We have just returned from a lovely relaxing weekend at the cobbles. Osmotherly is a stunning village with 3 amazing restaurants and a very well stocked village shop and lovely fish and chip shop.
The cottage was exactly as described and very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The log burner was beautiful for a relaxing evening with a good film. The facilities were of a very high standard. It’s a shame that dogs are no longer allowed, otherwise we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The cottage is very charming and offers ample space for a comfortable stay. Situated in a serene and peaceful village, it's an ideal spot for relaxation and walking. But the presence of a cosy fireplace was a key factor in our decision to book this delightful cottage.
Unfortunately the managing company does not provide ANY logs for your stay, which we think is very poor. Wherever we stayed before always provided logs at least for the first night. It was especially tricky to find logs as we arrived at nearly 4pm on New Year's Eve when all businesses shut early. We reported the issue immediately, but unfortunately the managing company took no steps to rectify it.
In addition, their stinginess was evident in other areas as they only supplied us with 3 dishwasher tablets for our 5-night stay. Such essentials should be included in the cost of the stay to enhance the overall experience.
Moreover, we encountered minor maintenance issues, such as burnt-out light bulbs and peeling paint in the bathroom. These issues detracted from our overall satisfaction with the accommodation.

Very enjoyable stay in a well appointed and spacious property located within 100m of all the major village facilities. A few niggles around broken lightbulbs, broken shower, stained mattress cover, broken bedroom curtain etc but overall a very pleasant stay and I would certainly return.

Beautiful cottage, comfortable and warm and in a great location in the centre of Osmotherley. So we were able to take full advantage of the village’s ample amenities.
Nothing to dislike. It was lovely. Just missing a cafetière and perhaps a bit of kindling and wood to start a fire at 4pm on a winter’s evening.

A very comfortable cottage in a great location, would recommend. The is a large boot room which is perfect for storing bikes if you are a cyclist?

Well equipped, cosy and located really nicely in a beautiful village
Nothing of note

Our 6th visit...in a great location
For a premium property it is now feeling in need of some tlc. Showers broken...needs a deep clean...and garden area was untidy although weather was not great.

Love staying in Osmotherley and The Cobbles is the perfect place to stay. Felt like we got a good rate (out of season) for the quality of the place and had a fantastic time. No issues whatsoever while we were there. Would absolutely rebook again and likely will.

A lovely cottage, well-placed in a lovely village.

A wonderful cottage in a fabulous village. Very clean and welcoming. Excellent local shop and restaurants. However I feel the description should be amended as although there is a wood burning stove, no wood is provided. The listing also describes a coffee machine which was not present in the cottage. Apart from this we had a wonderful holiday.

The Cobbles is a really lovely cottage, situated in a beautiful village with wonderful walks on the doorstep. The cottage was immaculate and very well equipped. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. It also has a lovely outside area with seating if the weather allows! All communication with Host and Stay was extremely swift and helpful. Would recommend highly!

Everything about the accommodation was described accurately and therefore the property lived up to the marketing. It was a quality building with everything needed for an enjoyable stay.
We were four adults and every person agreed it had been a good choice and we would return to the same property for a longer break.
In summary we loved our stay and will definitely return.

An absolutely beautiful property in a gorgeous village. The cottage is really cosy, spotlessly clean and we really enjoyed our stay. Within very easy walking distance of great pubs and a fab local shop. So easy to get too off the A19. Would recommend and will stay again.

A lovely cottage right in the heart of a very picturesque village. Very clean and 3 good sized bedrooms. Good showers. Sofas not the best - pretty tired- but to be fair that’s not unusual for a dog friendly property. Walked a 10km circular route which was dog friendly and started right in the village. Local shop is pretty limited so went to Sainsbury’s and M&S in Northallerton for food and ate in the Queen Catherine. Also had a drink in the Golden Lion and a coffee in the coffee shop.

A beautiful well kept property. We’ve stayed in many Air BnB’s now, this one is definitely in our top 5!
Great communication an all round perfect experience. Thank you ?

The Cobbles was a great place to stay.
Child friendly and comfortable in beautiful village surroundings.

