Great location, by all the bars and eating places, also close to the water front. On street parking directly outside the property with more on the streets leading onto Milton Street. The studio pod was clean and well equipped with everything you would need for a short stay.

This flat is in a great location. A very short walk away is a supermarket, independent shops and the beach! The bed was so comfortable and lovely clean sheets.. reminded me of a hotel bed. There were excellent kitchen facilities and tv. The only thing was there was dust on skirting boards in the bathroom and the shower wasn’t great. However, we enjoyed a comfortable stay here and would book again when we next visit Saltburn.

Great location to bars, restaurants, public transport. We love Saltburn andcthe flat was spot on for what we required. There was nothing not to like, but maybe the communal areas of the property needs some TLC.

Pretty much everything! Kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed, including sharp knives ... always good. Bed was comfy, it was very clean and well positioned to access cafes, eating establishments and shopping. Would have liked some basic items to clean the bathroom

We have stayed in the Studio Pods on several occasions and have always been impressed by them. On this occasion there were a few things that were not so good but they are easy things to rectify and I feel confident that I won't have these issues when I stay there again.

Location and the cleanliness We were informed that we were in Pod 3 but when we accessed the key box to pod 3 the keys were for pod 1 on the ground floor we were disturbed twice out of the 2 night with the noise transferring from the pod above. This was due to the laminated floor installed echoing the footsteps of the person walking about from when the come back to the pod at midnight. This happens on both night disturbing our sleep. We could also hear the TV and what appeared to be dragging a chair across the floor and the opening and closing of the cupboard doors, I feel that the dividing floor does not meet current acoustic standards required for HMO’s

Perfect location near the train station and near to shops and easy to get the the beach etc. Well equipped and comfortable Had difficulty with the keys - the code was unclear - mistook a B for an 8. Main issue was the noise from the pod upstairs. No soundproofing so I heard every footstep - very loud.

Attractive and comfortable accommodation in a really convenient location. Parked right outside, yet close to the seafront. Walked from the house to the front and along the cliffs - superb! Great bars and restaurants in the same street too, and big Sainsbury’s over the road. Great base for exploring the North Yorkshire coast.

I booked this apartment with holidaylettings.com who are also staynorthyorkshiretripadvisor@user.guesty.com and was diverted to hostandstay.co.uk the managing agents. All very confusing. I booked Studio Pod 2 in Saltburn – by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire. The Price summary for the four days comprised of, Rental Cost, Booking Fee, Cleaning Fee and showed a Total Price and the FULL Payment of £435.10. I paid this believing it to be the TOTAL amount due as they had declared, thus forming a contract between us. If the price displayed is not a fixed offer, but liable to change before the traveller makes a booking, this must be made clear under the Consumer Rights Act. The price has to be calculated and be clearly explained to the customer as directed in the brochure or website; this was not. They must include any non-optional extra charges in the basic price and must not show them as additions. This is all clearly lain out by the Consumer Rites act 2015 However, after I had paid, I was informed about the insurance that had to be paid before I would be given the code necessary to gain access and was given two alternatives. Therefore, breaching their contract with me, as it should have been declared before I paid and to cancel my booking meant I would have incurred a charge. I complained about this to Charlie the ‘Host and Stay manager’, but only received a load of platitudes and nothing about having added it after the declared total price. Clearly English was not this persons first language and only ever acted as a letterbox. An apology for any confusion was made? There was no confusion on my part, only on theirs. This had been brought to their attention by other guests, years before, (see the reviews) but it was never amended This was typical of any points I raised with the Host and Stay’s manager. As I later reported on arrival that there were no tea towels or sink cloths and the kitchen waste bin was in a dangerous condition, etc. No response! Despite the above, the Hosts repeatedly told me “How excited they were” that I was coming to stay. They must have been so excited that they failed to tidy up the entrance where there are weeds growing and pieces of the cement pointing scattered around. The outside door to the flats, was ill fitting and needed attention, previous attempts were obvious but had clearly failed. The same applied to the door of Pod 2 where screws were loose and hanging out. Inside there were the very minimum about of items, cutlery etc, the tap on the wash basin of the bathroom shed water on the edge of the sink, when it was turned on low, and water ran to the floor, and if allowed to continue would have flooded the place (we placed a cloth around it to prevent it as a temporary measure) There was black mold in the corner of the bath, not inviting. So will I stay here again -NO NEVER or have anything to do with Host and Stay in the future or Holiday Lettings.com

Location was perfect They did not inform us of the code for the keybox by email as they said would be the case. Attempts to contact someone when the code had not arrived by 4pm failed. We eventually found a text message with the code

The pods are in a good location and well appointed. We were aware of other guests staying in the pod above us as the floor boards were very creaky!

