Absolutely beautiful property, such an incredible price for what you get, stunning rooms, a bathroom with each room, stunning views and just beautiful property all round.
John was incredibly helpful throughout the stay, gave us fresh eggs and was very kind when dealing with us.
I don't think I could think of any bad points worth mentioning.

Me and my family stayed in the parlour for a nice relaxing weekend away from it all, we loved it, I had to drag my mother out when it was time to leave lol would definitely stay again n the future.

We loved the hot tub, the open plan kitchen/living room/dinner. The main bedroom was gorgeous
The bi-fold external doors had an issue closing. We'd suggest possibly including bath robes for guests using the outdoor jacuzzi.

Beautifully decorated, amazing views from Hot tub. Comfy beds. Will definitely book again.

This cottage exceeded expectations. The rooms were spacious with lots of communal space to relax in. Everything was clean and comfy and the hot tub was superb. Our hosts were quick to respond to any queries we had and were super friendly. The only downside was the lack of walkable paths from the door, however the road is quiet so it is possible to walk along the road.
Despite this, I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The house is in a very quiet location but only 20 minutes from Ponteland, It had been beautifully decorated for Christmas, which was an unexpected bonus.

I travel quite a lot for work and I’ve recently been working in Newcastle.
The parlour it’s self is beautiful, the lay out and the scenery. Stunning.
The only issues I had where under all of the beds where thick with dust and for over £100 cleaning fee you’d expect just because things aren’t viable to the eye to be cleaned regardless.
The wifi inside the main living/kitchen area was ok but kept dropping out and if you go into the other living room the wifi wasn’t working at all for us.
It was hit and miss.
This made working from there slightly difficult for me an in the end I had to use my mobile data. We also had a slight issue with privacy. However overall stay was good and would return.

Hot tub, beautiful views, spacious accommodation

My friends and I hired both properties for a girly weekend away. The properties are absolutely stunning, there is an adjoining door that connects both properties making it feel like one huge property.
They are perfect for a larger get together and plenty of space.
The location is remote and very peaceful. Ponteland is only a 20 minute drive away which was perfect for us to visit for Christmas lunch and drinks. Taxis are easier to get from here too.
The owners live on the farm in a nearby property we found this very reassuring and John came over to help us with an enquiry we had and he checked on the hot tubs too.
Hot tubs are a perfect addition.
The properties are large and spacious and very clean. The owners really have thought of everything.
We will definitely be returning.
There isn’t anything I disliked about the property. Maybe instructions on how to use the hot tub would be useful.

Lovely place to stay, lots of space, well laid out and extremely comfortable. Everything you needed was there, great peaceful location. We’ll definitely stay here again.

The property is lovely and very spacious . it is a little difficult to find at first but once you know where it is it's excellent .
we really enjoyed our stay

Clean, huge, very comfortable furniture, 3 en suites. Warm. Host welcomed us. Quiet. Far reaching view from bedrooms.
Understand there is probably a need for a damage deposit, however, having to pay £10 admin fee for that damage deposit, for less than 48 hours in property was not good. Far too many emails asking me to pay this damage deposit. Another saucepan (a big one) would have been useful - 2 medium pans in accommodation for 6 isn't really enough. However, I didn't ask for another pan and one may well have been provided if I had asked.

All bedrooms double & ensuite & very comfortable..Very spacious. Nice área for days out.
Hot tub.
Plenty of plates, cups etc.
Great for socialising with family or friends.
Very friendly & helpful owners.
A complementry bottle of fizz & milk was a nice touch.
Unfortunately not as clean as I would expect, window sill in bedroom very dirty & cobwebs, surface of the chest of drawers was covered in make up which was easily removed. Wall of bathroom had toothpaste splattered down it. Floors could have been cleaner.
There was no coffee machine, although there was supposed to be one.
A large saucepan would have been useful when cooking for 6 people, & a potato peeler.

celebrated my birthday with the girls, had everything that we needed! Hot tub was heated up before we arrived and a bottle of Prosecco gifted to us! Lovely people, lovely place.

3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms!
10am checkout time, too early!

All good, thank you.

Everything was perfect

Myself, my husband and 4 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's in a peaceful, rural location which is exactly what we were looking for. The property came with added extras which was a nice surprise: shampoo, shower gel, tea, coffee, milk etc. The hosts were lovely and always around if needed. Thankyou for a lovely stay!

It was clean, very spacious and comfortable.

Location, space and cleanliness of the property
Friendly owners and good communication
Very comfortable

Stunning accommodation in a beautiful location. Spotlessly clean with everything you need and some lovely touches. Very friendly helpful hosts. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return!

