Well decorated
Fantastic location
Heating wasn’t working, plenty blankets and portable heaters on hand to use
Excellent location with a beautiful view, the interior was well presented with up to date colours and quality furniture. The beds were extremely comfortable. A spacious apartment, and well equipped kitchen with the complimentary coffee, tea and milks being a bonus. Private parking is a big plus too.
It was very stormy outside and 8 degrees but sadly we couldn’t get the central heating to work, we tried all the options and the radiators remained cold, so we had to use the two storage heaters provided, but sadly the plug point in the back bedroom didn’t allow the heater to be plugged in as it was at the back of the bed, so that was a cold room.
Also a lack of mirrors, the bathroom would definitely benefit from one, and I’d rather not have to climb and stand on the bed to reach the mirror in the master bedroom. Also shame the telescope doesn’t work and it’s just a prop.
Central heating didn't work, so freezing in the property, host would not resolve it or compensate us, couldnt soen one evening in property as so cold, wouldn't recommend, host unresponsive.
The location was amazing, with fantastic views of the coast and Bamburgh Castle. Beds and chairs were all very comfortable.
Unfortunately the heating didn't work, so we had to use the two electric heaters. And a very small note that we used up the two rolls of toilet paper provided, so it would have been good to have some spare in the cupboard.
We've been to Seahouses before so we were keen to stay by the beach. The Puffin's Nest was right on the seafront, with views looking out onto the beach and sea. It was really peaceful but also very close to walk into Seahouses itself - about 10 minutes I think. The flat was lovely and was easy to find. The parking was a little tricky, but I think that's probably due to my driving :-) Overall, it's a great place and we'd love to stay there again.
The view
Smell of damp
Broken furniture
Lack of crockery
No mirror in rooms or too high in others
The view is absolutely perfect.
No wifi is a big disadvantage. There were no mirrors in the property (except in one bedroom where you would have had to stand opn the bed to use it).
Space and view
Needs a mirror in the bathroom, from the girls, not me.
The apartment was lovely, comfortable, clean and lovely views
Only one small issue with the bed in one of the rooms that faced the back of the property. It is sloped downwards so you slide to the bottom of the bed .
The location is stunning, a 10 minute walk to the centre of Seahouses and the beach is just over the road with a 5-10 min walk down to it. The apartment itself was nice but it needs work. The entry is via a set of steep metal stairs which my mother struggled with and we weren’t told of this in advance. There were scuffs and marks on a lot of the walls, the vacuum cleaner had exposed wires, one of the shower taps was loose and started to hang off, I found squished dead bugs on the main bedroom blind, the doors all scrape shut so we disturbed each other when getting up. I found cobwebs and dust behind a set of drawers in my room and on the bedside lamp, this didn’t help my allergies. We both had issues with the beds, we ended up sliding out of them, think this was due to the mattress and the sheets fabric. Raised all these issues with host and was promised someone would come and rectify but they didn’t. All in all, it’s a nice spot but it’s currently not worth the price being charged
Fab location, amazing views, spacious master bedroom
Had we been at full occupancy there would not have been enough comfortable seating for everyone (small 3 seater couch and 1 easy chair), lacking mirror in the bathroom previously mentioned in other reviews, stairs a bit steep and could be problematic for people with mobility issues - reasonable gap between metal stairs and wall of the building, no garden as such just very small area for car parking.
The location was good
Broken chairs left in wardrobe leaving only four chairs when property was for six Xmas tree left in wardrobe dirty crockery insufficient crockery no bathroom mirror blind in bathroom fell down when closed bedroom blind broken cupboard door had to be wedged shut to avoid it hitting lightbulb two bedroom doors didn’t close properly and appeared not to fit frame outside safety light not working doormat full of sand stains on skirting board all showing insufficient cleaning and attention to detail pre arrival
Booking agent notified immediately and email response over weekend was swift but no action taken in spite of request for blinds chairs and safety light which was illuminating the outside metal stairway to be sorted
Great location, fantastic views
Apartment in need of TLC
Great location, good sized rooms and view is fantastic.
A few minor repairs required but advised agent who replied straight away and they will be dealt with. Staircase to property is steep which may put some people off.
Beautiful location with superb views
Fantastic location. Sunrise and sunset both visible from the apartment or the stunning beach 2mins walk away.
The view from The puffins nest is fabulous! Sunrise across the sea, with The Farne Isles just off-shore takes some beating. Comfy beds. Practical bathroom.
Kitchen fine, but rather basic - few chipped/cracked plates. Freezer box so iced up, it couldn't be closed properly; we defrosted it.
The magnificent views and being so close to the beach. The spacious sitting room and well equipped kitchen.
Some of the equipment and furniture was not functioning well. Can opener, bathroom had no mirror, television had limited channels and there was no internet. The dining chairs seemed old and cumbersome. I had a couple stay on 2 nights. The husband had a dining chair collapse under him one night as it’s metal frame buckled. He fell backwards. He is 75 years old so this was distressing for him and his partner. I am now being told I have to pay for the chair!
This property has been obviously set up for rentals w/o anybody trying to live there. For example, the light in the bathroom is super bright and motion activated -- imagine going there at night... and the sensor doesn't "see" the shower, so the light goes off just as you've shampooed your head. The kitchen isn't equipped for cooking (no functional knives, only one pan and a huge one at that, some drawers cannot open because they run into handles of others, no dish soap provided and exactly one kitchen towel). Also, there seems to be no ongoing maintenance: the mirror in the bathroom is gone (there are remnants of the fixture), the telescope is broken, one of the beds was "adjusted" to have uneven leg heights -- we couldn't fix it w/o tools. The fridge is tiny and the freezer shelf is overgrown with ice. The "dryer" for laundry is probably the heated towel rack in the bathroom, yes, you can dry your bath-suit on it but that's about it. There is no washer.