Everything was perfect

Fabulous place to stay with great walks straight from the front door. The cottage is close to the centre of the village which has three pubs (The Golden Lion is excellent), fish and chip shop, great cafe and a well stocked general store. The accommodation is well laid out, very spacious and the boot room is excellent for storing muddy boots! The rear garden is fabulous and very private (host needs to add a photo to the listing). Private parking is available outside the property plus there was always space on the road.

Beautiful cottage, in a great location. The courtyard garden was a welcome space too.
This really is a lovely home, comfortable and clean & very spacious. Ideally located for exploring the area. Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely home in a spectacular village with nice pubs a few yards away!

Great location, lovely and cosy! Beds very comfy and great showers/bathrooms!
Just check as heating was on auto in summer which I didn't think to check, trying to reach 24 degrees! Very warm! Easy to use heating though so easily fixed, just check when you get there!!

The Cobbles is a beautifully presented cottage, a comfortable and peaceful stay with amenities just a stone’s throw away. Lovely playground a short walk away for those with kids too!

We had a fantastic stay. Lovely setting with lots to do in the area, lovely walks with great pubs, cafe and fish and chips. House was beautiful and centrally located, a really relaxing stay.

The Cobbles is one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in!
The accommodation is beautifully clean and the outside garden space was a real bonus - with the su setting beautifully on the terrace!
We walked out from the house on to the moors ! Stunning
The local village shop is just 3 doors up and is well stocked!
The two local pubs serve great food and the atmosphere in The Golden Lion is very friendly.
We loved it! Thank you

Nice Cottage, great location - overall it was an OK stay but we expect more from a LUX property. Host & Stay quick to demand deposit for damage or their alternative damage waiver but not quick to remedy faulty or damaged equipment. A review by Stuart which was left over 6 weeks before our arrival complained about the TV not working. It would seem that this had not been dealt as it still wasn't working when we arrived. We contacted Host and Stay to report the problem and eventually they replied saying that they had contacted the owner who wasn't able to send anyone to attend to the issues. Come on Host and Stay get your fingers out and tell the owners that if they cant find anyone to fix a TV in 6 weeks its just an excuse for no action. You say that you are there 24/7 to resolve issues, be careful if you over promise as things will only rebound on you.

The house is lovely and spacious, the location is perfect. We all slept great the beds are very comfortable. The garden is enclosed for dogs
We didn’t like the cutlery, it wasn’t in keeping with the property

Beautiful home in a beautiful location. Large communal spaces and bedrooms and all light and airy throughout. Lovely enclosed garden, and a very very short walk away to a little village shop and a local pub!

The letting is described as luxury. Not sure this is the case when drinking from a smarties mug and using ‘picnic’ style cutlery. Casserole says pan in bad state so much so that it was a hazard. No free view channels available. Rooms comfortable and large bathroom good. All very comfortable unless you want to cook and eat. Important part of a self catering accommodation

Good location, pubs nearby, quiet.
Plenty of space in property, beds and sofa comfy.
Having 2 bathrooms and a toilet downstairs a bonus.
Would help to have another tea towel, and towel in kitchen.
Upgrade the cutlery doesn’t fit with quality of property.
Being picky but could do with a hook on back of bathroom door. For clothes or towel.

Our 3 Rd stay
It's just fits all we need.
Main bed could be bigger..that's all.

Loved the house and the area. The beds were comfortable and the showers were lovely. Went for some lovely walks from the house. We will definitely visit again!

Lovely stay overall.

Cottage is right in the centre of the village. Close to shop, pubs and walks.

Open plan layout downstairs is great for families with young kids. Beds are comfortable.

Beautiful house, great area.

Beautiful location in the centre of Osmotherley, close to the village pubs and shop, and lovely walks straight from the cottage.
The cottage had everything we needed for our stay, would definitely recommend.
Host and Stay were very responsive to messages.

A beautiful property right in the heart of Osmotherley - exactly what we wanted.

Lovely cottage, deceptively spacious. Really enjoyed our stay, nice and cosy too. Hope to return again.

Beautiful spacious home in a great village with excellent pubs

Lovely cosy cottage
We enjoyed our stay with our family and pet dog Louie .Everything was so nice .
The cottage was well equipped, there was nothing we needed that wasnt there .
Lovely log fire ?.
Lovely village ?