Had a wonderful week at The Parlour.
Very relaxing location, great to explore Northumberland
The Parlour is high spec and everything you need and Lynne and John are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble

The Parlour is a fabulous property - extremely spacious and furnished to a high quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the complimentary hen's eggs was a nice touch

a beautiful property in a fantastic location. beautifully decorated and well furnished. we had an amazing stay. definitely will be back.
nothing

Amazing views, lovely getaway. Would definitely recommend and go again.

beautiful spacious and clean
where the jacuzzi was could of been a bit more landscaped

Beautiful property and amenities for a very reasonable price
One of the main reasons we chose this was the consistency in the bedroom layouts, hot tubs had lovely plenty of room
Only tiny things for us would have been a more comfortable area to sit outside, but it was a really great accomdation
The owners were great, brought us some lovely free range eggs

Three generations stayed here from 9 months to 89 years old, while attending a family wedding. The accomodation was spacious and clean with everything you needed for a great stay. The hosts where very kind and accommodating, would definitely return.

Great stay in lovely accommodation, area is lovely and the host very helpful will definitely return

We had a fabulous few days at The Parlour. Beautiful accommodation - perfect for 3 couples with en-suite bedrooms and loads of social space.
Owners were friendly and helpful too.
Definitely booking again soon.
We all loved it ?

Everything!!! stunning views and stunning decor with gorgeous hosts. Thank you!

The Parlour was the most perfect place for us. Spacious enough for six adults, incredibly comfortable and the hot tub was a lovely bonus.

beautifully furnished.. spacious n luxurious. clean and the Xmas tree was an additional bonus. like that it’s tucked away in peace and quiet but only 15 drive if want to get some action. landlord stayed behind us and they were very responsive when we encounter any problem. They made the effort of walking over to pass us some cooking items we forgot to bring and gave us fresh eggs from their chicken on check in date and the following day too when we asked. Due to some filming on the property, owner has reached out to house us in the other property for the first night which is very beautiful too and has offered 200£ as compensation for the inconvenience. Everything worked well, now waiting for the compensation to be transferred.
Nothing

spacious and good location
all bedrooms have en suite
it was a very cold weekend and we needed extra heaters

beautiful and clean, hosts have thought of most things you will need, and even bring you fresh eggs from the hens on the grounds. very spacious, very relaxing.
the hot tub was not working, but this is not the fault of the owners. it was due to be fixed but the wrong part was brought.

We stayed at the Parlour for a girls weekend. The property is stunning and done to a very high standard. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The only issue was on Saturday the power started tripping and it turned out to be a problem with the hot tub which we then couldn’t use. Although this was disappointing, John spent ages trying to sort it out for us and later Lynne (and Oscar the dog) can over with sincere apologies, a bottle of Prosecco and some cash back. There’s not much in the area but we didn’t want to do anything but chill at the property so it was perfect for that. Very peaceful and private and beautiful. Would recommend.

just about everything, both properties are stunning and it was absolutely perfect for some quality family time away. our hosts were great, very attentive and helped with anything we needed.
the ONLY downside was that due to the location being on a farm there are a lot of pesky flies hovering around but there’s not a great deal can be done to prevent that.

what can we say!! it’s immaculate!!! top range facilities, everything you need and all beautiful!!! we already plan on booking again this week for next year!! it’s stunning!!!
only 2 things would be on the parlour a hot tub cover maybe with a retractable roof so in the rain etc you can enjoy it a bit more and it deffo needs a light into the property and a sign as it’s a bit tricky to find in the dark and we ended up in a rather unpleasant farmers field!!

Superb place - really quiet and lovely surroundings, ideal for what we were looking for for our work planning "retreat". Lots of space, a well equipped kitchen, and the hot tub is a lovely touch! We'll certainly be back next time :)

Very high standard and you find everything you need. Maybe missing a coffee pluncher.
Location, fully understood that it was really but no walking paths in the area.

The Parlour is a well equipped, ideally located and tranquil property. Great value for money, and certainly no scrimping in amenities. We will definitely be back.

Very good

The house was excellent, plenty of space for 6 adults and parking for at least 6 cars if required. Inside was superbly furnished with all the bedrooms having an en-suite. John and Lynne were on hand if required and the welcome gift of the bottle of sparkling wine was much appreciated.

The house is situated in the countryside, so no walking to the nearest pub, but it’s a short drive from Belsay village shop (less than 10 minutes) and about 15-20 minutes into Corbridge which is definitely worth a visit. From the house we were able to comfortably reach Alnwick and Holy Island for day trips.

I’d highly recommend the house, and will definitely look to book again next time we holiday in Northumberland.

Amazing place!! Overall 5 star accommodation
The hosts left us a bottle of Prosecco and snacks, thought this was a lovely touch.
The hot tub was great.
Definitely recommend this lovely place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Parlour, the accommodation is exactly as described. Sometimes places look nice but not comfortable, this was 100% on everything.
A little way out but that is clear in the description and a good base to explore local areas.
We would definitely return!

The parlour is beautifully converted and well appointed. It worked really well for a friends weekend away, with lovely walks and a great hot tub that is easy to get to from the house through a utility room. Charming and welcoming hosts.

The accommodation was lovely very spacious, clean and tidy. It met all of our needs.
We didn't stay longer

I stayed at The Parlour for a week for our anniversary - what a fantastic place. Definitely amongst one of the best AirBnbs I've stayed at.

