Patio doors open out into the garden where you’ll find outdoor seating for up to 8 people.
The fully equipped kitchen has modern appliances, cookware and utensils so you’ll have everything you could need to enjoy home cooked meals during your stay.
Upstairs on the first floor, you’ll find two ensuite bedrooms. Both rooms feature comfortable king size beds, plush bedding and a large walk in shower. The master bedroom also boasts a balcony facing out onto the garden with outdoor seating.

Neighborhood
Set on the West side of Whitby outside of the hustle and bustle, Highfield House provides the best of both worlds. Just a short 5-minute drive will bring you to the town centre where you can explore cosy pubs, fun arcades and delicious restaurants. Take a stroll along the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff beach and try some local fish and chips.
Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around
Whitby train station is just a short 5-minute drive away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Our family of 8 really enjoyed our mini break at this super accommodation. The location was great, the views were amazing and the house was really lovely and had everything that we needed including parking for two cars. It was very clean, very comfortable and spacious enough for all of us to feel that we had plenty of room. A perfect place for a group of people.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

This is a great find. Brilliant location for Whitby Golf course, Whitby town centre & Sandsend. It is also a short drive to beautiful villages up and down the coast such as Runswick Bay with its fabulaous beach, and Robin Hooods Bay with its quaint harbour and shops. The house is set in a quiet cul de sac with a private garden, which was great for our dogs. The living space and bedrooms were bigger in person than they looked on the photo's which was a nice surprise. Great host with good comminucation throughout. Would recomend and will stay here again.

This property was in a good location for Lidl, beach & local pub. Rooms are a good size & equipped with all that you need. Secure back garden meant we could let our dog outside knowing she was safe. However we did find upon arrival that the garden hadn't been cleared of dog faeces! View from balcony of master bedroom is lovely overlooking the golf course with the sea in the distance. The downside of the master bedroom was that the king size mattress was uncomfortable after a few nights. It was very firm & could possibly benefit from a mattress topper. Unfortunately the kitchen cooker was dirty the fridge had not been cleaned properly & patio doors in the lounge had dirty marks on the glass. Host & Stay didn't respond to all of our comments, even when we supplied photographs of dirty appliances etc. Cleaner turned up before we had checked out & sat waiting in his car on the drive. Make sure that you are aware of Host & Stay's admin fees etc before booking one of their properties.

Beautiful house, rubbish hosts.
The house was spotlessly clean and newly decorated throughout, with well equipped kitchen. Only a 15 min walk to a lovely sandy beach. And about 30 min walk to town centre/pannet park.
But it's run my a management co so every message is just replied to with an automated response. (So it's looks like a great response rate on Airbnb).
Asked a question before arrival, no response.
Hadn't heard anything about key code on arrival day so messaged but no response. Waited at the property for half hour before I found a number to ring and could get through to be let in.
Had an issue with showers not working properly, messaged on 2nd day, no response from owners. On 4th day a plumber arrived unannounced, it was actually just the stop cock wasn't fully turned on (easy fix but you don't want to start messing with someone's plumbing) On our final day everyone could shower. It's a shame as this is a lovely house and great location but the bad communication let it down.

Immaculate property in an excellent location. Lovely simple decor and stylish furniture.
Beautiful views from the back.

No tea towels or washing up liquid and not enough serving dishes. Small points but we at least expected tea towels to dry fragile items which we wouldn't put in the dishwasher.

Responsive host. Highlighted a couple of issues neither of which affected our stay but will need to be attended to. Host offered to sort during our stay but not major enough to require immediate attention.
Nice spacious house in walking distance to Whitby and the beach.

Property was in a quiet area of Whitby and the centre was only a 20/25 minute walk away which suited us perfectly, and it was great having parking for 2 cars. Nice modern decor and 4 large bedrooms.

Nothing really not to like although the downstairs is fairly small compared to the amount of space you have upstairs.

The house was in a quiet location and was fabulous. There were lots of extras like a Nespresso machine with coffee pods, shampoo/conditioner sachets, throwovers, books etc.
The house was spacious for 4 of us and 2 dogs.
The kitchen was well equipped and everything was very clean.
Very handy for walking to the beach (10 minutes) and walking into Whitby (another 20 minutes).
We ordered a Chinese takeaway from Long King in Whitby, which was really good.
Sneaton Castle in Whitby is a nice place for a meal. We went in the evening & the approach was lined with lights. We had a meal in the restaurant; the menu is really varied and the food was beautiful and reasonably priced & staff friendly.
Lidl store 5-10 minutes walk from the house.
Peasholm Park in Scarborough is oriental themed and really pleasant to walk around. It’s free to get in and dog friendly. It’s now out of season so unfortunately the on-site cafe was closed. Car parking nearby.