We had a great stay at The Cobbles. Great location and lovely property.

Lovely house in beautiful area. Excellent walking in all directions. A good base for sightseeing all the North York Moors. Clean, comfortable and very spacious. Variety of excellent food options within the village.
Log burning stove but no logs. Would be better if some were provided with the option of buying more. I think the owners have invested heavily and have done a superb job of renovating the house. However, I also think they have struggled to equip the cottage to the same beautiful standard. I am sure now it is up and running it should make things easier for them.

Quaint, comfortable accommodation.
Situated in lovely area.
The local pubs are all on your doorstep and provide great food and delicious wine!
Suitable if you want a quiet weekend situated in the heart of the countryside.
Local village store is walking distance and super handy!

We had a great stay in this lovely house. It's in a picturesque village with pubs very close by and a small shop almost nextdoor!
Only negatives were that there was no TV reception (which may be out of the control of the host) so only able to watch iPlayer etc through the smart TV - which was fine for us but some less technically minded people may struggle with it. And also there was a slight leak from the ceiling in the dining area, however the host was contacted and they said they would repair it ASAP.
Overall we would happily stay there again! :)

Been before..Great accommodation..
All great

We had a lovely stay and found the house very comfortable, clearly a lot of effort went into its refurbishment. The village is delightful, just a stone's throw to the village shop and pub, with some excellent walks from the village too.

The location was great as was the property.
Appreciate you need people to vacate in a timely manner. But it felt a bit overly stressed in respect to email notifications. Especially during the stay.

What a beautiful place to stay in such an amazing village. The house had everything thing we needed for a short multi generational stay. It was very comfortable. We loved having access to the garden.
Osmotherley is an amazing village with three great pubs, a cafe and a local shop two doors away. Unfortunately as it was closed we didn’t get to try out the fish and chip shop but as Northallerton is only down the road, we had other options.
We are already hoping to book again

Exceptionally lovely spot with brilliant amenities just doors away. Really lovely village too, so welcoming and picturesque. Accommodation was lovely. Kitchen quite cramped but fine for a few days and well kitted out. Beds were comfortable too and well furnished. Clean and tidy on arrival. Had sone basic bits like salt and pepper, foil etc but would have liked a few bits like tea, coffee and 1pt milk for arrival. Shop literally a couple of doors away open till 5:30pm with anything you would likely need. We just arrived just after this so missed out on first night. Would recommend and hope to visit again. Thank you

Great location, with 3 lovely pubs right on the doorstep. The cottage was spacious yet homely and had everything we needed for a short break. Bedrooms were clean and beds very comfortable
The courtyard was not suitable for our toddler, it could be so much better.

This is a lovely cottage and was ideal for our few days away. The village is beautiful and everything you could need and want is nearby. The noise from people walking by, the nearby pubs, and vehicles going past was unexpected for such a quaint location but very noticeable especially in the evenings and during warm weather when cooler air is welcome from open windows.

comfortable -lovely decor - lots of room.
obviously someone has taken great care to impress
lovely venue
no sound on tv.
no storage or hanging facilities in 3rd bedroom.
no locks on toilet/bathroom

Cottage avec tout le confort pour une famille et dans un village sympathique . Nous avons fait une magnifique marche dans les environs et visité le north Yorkshire depuis ce lieu.

We had a lovely stay at The Cobbles. Great location in a beautiful village. The cottage was clean and spacious, we enjoyed a weekend here with family and would definitely return. Three pubs, a village shop and a fish and chip shop on your doorstep!

A very lovely cottage with pretty , sunny courtyard garden situated in the heart of Osmotherley.
Excellent village shop next door almost to cottage and fantastic pub Golden Lion a few steps away.
Bathrooms superb and cottage extremely well equipped and very tastefully furnished.
Nothing!

This is a lovely, generally well equipped property in a great central location and the stone floors and boot room are ideal with dogs. There was a good initial supply of essentials such as tea, coffee, loo rolls etc and the village shop is two doors down.