Flat has been advertised on AirBnb to be equipped with washing machine and that was one of the main reasons why I made booking. Apparently, there is no washing machine in the property and when I pointed this out to landlord they offered to find laundry for me without any explanation why information on AirBnb was misleading. As I work as a contractor near by and was staying in the property for 3 weeks I had to waist my time and money to go to local laundry to wash my clothes. For all of those reasons I’ve requested refund from landlord (Host&Stay) but they simply ignored this. Only when I send complaint to AirBnb they‘be finally reacted and offered me compensation. Be aware of this landlord as the are not trying to be proactive and to help their guests.

The room was clean, tidy and roomy and the facilities were good. The house is well placed in Saltburn being just across the road from the Railway Station and shops and restaurants. The beach is only 5 mins away. Milton Road has a lot of unrestricted parking so it is possible to park close by.

Lovely self contained studio done to a very high standard and everything you needed even complimentary tea, coffee and coffee pods and sachets of milk on arrival. The location is great on the main street. Good communication too at all times. We had to pay £20 to cover deposit for property none returnable or pay £150 for deposit and provided everything ok £140 would be returned taking a £10 admin fee - sorry don't agree with this and didn't see till after we had booked.

Furniture/appliances all good, location very convenient - Sainsburys nearby most useful I had difficulty using some of the appliances, no manuals or instructions available, I phoned Host and Stay re this but it took 7 phone calls and 2hrs before the problem was resolved. The damage protection requirement was not mentioned before booking. I have informed Host and Stay of these issues.

Saltburn is very quiet but weather was not good so this could have been reason. Not a lot there but suited us. Very nice place and will return. The studio pods we stayed in was very clean the bed was very comfortable would definitely recommend it. Location couldn't have been better. We paid a insurance for if anything got damaged. Wasn't told about this until we booked and payed. This was put on extra after you can not get key code until it is paid. We got a message off host asking if anything got damaged would we inform them if we didn't we would be charged. Isn't the insurance we paid for that. Either way we would inform them.

Well stocked kitchen with everything you would need. Comfy bed. Perfect location right next to train and supermarket and everything within a short walk.

Things I liked: The flat was as described. I didn't use many of the kitchen facilities, but they looked great, smart and modern. Milk, coffee machine with pods were provided which was most welcome. The bathroom was fine. Apart from a slightly scruffy carpet by the bed, the room had been cleaned to a high standard. I felt comfortable there. Things I didn't like: Noise from neighbouring areas affected me but I had brought earplugs to mitigate. Also I used eye shades as the window blinds didn't block out enough light. The windows are all frosted glass, so there are no views at all from the flat. The biggest issue I had was the additional and unexpected charge, and wasted time in responding to excessive numbers of messages and making a payment, for damage protection cover - all for a 2 night stay. Details of the additional charge were well hidden in the listing and I was not aware that hosts were able to opt out of Airbnb's general damage policy until now. Therefore I won't be using

The location was superb and the studio pod had everything that I needed for one weeks holiday. I was in Studio pod 2, which is on the first floor. I could hear the people in the pod above me whenever they were walking around which at times became very annoying.

The studio itself was nice - clean and serviceable and near where we needed it to be. However, prior to booking I asked Charlie, the host whether the studio was on the ground floor, as my partner had mobility issues. I was assured that both of his properties - Pod 2 and Pod 3 were ground floor. So…I booked it. We arrived at the property and entered and saw the studio was on the first floor with, I think 13 stairs. My partner really struggled. We stayed 2 nights but he could only go up and downstairs once per day so if we went out for the day - we had to stay out for the evening. Host & Stay were not helpful - at all. I called them, they assured me they would call back and they never did the whole 3 days. The conversation I had with the host via messages completely disappeared on Air B&B, so I had no proof. The host (Charlie), who I only spoke to 10 days ago denied all knowledge and said he wanted to sort things out before I left a bad review - then never contacted me!! Appalling!

