3 The Mount

Excellent location for a stay in Whitby, right near the whalebones and the West beach. The house actually seems much bigger than in the photos, it is light, airy and warm. We all appreciated the eco freindly products in the bathrooms. Only having one parking space for a house that sleeps 6 was tricky but there is a decent pay and display car park down the hill by the West beach so factor in just over a tenner a day onto the price of this property for extra parking, also a cleaning fee and refundable damages deposit. Directions and access to the property is tricky, and we needed clearer instructions to find the house and parking space. We ended up using the local carpark more than the airbnb space as check in wasn't until 4pm and check out is 10am. Everything else was very well communicated to us by our host and they regularly messaged. Wi-Fi instructions need updating to current network. Kitchen cupboards, kitchenware and carpets needed a more thorough clean. We enjoyed our stay!

Fantastic location right on west cliff, nice modern property two bedrooms have an ensuit and there's a bathroom for the other one well equipped kitchen has everything you need a few basic cleaning products supplied towels and travel sized toiletries supplied which is a nice touch for self catering one parking space<br/><br/>Windows in living room have a privacy film on them so you can't actually see the veiw from your vantage point at the top of the hill which is a bit strange clear windows and curtains/blinds would have been much better<br/>Property was actually quite hard to find we drove past it twice and had to call their helpline which was pointless as it goes through to a central line and the lady couldn't help us find the property anyway as she didn't know the area<br/>The basement bathroom needs some kind of shelf as there's nowhere to put a toothbrush or toiletries same with the shower<br/>A few basic cleaning misses cobwebs on living room ceiling neither staircase had been hoovered lamps/lighbulbs headboard and ornaments in basement bedroom very dusty<br/>All Living room windows covered in bird poo

The location was very good and the property was finished to a very high standard .<br/><br/>The additional insurance for damage was not clearly explained at the time of booking it was hidden in the small print and was not necessary why not include it in the upfront cost ? Plus the kettle was faulty it should have been checked and replaced before we arrived .

Have a great stay nice and close to the town centre great vue out of the kitchen window

Very unhappy that I had to pay an extra £25.00 to get the keys<br/><br/>I asked if we could use a second car parking space if the other accommodation was not in use. Was told no but the spaces remained empty the whole time. Ended up spending an extra £22.00 on parking

Excellent location and amenities

Excellent property for a family weekend away, we really liked it, good location

The house was perfect. It was well equipped with everything we needed... there were plenty of towels and kitchen utensils, etc.. Everything was clean and very homely. We were able to cook a few dinners during our stay. The location was great, and being able to sign into Netflix and other streaming services was a nice bonus.<br/><br/>The only criticism was that the 2 ground floor bedrooms could have done with blackout blinds in them. When the sun was rising at 4am the bedrooms were so bright it was waking us up.

What a gorgeous property and in such a great location. The location was great because it enabled our family to explore Whitby with ease.<br/>We booked this property to add an extra night onto our Yorkshire staycation and we were so pleased that the property was available. My family had such a lovely stay.<br/>The living area is open plan, clean, and beautifully decorated, which enabled us to spend some quality time together before we headed home the following day. Great memories made together.<br/>We would love to return to this beautiful property!

Beautiful house. Great that 2 bedrooms had ensuites and the other has use of the bathroom. It was very spacious , clean and lovely.

Very easy to walk to all the main areas of Whitby.<br/><br/>Paying extra for insurance, not so much paying, but the mail got lost at the end of other mails and I only realised a couple of days before we went. <br/>Would be better if it was part of the up front cost.

The apartment was lovely, good location and well equipped.<br/><br/>The insurance was a surprise -I have not experienced this with any property on booking.com anywhere in the world. Paying £250 upfront and receiving £240 back meant an extra £10 to factor into the cost of the place. Worse was that it took 2 weeks to return £240 which means the company is making a lot of interest on the funds they are holding - checking the property should take no more than an hour on the day of departure so it is hard to justify hanging on to this money for 2 weeks. Also the website encouraged us to travel by EV, the parking space had a charger and this is clearly shown on the website but when we arrived we discovered that we were not allowed to use it. This meant we had to find a charger elsewhere and there were not many in the town - this feels like mis-information and was very disappointing.

An extra set of keys would be good as our party went to 2 different places at one time <br/>We couldn’t get hob to work - got it turned on but could get the hob sections to heat up - an instruction manual would be good

Very conveniently located, the house was very modern, clean and very well equipped. <br/>Also we slept very well, as the beds were very supportive and everything was generally very comfortable.

Very clean and tidy. The photos are accurate and the property has everything you need. Quiet location above the town with lovely views of the harbour a short walk away. Above all, there was plenty of space for all of us.

Beautiful place, great location and perfect for us. So clean and huge! Would definitely recommend and stay again if visiting Whitby.