Super cottage in a beautiful village with great family friendly pubs and a fabulous shop, almost next door, which sells everything you need?We will definitely try to use The Cobbles again

Really lovely cottage in a great location, in a beautiful village.
Big clean bedrooms and bathrooms , the cobbles has everything you need for a great weekend away.

Fantastic location, really good sized property and absolute pleasure to be there on a beautiful day. Perfectly situated for the Lyke Wake Walk and the village centre.

Lovely location, great facilities! Clean and well-kept throughout.

Only things to note is that the listing says towels may not be available - they were! - and cooking oil would be available - it wasn't.

It’s a lovely cottage in the heart of Osmotherly. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Lots of character.
I really didn’t like the automated Superhog web based verification process. To me it seemed intrusive and misleading. It has nothing to do with the staff who were polite and helpful.

Lovely location & comfortable cottage.

Great weekend away with family! Lovely house in a beautiful location with lots of lovely walks!

The Cobbles is a great place to stay, lovely comfy beds, a real country feel with an open fire and great facilities.

3 local pubs, shop and a fish & chip shop make it a great place to unwind and relax.

The house was clean, beautifully presented and we would 100% recommend the property to anyone. The location was amazing, we enjoyed food on both nights at the Golden Lion pub round the corner where the food and service was excellent. We used one of the Cobbles walking guides for a walk. The directions on the guide were very good but the level of the walk was definately more advanced and this wasn't noted on the information, but we have made a note on the guide.

A lovely cosy, comfortable cottage in an ideal location. So clean and spacious too. A great place for my sisters and I to spend time together ?

High specification with little extras
Just something minor. TV could be a bit bigger

A lovely place in a lovely village

Beautiful cottage , in a lob village . Tastefully decorated , comfortable beds and immaculately clean . Would definitely recommend!

Check-in was easy with great communication from the host. The cottage has a very homely feel about it with all the amenities provided. its in a great location to for local pubs and the reservoir. Good value for money.

Very accurate description on the web site of the property Well kept property if guests continue to treat it as they find it on arrival. Nice and warm well equipt. Great location for getting outdoors for a walk or in the car if you want to go further afield. Very comfortable stay

Wonderful cottage in a lovely village. We would certainly recommend!

We adored our stay at the Cobbles. The cottage is spacious, clean and stunningly decorated. We had a fabulous time exploring the village and the local pubs. The log burner was fabulous! We came armed with kindling and wood incase but there was already a basket provided, which was kind. Each room is very clean and well presented, with great bathrooms and multiple hairdryers! This property is gorgeous in the winter but would likely be stunning in the summer too with an outdoor courtyard, table and chairs. The village shop a few doors down has all the essentials including local produce, such a lovely shop! All three pubs were great too! We’d love to come back!

A beautifully appointed cottage with lots of home comforts. Really well equipped kitchen, immaculately clean and clear instructions for heating, bins and WiFi etc. We enjoyed some wonderful walks around Codbeck reservoir and lovely pub grub in the Golden Lion. All in all a wonderful little break away and we would all love to come again.

Well finished
No drawers in bedrooms

Size, comfy beds, location.
3rd bedroom no wardrobe or mirror. All bedrooms no draw space. Only 5 hangers in 2 bedrooms.
Stairs, lounge rug & sofas needed to be hovered & cleaned. Why have coffee machine & supply no coffee pods. Kitchen cupboards need cleaning. I cleaned larder shelves. Need some larger bowls re salad, mixing. TV to small when sitting far sofa.

Very nice house in great location with good local pubs and walks. Would have been nice to be able to use the stove but no logs/kindling were provided. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay.

Feels like a home from home...ideal location for exploring the area including Cod Beck Reservoir. The cottage was well renovated with care and attention by the owners to bring back some of the history.. home feels loved... something you don't always feel when you walk in to some places. Some lovely touches to the heart shaped cast iron latches. Plenty of towels and supplies...and the little shop on the corner sells logs for the fire ...

Lovely quality and tastefully presented cottage. Beds and linens were of a good standard and very comfortable. The showers were quality within beautiful bathrooms. The cottage was centrally located for the North Yorkshire Moors, yet pubs and shop on the doorstep.
The facilities were good in the kitchen except there wasn't enough utensils for cooking. Additionally, perhaps no fault of the host but, maybe the previous occupants, the black bin was very full in the garage/utility area. As it was smelly I put it in the rear garden. The host relies on the occupants to put the bin out. Whilst I have no problem with this, as I put out the recycling bin whilst there, perhaps some people aren't inclined, which is a shame.