Location was perfect, easy to get parked outside the apartments, spotlessly clean, comfy bed (pod 2 has a larger bed) good shower. We didn't cook as short break but everything you could need in full kitchen including dishwasher and was also a coffee machine. Not I didn't like but a nice to have would be more hangers and a hair dryer (unless I missed it!!)

Studio was not clean. Full of flies and no toilet paper. Luckily Sainsbury over road for some air freshener and toilet paper. Reported to Host.

I recently stayed at this Airbnb and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The location was great, with easy access to nearby shops, the train station and close access to the sea. The host provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out. I would definitely consider staying here again for its convenience and reasonable pricing.

There was only one problem with this apartment which was disappointing as the location, decor and amenities were good. Unfortunately, as you find in a lot of similar style properties there is very little soundproofing. Given the wood/laminate floor throughout the bathroom and kitchen area we could hear every footstep, chair move, bed creaking from the upstairs apartment. We may have been unlucky with occupants upstairs moving around a lot and until the early hours but it's something to consider.

We visited Saltburn for a wedding, our stay was very pleasant. The room was clean, spacious & overall very accommodating.

Apartment was very well equipped and the kitchen and bathroom very clean. Just a few snags, the toilet seat was loose and the bathroom blind didn't work also the plinth on the sink unit in the bathroom was broken, pedal bin in kitchen had a broken pedal and the bedroom area hadn't been vacuumed. After having to pay £250 deposit for breakages you worry that you will be charged for the loose toilet seat etc.

Enjoyed our stay had a small issue at start but this was sorted out very quickly and once sorted we enjoyed our stay very close to the beach and the room had everything we needed very impressed really enjoyed

Ideally situated especially as we travelled by train. The station was two minutes walk away. Near to restaurants & shops and the beach & valley gardens nearby. The studio pod was clean, comfortable and warm. Communication regards the stay was informative & detailed although a little over the top regards the amount of repetitive messages/ e mails. My only criticism as raised by other reviewers is the hidden costs. £250 deposit or insurance cover is quite excessive.

Great location and lovely studio. Felt a bit bombarded by emails and texts from Host & Stay, particularly reminding us of our check out time and requirements. Would have been helpful to have had a hard copy of the guest guidebook in the studio as well as access to it online.

More spacious and better equipped than anticipated. On the whole, the apartment was clean. Starter supply of tea, coffee and milk was appreciated. Free on street parking was handy. Black mark on bedding, mould in corner of bath. Didn’t realise the apartment was at top of house, and the two flights of stairs with luggage was not ideal. Glassware had to be washed, as they were finger-marked. We were awoken at 5.30 am on the morning of departure by the fire alarm! Owners did not answer their phone when another resident tried to contact them. The fire brigade was summoned by another resident. Happily, no fire was detected and the alarm was turned off.

Self catering. Location excellent when you found the premises. The stay almost went wrong from the start when it appeared that there was no hot water and this was discovered at 10.30 p.m. the night of our arrival. After an hour trying to find out the reason going through procedure manuals which did not seem to help, it turned out that the tap in the hand basin in the bathroom had been plumbed in the wrong way so that to get hot water, you had to turn it cold. everything had been set up to operated automatically and it was o.k. after that. What I did not like was the constant bombarding with e-mails from Host & Stay reminding us that we had to verify the booking at least 7 days before arrival., 8 days before arrival, I received an e-mail to say that the booking was at the point of being cancelled due to non--verification when this had been done 2 days previously. there had to be several telephone conversations to clear up minor problems.

I can't recommend due to the deposit situation. They took a deposit of £250 plus a £10 admin fee which meant I had £250 taken off my card for weeks. I've never stayed anywhere that has taken a deposit off me like this and I have stayed in hotels in 86 countries around the world. It just isn't something that happens and it's really unfair as I had to take photos of everything in case of a dispute, I did get the money back but the anxiety that money could be taken for any reason was horrible. It was like renting somewhere and worrying you didn't clean it enough when you leave so not a relaxing holiday at all. Also, the property would be covered by insurance in case of damage, yes people do damage places but it isn't the norm and I would have cancelled it if it wasn't non-refundable.