The instructions for finding the place are technically accurate but the driveway is not distinguishable from others and hard to recognize from the road. As we were driving around looking for it, some frustrated local said that it's "always those people looking for Puffins Nest!" so I'm sure we weren't the first ones to get lost. A bigger sign would help.

Having said that, the view from the living room is great and both the beach and the town is a short walk away with all the vacation pleasures you might expect there.
We stayed in a lovely house in seahouses called Puffins nest. We booked as a short break to get away from it all. The account matched the photos, it was lovely and the view was amazing. We could see the sea from bed and bamburgh castle from the window. We got to see lovely sunset over the castle. My daughter loved the house. The hosts were very helpful, friendly and responsive to any question. Check in and out was smooth and we were given lots of helpful information about the area and to find the property. Such a lovely place would be happy to return again.
Location and view were excellent. Apartment was comfortable and clean.
No mirrors in the bathroom. Could have also done with condiments etc in kitchen cupboard and perhaps a welcome pack.
Gorgeous view, great location. We will definately be back and will recomend it to others.
loved the location the views were amazing
the fire escape stairs to access the property we had elderly parents with us in there eighties it was extremely difficult for them I wouldn’t have booked it I’d of know. this. lack of mirror and bin in bathroom and lack of electric sockets in the two back bedrooms.
The view from the lounge was amazing.
We all thought we should have had a dish washer. Also no mirror over the sink in bathroom, we put the mirror from third room in it.
Great weekend stay. Fabulous location. Across from the beach and close to town.
Lovely location with excellent views of the sea from the living room and one bedroom.
Access stair was steep and narrow. This was not highlighted in the particulars.
Close to the beach
Booked again
Could've done with more seating in lounge, there were 6 of us and seating was limited
The view was spectacular! The location was ideal for walking into Seahouses. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was really clean and seemed new.
The metal access stairs to the property. It wasn’t mentioned in the initial information and we had two dogs and a disabled child. The mismatched cutlery, mugs and glasses in the kitchen, they could do with being updated. The Hoover didn’t work on carpet and with two dogs we tried to hoover and it didn’t pick up at all.
We were blown away by the accomodations location. The view across the sea and beach was spectacular.
The accomodation is clean and tidy.
The check in process is simple and clear.
The locality to amenities such as restaurants and shops is ideal for us, a brisk 8 minute walk.
Access to the beach is only a 3 minute walk.
The water pressure, temperature and shower were great. The premises has a great heating system that meant we didn't need to be constantly turning heating up and down to be comfortable during our stay.
The dining area is carpeted, though not a detrimental factor, those with young children should bear this in mind. There is an easy to clean floor in the hallway and kitchen though.
The access steps are quite steep with short rising and going, again not a detrimental factor, but something to be aware of.
We are looking forward to hopefully having a return visit in the near future to see some more of the beautiful surroundings.
Great views
Very Cold on arrival had to turn heaters on and go back out dirty cutlery didn't appreciate constant emails regarding leaving time
- location was perfect right in the shore with amazing views.
- quite difficult to find!
Lovely cottage, quiet location on the canal. perfect for a few days walking but limited places to eat in Fort Augustus if that is what yu would like. (We were there in February though so pretty quiet).
Location. Size of apartment. Nice and warm. Lovely views.
Picture showed telescope facing the sea however their were no lens so unable to use and my grandson was dissapointed as had been looking forward to using it. Their was no mirror in large bedroom and 1 electic socket not working. Hallway had stains on the wall, would benefit from a freshen up.
Location description was not great, took us too long to find access, no sign post, also metal stairs to access property were not mentioned, allows pets but stairs not safe, needs to be mentioned just in case anyone struggles with stairs
Couldn’t get hold of anyone, women who eventually answered did not speak very good English, access to property not described easily, google location given sends you round the other side. Pillows not comfy. Bed in room opposite main bedroom on a slant. No intrusive tons on how to use anything, fire in main room wouldn’t work.
the apartment being upstairs with views out to sea. it was warm and clean with comfy beds and a lovely bathroom
don’t like it is a bit too much but we were disappointed with the mis-match with cutlery and cookware in the kitchen and had to wash items before use. kitchen equipment needs to be reviewed and restocked especially if apartment had full capacity.
The apartment is lovely and a great stay. However, the location that every map app takes you to is not the right one it's about 5 buildings over. Host and Stay were essentially useless when I called as they have never been to the property. They also didn't send me a verification email so I was delayed when checking in. It took 2 hours for me to check in from when I arrived due to the poor service by host and Stay and the wrong location.