We had a lovely stay in Whitby with host and stay. Looked better than the photos and great amenities, location, parking etc. I would say very good value for money overall! <br/>The house sadly could have been slightly cleaner - walls and tiles needed a good scrub and we also found a pair of dirty boxers that had been left behind a door in one of the bedrooms (we were a group of 6 women so it certainly wasn’t us!). <br/>Also the way the deposit scheme is slightly frustrating. No confirmation of if you’ll get your deposit back until 7 days post check-out (this is too long) and then another 3-5 days for it to appear back. Because this host has 100’s of properties I appreciate that finding out about individual properties is difficult but I think something that could be improved for guest experience in the future.<br/>Would recommend this place as a lovely place to stay in Whitby.

Clean, modern, spacious and excellent location<br/><br/>Nothing

The house was in an excellent location, and was perfect for our 3 night stay. There was everything we needed and was so clean and modern. We would definitely stay there and again.<br/><br/>The only negative was the check in time of 4pm, meaning we were moving in in the dark.

Really spacious, modern and well equipped with all that we needed for a family weekend away. Nice touches like toiletries, dishwasher tablets, towels etc all provided.<br/><br/>The location is a bit tricky to find. It would also be really helpful to have more parking- although we went out of season and general parking was free. I guess this could be a bit more tricky in peak summer.

The accommodation was spacious and modern, close to central Whitby but just out of the way enough to be quieter. Comfy beds and three showers, four toilets, enough for everyone.<br/><br/>We could have used some extra parking, coming with six adults in different cars. Maybe some shelves for toothbrushes near the sink, and a wire shelf for shower gel, shampoo & conditioner. The TV aerial, or aerial cable may need looking at as the signal was weak.

The Mount property was stunning. Very quiet despite the road. Beautifully presented with real luxury. No views or outdoor space, but a perfect base to explore Whitby. We loved our stay.

Electrical supply to fridge and freezer was not easy to find and looked dangerous when we found it behind a kick boards and prob did not meet electrical installation standards. <br/>WiFi difficult to connect to as wrong connection info in apartment and online info. <br/>Water coming through ceiling in bathroom when we left near a light fitting <br/>TV Aerial connection faulty and went off at inconvenient times <br/>Management not familiar with the property as not local and no local contact available to us . <br/>Really felt we had to sort problems out ourselves and management not interested as a big company with lots of properties everywhere. <br/>Fridge smelt on arrival and should have been cleaned better. Twin bedded room shower/bathroom smelt of stale drain smell. <br/>Towels clean but not great quality

Fantastic accommodation, very clean and in an excellent position for all that Whitby has to offer would definitely recommend it to friends and family and looking at booking to return next year

Location was excellent short walk from harbour and old town. Property well presented and maintained<br/><br/>Roads front and back so some traffic noise during late evenings and early in morning<br/>Strange fusty smell in bathrooms which meanr we has to have exteact fans on most of the day to clear the smell. Returned by morning if turned fans off. Something wrong with the drsins?

A lovely few days in Whitby. Very handy location (can leave the car and walk round Whitby) . Nicely appointed accommodation- clean, new and uncluttered. Would definitely return.

Amazing property beautifully refurbished with modern amenities. 10 minute walk to city center and a great parking spot that’s easy to find. Wish we could’ve stayed more than 1 night.

Unfortunately not as advertised. Whilst the rooms were spacious and each bedroom had a bathroom there were some negatives. The EV charging point was disconnected which was very frustrating as I had contacted host and stay to ensure this was in place as we have an electric vehicle. My husband had to drive out to and wait at alternative chargers through the week missing out on valuable family time on our holiday. The bins were not emptied before or during our stay which attracted vermin and resulted in rubbish all over the floor around the car parking areas. The living room windows had no blinds or curtains which meant in the evening with the lamps on everyone in the surrounding houses and on the street could look in which was not nice. The downstairs bedroom also had no curtains or blinds so the daylight woke us up early in the morning.

Beautiful property in a great location. House was clean, in great condition and was super easy to get into central Whitby on foot and get around. <br/>Only issue, is that the check-in time was quite late (4pm) and the checkout time was quite early (10am). It gave us no time other to basically get in and get out, where even an extra hour or so for checkout would have allowed us to go back to the beach, come and clean up then depart.

This house was very spacious. The bedrooms were good sizes and had their own bathroom. <br/>However, the living room windows had no blinds so people in the houses/hotels opposite could see straight in, as could people walking down the road. The downstairs bedroom also had no blinds or curtains which made it difficult to sleep. The electric vehicle charging points which were advertised (and which I confirmed prior to our arrival by calling host and stay) had been disconnected when we arrived. This had played a big part in us choosing this holiday home. When we brought this to the attention of host and stay on arrival, they were unable to help and we noted that EV charging point was quickly removed from their websites for this property. However, this did not help us as my husband had to find alternative charging arrangements and missed family time sorting out the charging elsewhere. Also the bins we not emptied prior to or during our stay which led to them overflowing and attracting vermin.