Closed to all the amenities. Room was well laid out, it had everything what we needed. Lack of sound proofing, the noise from the room above, could hear them moving around and their voices.

Clean lovely space. I call this a spreadsheet space. Everything is calculated to maximize return. No contact, tons of warnings rules, zero personality. Damage deposit, the only one I have seen, was excessive and held way too long. Warnings to be out because cleaners to arrive by 10am, okay fair timing but tone was awful. And if cleaners are there by 10am, why is the damage deposit held for so very long. As I said, squeeze all they can, treat guests like sheep, and hold their money. Great financing plan, for them. Will never agree to such terms again.

Lovely clean comfortable accomodation , would definately stay again. Local eateries and supermarket close by. Adequate parking on the street... Nice touch having milk in the fridge , tea bags and cleaning things available. Also good communication with host and stay sending all relevang information needed for our stay.. We were in pod 2 we could hear people above walking around etc it wasnt too bad just a niggle.

Great accommodation and in a convenient location. I agree with other reviews that you can hear when people in the flat upstairs are moving around but this wasn't a big issue for us.

Not impressed with the hidden costs. Not enough sound proofing between the pod and the one above. Noisy neighbours kept us awake. This property was our second choice as our initial booking was cancelled without explanation.

Studio Pod 2 was perfect for what I needed. Easy parking, close to the town and the beach. Few shops nearby The area is dead quiet, the room was well-equipped and cosy. Very enjoyable stay. The only issues I had were with Host & Stay themselves.

Well equipped kitchen, missing only a bread board/knife. Fresh milk and ground coffee, including a Nespresso machine with pods. Modern and stylish furniture. Very close to restaurants, bars and shops Can see the sea (just) out of the window from Pod 3. Layout of bed and wardrobe, tight to get past and open drawers and door. Banister height on stairs to 2nd floor were very low, which made climbing down awkward for someone tall who needs the banister to descend safely.

The studio pod was very well resourced. The kitchen had a coffee maker and coffee pods, salt and pepper and a teapot which was very welcome. As was the pint of milk in the fridge. The accommodation was furnished to a very high standard and was very clean. I would have liked a full length mirror but it was not essential.

Perfect pit stop accommodation in centre. Comfortable bed with excellent kitchen supplies. Happy wifh everything.

We spent 3 nights in Pod 2 enjoying the lovely seaside town of Saltburn. The pod had everything we needed and we didn't want to leave!

The location was excellent. Right across the street was a Sainsburys supermarket and Saltburn train station. Along the street were some lovely new cafe bars and restaurants and several minutes down the road behind the property was the beach. The property itself was the perfect size. Small but spacious all newly fitted out with the usual mod cons. The bathroom was beautiful. All in all it was clean and relaxing. Although we didn't hear much noise, the outdoor bins were right outside our ground floor apartment which made me feel a little uneasy about opening the windows. It was totally secure but anyone from the other apartments who were taking their rubbish out would easily see through the middle window so we kept the blind down. We also noticed halfway through our stay the noise coming from the apartment above. Whoever was staying there frequently walked up and down daily and the noise was very loud.

The pod was surprisingly spacious, newly done, clean and well equipped.access and parking we're good. Noise of people moving about above, particularly during a fairly early check out time for 10am.

The location was great for what we needed. A couple of shops very local to the accommodation meant that there were no issues at all when we needed anything at all. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, etc. The studio had everything that we needed and was very clean and well presented.

The location was brilliant- opposite Sainsburys and town (yet somehow quiet) and a 5 minute walk to the sea. It looked exactly like the photos- brand new, modern, fresh and clean, including full kitchen facilities. Parking was available on the street outside. Arriving and departing instructions were easy to follow. The windows are mostly frosted as the pod is by a bin area (seemed well kept so I wouldn't worry about smell). The toilet is really close to the bath which might be an issue for a larger person. No hairdryer I didn't like having to upload my driving license to a third party to verify the booking.

Lovely recently opened studio with very comfy bed. Superb accommodation in idea location. With all that was needs for a short break. Clean and bright. Free on street parking right outside the property. A short walk from bars and eateries for a evening meal and drink after spending the day on the beach or walking the lovely coastal paths.