if they provide a sign like all the other rentals do and update the location error then it would be a great place to rent for everyone.

All in all we had a great time but a 2 hour wait to check in due to the company's error without so much as an email to apologise isn't okay in today's world of business.
A very pleasant stay.
Lovely location, lovely flat with lovey decor, only thing that was a let down as not enough hot water. I messaged the owner to be informed on first night hot water was on demand and then when we ran out of water on second night after one bath and after few messages back and forth we were informed, water was provided by tank and had to be filled up once hot used.
Thanks
Spacious 3 bed with wonderful views. Close to Seahouses with good Co-op and plenty of restaurants. Amazing beach walking to Bamburgh and along the coast.
Little difficult to find the apartment. Kitchen utensils limited, 1 pan and a frying pan. Mismatch of cups and glasses.
Pros: great location, lovely views, peaceful, warm, comfortable, nice bathroom
Cons: poorly equipped kitchen, broken microwave, no dishwasher (contrary to online listing)
The views were amazing. The location great - straight across the road from the sea and a 5 minute walk to the centre of Seahouses. The bed and bedding in the main bedroom was very comfy. The decor was lovely, most furniture seemed very new.
It was not clear the apartment was accessed at the back of the house up an outdoor metal staircase. We had our dog and it wasn’t good for taking out in the dark and wouldn’t be easy for elderly or very young guests. There was no signage to indicate which door was Puffins Nest and as we weren’t aware it was up the metal stairs at the back we struggled to find it. The neighbour helped us but it doesn’t seem fair to inconvenience them every time a guest arrives for the sake of a couple of signs. Accessing the drive was pretty narrow and the parking at the back just about big enough for our car but tricky to manoeuvre out. It also says there is a garden with this property but the only garden belonged to the other apartment so we couldn’t use it for the dog or for us to be/sit outside so no outside space to use, except parking. The glasses and mug selection was very random! There was a Krups coffee machine but no pods left so pointless. The lino in the hall was loose in places so had to be careful. We couldn’t get the central heating to work and as we were only there 3 nights didn’t want to get anyone in to sort it. There were other heaters which did warm the room, just took a while. The blind in the main bedroom had a broken winder so my husband had to manually wind it up and down which was a bit annoying. The views were amazing but it was a shame the outside of the windows were smeary/cloudy so wasn’t clear to see properly. Despite all of this it was a lovely place to stay and I would consider going back.
We had a lovely family holiday, comfy beds although 6 adults may struggle ideal if children in your party. The only downside is the outside metal steps to access the property my 85 year old mother struggled but fine if your fit and healthy. Close to centre an easy stroll. Everything you need is provided and internet works well, the bathroom is stunning
Fabulous view across the Farne Islands
no proper mugs, we had to go and buy our own, very poorly equipped kitchen with one griddle pan, no frying pans, don’t even think about cooking a meal unless you are bringing your own
Lovely property and a great location!
It’s a lovely property and we’re enjoying our time here. The flat is decorated to a high standard with a lovely sea view!