Beautiful location, gorgeous back yard with planted flower beds and pots. Cosy and comfortable interior recently renovated to a high standard. The master bedroom had the MOST comfortable mattress and a beautiful en suite shower room with excellent shower. Great laundry facilities (tumble dryer too even if it is a little slow!) Great utility area for boots and luggage away from living room and kitchen. Excellent oven and well presented kitchen. There is a Nespresso coffee machine which isn't mentioned in the details so was very welcome. We took our small dog and he was very comfortable.
I'm a keen baker and cook so the kitchen wasn't equipped quite to my standards, but we got by! And if there had been a larger clothes horse of some kind that would have been useful.

Tracey P.

Accurate description of cottage. This was our second visit to The Cobbles and we will return.

A lovely stay at a peaceful cottage in a perfect place for exploring North Yorkshire! Thanks

Location for walking. Surrounding countryside and distance to coast.
Parking was tight. Couldn't charge hybrid vehicle. Village was very busy. Kitchen utensils could have been better and no towel. Cooker hood dirty and cobwebs in garage/toilet area.

A lovely cottage in a picturesque village. Close to facilities but still out of the way. The completely enclosed courtyard was fabulous as the dog could have access to outside all of the time. It was quite and very comfortable. Plenty of room to relax.
We stay in the area a few times a year as we have family nearby. The cost of The Cobbles was higher than anywhere else we have stayed which will put some people off. The TV was quite small for the distance from the sofas.

Property is located in a picturesque village. Local amenities very close by.
The cottage was full of original features.
30 miles from York&Harrogate.
An updated crockery and kitchen utensils selection along with some new cushions etc would improve the overall experience of this property.
Overall, a pleasant stay.
Thank You.

Fiona B., Edinburgh

The Cobbles is a beautiful house, tastefully decorated but retaining ‘cottagey’ charm. There is a lovely outdoor space with table and chairs, great for sitting out in the sun with a glass of wine. Osmotherley is a super location with lovely walks and pubs close by serving good food. We had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Fantastic - great host and lovely property

Clean, charming accommodation

Stunning, everything we wanted and more. Loved the story of the cottage too. Will definitely book again. Hosts were very easy to communicate with and very accessible. Highly recommended! ?

Very homely and lovely house, right in the village and next to the village shops. Easy walk to find the Cleveland way. Very well kept, clean and superb little garden.
Not a lot!!

A lovely cottage in a wonderful location. The cottage was well-furnished with a private courtyard. A beautiful village with everything you would need on your door step!

A very quiet location, clean and recently decorated. Plenty of room for six adults, one child and a baby. Just a few yards away from a few pubs, chip shop and a shop. Sadly the local tea room was closed through out our stay.
Maybe more crockery eg. a few more bowls.
The kettle was very noisy when switched on.

We had a lovely long weekend at the Cobbles. The house was perfectly sized for our group of 6 and was in a great location for exploring the local area. Would highly recommend to everybody.

We had a lovely weekend in the cottage, beds were really cosy and the kitchen well equipped. Great location for exploring the local area. Both showers were excellent too. Would definitely come back. Many thanks!

A wonderful few days in a beautiful cottage in the idylic setting of Osmotherley.

v cosy and all clean/ really lovely weekend

Beautiful cottage in the perfect location. Spacious and very tastefully decorated. More than enough room for a family or group of friends.

Lovely modern cottage, would return.

A gorgeous cottage on the doorstep to the Yorkshire Moors. The place is clean, cosy and comfortable and has everything you need for a stay away from home. We would love to come back.

Lovely cottage, great location for different walks and visits to the coast. Would highly recommend.

Perfect place!

Such a perfect cottage!
We will be back!

Home Truths

The Cobbles doesn't have a grassed garden area but it does have a paved patio with outdoor furniture to the rear of the cottage.

The property doesn't have a separate dining room however it does have an open plan living and dining area.
