting Around
Cramlington has fantastic rail links to locations all across the North East and Northumberland with direct routes to Haltwhistle, Hexham, Morpeth, Prudhoe, Newcastle and the Metrocentre. Rail access to Carlisle is also available.

Stayed at this air bnb for a wedding closeby. Definitely value for money! Stunning, quiet location and ample room. Very clean and comfortable.

The property suited our needs perfectly and whilst feeling remote/peaceful, it is a relatively short drive from Newcastle city centre. We enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic property. ‘Out of the way’ but close to nearest town and northeast coast. The pictures didn’t really do it justice. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. Kitchen was very well equipped and very spacious. The garden was huge and, had the weather been better, would have been fantastic with two little boys with a lot of energy! Had a lovely long weekend and would definitely go back.

We all had a great time at the property. Communication could have been a bit better as it got to the day before and we still hadn’t received check in instructions. Found it difficult to contact the host on air bnb chat and I appeared to be talking to a bot. The house itself was beautiful, clean and we had an enjoyable stay there. Great location as feels very rural and great views but still close to towns and shops.

lovely home in a peaceful setting. A shame that a gardener arrived for several hours during the stay as this created noise and meant we did not have full access to the garden we had paid to access. The gardener was lovely but to be considered by hosts. Also only one dish washer tablet left for 8 guests for 2 nights. No washing liquid and only two toilet rolls. A shame that the hosts provided little basic amenities given the price of the reservation.

The house was perfect for my family short break. Plenty of space for us in the dining room and lounge, modern kitchen and the beds were all very comfortable. Quite easy to find, very quiet location and room to park four cars.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property and Host and Stay.

A beautiful, clean & comfortable home in a very peaceful location. We were a group of 7 adults & there was plenty of space for us all. We really enjoyed cooking in the lovely kitchen & enjoyed sitting in the dining room in the evenings. Enjoyed walks in Plessey Country Park & Druridge Bay. Highly recommend this property.

I booked this gorgeous property on the day of arrival for some of my colleagues who were working in the area. The response from the host was immediate, the information emailed immediately and when I contacted Support because I couldn’t find some information (my mistake), I was connected quickly - and this was on a Sunday. I was very impressed with the booking process and the guests were blown away by how beautiful the property is. One is thinking of returning with his family for a holiday.
All in all a super home and a very positive experience. Thank you!