However the pillows are all very hard and deep so we both found it difficult to sleep comfortably. In the end we opted for sleeping on a makeshift pillow out of a towel as that was more comfortable.

The blind in the main bedroom is broken at the pulley mechanism so we had to rolll this up by hand.

The house is advertised for 6 people, with space for 6 in the beds and at the table. However, there are only 4 sets of cutlery. Although there are more than 6 mugs, more than half of these are obviously old/chipped, do not have proper handles and look like they are someone’s cast offs. Not what we’d expect in a property in this price range.

Finally, when people come to stay at a place like this, with a kitchen and dining table, they will most likely be cooking. As such, it would be very helpful to provide basics in the cupboard, such as salt, pepper, spices and oil. It’s lovely that there are teas provided, but the lack of these staples is really inconvenient for cooking.

The property is wonderfully decorated and enjoyable to be in, however it feels as if there’s been an oversight on some of these things which really affect the enjoyment of the stay once you get past the initial impression.
Great stay. Great location!
I was told the key combination over the phone and it worked first time. The door itself looked very tired and some repair work is needed around the frame. Other than that, it was simple to get in. The views are spectacular and the beach access was brilliant. The shower pressure was great.
The property is very poorly sign posted and there is a garage under repair so I was worried about my tires. There should also be a warning because the drive is very narrow and the parking is reserved at the front of the property.
There's no DVD player so we felt a lack of evening entertainment which left us with whatever was on television. The plug sockets are very low and there are switches that don't appear to do anything.
There were a few unfinished elements in the wardrobes, doors quite stiff and the carpets/lino in need of repair but the overall finish was nice.
Fabulous views from the windows across the sea and all the way to Bamburgh castle. Great location- walking distance to Seahouses town amenities, and only 3 miles from Bamburgh. Accessed Alnwick castle as well as Holy island.
Flat was clean, all of the furniture was lovely and comfortable for our stay. We had a little difficulty finding the door to the flat, it is round the back of the building up a flight of stairs, the owner of the property below mentioned guests often find it difficult to find the entrance. Unfortunately, the listing wasn’t accurate for the flat, some of the items listed were not available for us to use. However, we still had an enjoyable holiday and the location is great for exploring Northumberland.
Beautiful location. Perfect for a family break. We had one small child and brought our dog along also. It was a perfect beach holiday with lots of other attractions near by.

The location cannot be beaten. Amazing views. Close to the beach and also in easy walking distance to the village.

The inside is perfect for everything you need. Comfortable and cosy.
Absolutely stunning views from property and perfect distance to access beach and the town within minutes for both. The property was a great size, modern and had everything needed.
House was accessed at back up quite a large set of stairs ,may not be suitable for all .
the location and views make this property special
The builders fixing the garage had left wood and debris where car should be parked. It wasn't clear to us the apartment was up stairs at the back, there is no sign, puffins nest. Your neighbour is frustrated with people parking at the front, some signs and having a clear area at the back would help. The TV didn't have BBC and freeview was so patchy across internet not worth watching, there is no dishwasher or wash machine. The cups and cutlery cheap, in fact the cheapness of the furntiture and fittings detract from the location, which is excellent. Beds were hard and pillows to.
Fabulous location. Wonderful views. Attractive modern furnishings. Good bathroom & shower
Poor communications & information.
Only just enough cutlery for 4 people.
Strange assortment of glasses & mugs