The home is stunning with modern design and the hosts John & Lynne were just incredible. Greeted us with fresh farm eggs and other welcome gifts and were just a stone's throw away in case I needed anything.

The place does have a BIG hot tub/Jacuzzi that fits 6 people comfortably with controllable temperature and fancy lights. The tub is in a private area that is on the front of the house (the hosts live behind the house) so there is ample privacy. We were not once disturbed

Amazing place with super clean and comfortable beds and toilets. Bonus were the weighted duvets that put me out like a light. Surrounding countryside is just stunning with amazing sunsets.

A++++ would highly recommend

The house was absolutely gorgeous, was exactly what we wanted for a girls weekend to celebrate some birthdays! Easy check in, and host just a text away if you needed anything! Would definitely come back!

great house in quiet surroundings.

Great stay in Northumberland - extremely clean and spacious accommodation with a great hot tub.
Hosts communicated well and responded to our requests quickly
Would recommend highly

Beautiful home and property.

Excellent location very quiet lovely surroundings and views. John was excellent and brought us some
Fresh eggs , nice bottle of Prosecco on arrival.

This is a really impressive stay for a very relaxing family break, which is what we used it for. The location is quite remote so perfect for privacy with some lovely walks around. We made good use of the hot tub too! Vindalanda is about 30mins drive away and definitely worth a visit and there's parts of Hadrian's wall pretty much everywhere (if you go for a drive) which is a must really if you stay here! Lilli was a lovely host with some good suggestions, and we enjoyed meeting Oscar the dog! Thanks for having us!

Stunning property, hosts were friendly and helpful.

Really enjoyed our stay, very tranquil location with plenty to see and do roundabout if you so wish. Wish we'd booked for longer!

Paul G.

Everything you could need in the property but a car is a must. Excellent hot tub and attention to detail.
Friendly owner willing to go the extra mile.

loved the luxurious setting in a tranquil area of Northumberland. the furnishings were to an extremely high standard that offered the comfort to enjoy your stay.
liked everything it had to offer.

We have recently stayed at the beautiful Parlour near Matfen, Northumberland. Wow, what a place, stunning location and beautiful property, the photo's look lovely but in reality it is so much more and was perfect for our weekend getaway. The views are amazing and it was lovely to sit out on the hot tub on a summers evening and watch the pink skies over the valley with a glass or two of prosecco (1 bottle supplied by the owners as a lovely welcome gift). Great walks on your doorstop and the gorgeous village of Matfen only a couple of miles down the road with the impressive Matfen Hall, which caters for all sorts of activities, we went for afternoon tea but they also have a great spa & pool, Go Ape and quad bike experience if you fancy something a little more adventurous. We've already started to talk about when we can book again for next summer and we would definitely stay at The Parlour again! Host & Stay were the perfect booking agent with an easy online booking system and prompt, responsive customer service team, ensuring we had all of the information we needed leading up to and throughout our stay. Overall a great experience

Lovely place and exactly as advertised. Hot tub was great.

The Parlour was a great place to stay. John and Lynne are great hosts and they are there to help with any query with maximum efficiency and minimum fuss. The place was decorated beautifully and everything worked including the hot tub. Would love to stay again in future.

Beautiful stay at this converted farm location.
In a secluded and very private area.
Hosts were on hand answer questions or deal with any issues.
Having chickens on site with fresh eggs was a big plus and the kids enjoyed feeding the chickens.
Internet was abit hit and miss but in a secluded break like this you may want to switch off and enjoy the peace.
Huge hot tub was a nice touch.
I left some valuables there which the hosts and the letting company were extremely helpful in returning. (Thank you)
Would definitely recommend a stay here and would consider staying here again.

We had a great time staying at the parlour, everything is brand new and in great condition. Very nice sociable living / kitchen space and comfortable bedrooms all with en-suites. The hot tub was a huge bonus.
Thank you

A beautiful property, immaculately presented and very comfortable. Location very peaceful but with easy access and beautiful views too! We hope to be back soon.

This was our first stay at this beautiful new property in a great location with amazing views. The owners Lynn and John were incredibly accommodating and had set up birthday decorations which were sent prior to our stay for our arrival and had included a wonderful gift for our group. The accommodation is incredibly spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub made our stay which was also set up for our arrival, we look forward to returning in the future, thank you.

Friendly and very helpful hosts. The property was fabulous , clean and modern and set in a quiet beautiful country location. Lovely decor and ammenties. We made good use of the hot tub too!

Fantastic spacious accommodation. The beds were large and incredibly comfortable. All the amenities of home and then some extras. Plenty of space for our two families plus cars. Hot tub was the icing on the cake. Great location in the middle of the countryside, brilliant views and only 35 mins from the centre of Newcastle if you want some city experience. Hadrians wall a short drive with lots of other places to see and things to do all within a short radius. Check-in and out easy as pie. Excellent host (farm next door).

Home Truths

The Parlour is located in a small, private development so it's perfect if you're looking for a peaceful retreat in the countryside. However if you're looking for shops, restaurants and nightlife within walking distance, this property wouldn't be suitable.