Highfield House was perfect for our family 6 adults 1 child an infant & 3 dogs. Lovely & modern with very comfortable beds & all the amenities you would expect. We had four good size bedrooms two en-suite & a family bathroom and downstairs toilet. The main bedroom which my wife and I slept has a wonderful balcony with sea views & views across Whitby Golf course, great for that relaxing morning coffee.
We could gently stroll to the beach in 10 minutes & Whitby in approx 30 minutes, walking down Highfield Road turning left at the end keep walking crossing the main road eventually seeing the golf course on the left & the White House Pub ( handy for eats & drinks)with great golf & seaview views.
The coastal path into Whitby is a delight with amazing cliff & Abbey views, we did this on a daily basis. We made the most of 5 days fantastic weather it felt like we were holidaying abroad. If you like Fish & Chips Whitby is the place to be.
Highfield House was perfect base.

The property was excellent, clean, plenty of bathrooms, with a secure garden, fantastic worry free dog area. Bedding was crisp and white, towels were fluffy and plentiful. The parking was excellent, location perfect for going in to Whitby or down on to the beach to walk dogs. The location was quiet, outlook across the golf course perfect and as the property was at the end of a cul de sac, no passing traffic.

No covers for settee to protect from dogs jumping on furniture when locked up at night. Ended up upturning furniture each night!

Highfield House is comfortable and was clean. All modern equipment and facilities. A bonus for holiday lettings was the addition of cleaning materials and condiments. Excellent showers and bathroom.

Parking is at the front of the property but the kerbs are not lowered and the grids and inspection manholes are raised in the road leading up to the property.

The property is just over a mile out of Whitby so easily walkable. Taxis are plenty and not a bad price. There was 6 of us and there was plenty of space. The bedrooms are a really good size. The house is a new build and the decor in the house is modern. Very nice bathrooms. The duvets are nice and bountiful. The balcony off the master bedroom looks out over the golf course and we spotted deer, pheasant and rabbits which was lovely. The kitchen is very well kitted out. The house had everything we needed other than as listed below. We would definitely stay again.

There were hardly any coat hangers so I had to go out and buy some (which we left at the property for other visitors). There was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms so again I had to go and buy some which is fine but it would have been handy to know this beforehand. There was only 1 tea towel in the kitchen which isn't enough for a week's holiday. Luckily I took some myself and a hand towel. Previous visitors had left dog poo on the back garden. Luckily we spotted this before our dog/children and removed it. It would be useful for the cleaners to check this.

Highfield House was excellent for our party of 6 adults, toddler and dog. Very modern, clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. Lovely view from the master bedroom and parking for 2 cars. Additional bonus of having Lidl round the corner. Will definitely recommend.

We.we’re aware of the location of the house before we booked with a 20/30 minute walk into Whitby but on a cold wet December day it seemed further

The room configuration was great, the facilities were all you could need and the location was very handy for town and access to local amenities. It had gorgeous views and a lovely walk along the coastal path was fantastic, really impressed with the bathrooms too, really well done out with a beautiful finish, we really enjoyed our stay and were impressed with the house.

Host and stay are a frustrating company to manage bookings with. They insist on a verification confirmation and charge a non refundable damage waiver or a deposit with a fee attached. I reluctantly completed the verification after being told it was mandatory (this was not stated at the time of booking) and then was badgered by text and email every day sometimes twice or three times a day stating verification was not complete, I eventually dealt with a gent called Ryan who managed to sort this but the harassment by Host and stay was a joke. I'd also requested a high chair which was not provided, and have had these issues before with Host and stay, so gave up trying to engage further with them as honestly I was so frustrated with the company I couldn't deal with the hassle.

There really wasn't anything not to like. Brand new build property. Clean, spacious and a great location. Great secure garden for dogs. ??

Could have done with a hose in garden to wash sand off dogs. Not really a dislike, just would have made it easier cleaning dogs off. ??

Everything ?? spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished to a very high degree, well equipped, very comfortable, stunning views from the bedroom balcony, really comfy beds, private secure garden for our little dog and the grandchildren to play. absolutely perfect.

Only little thing was no drop down kerb onto the driveway but realise it is a fairly new property and together with the raised manholes on the road this will probably be addressed in the future.

very pleasant and well set up house with great layout for families, clean and tidy, had to store ornaments due to being a little fragile around the kids, also strong breeze can slam doors which in turn made 1 or 2 of the pictures on the wall fall off but none of this detracted from a wonderful stay, thanks and would recommend.

Everything is good. The beautiful landscape can be seen from the balcony in the second floor; lovely courtyard provides a place to chat or eat outdoors; clean bathrooms and bedrooms makes everything comfortable; pan, pot and everything you need in the kitchen make cooking possible. The only deficiency is the locked windows in bedrooms in the third floor. Once you open the heaters for too long, it would be too hot to fell asleep and you cannot reduce the indoor temperature by open the windows. Hope this would be improved in the future.

Home Truths
Highfield House is a short 5-minute drive from Whitby town centre.
The property has three floors which means you'll have beautiful views but you will need to climb stairs during your visit.
