Really good bedroom size and enough space for 8 people downstairs.
30mins walk into Whitby and 40mins to Sandsend. Can get to beach in less than 10 mins.
very clean & tidy.
nothing
The house was in a quiet location and was fabulous. There were lots of extras like a Nespresso machine with coffee pods, shampoo/conditioner sachets, throwovers, books etc.
The house was spacious for 4 of us and 2 dogs.
The kitchen was well equipped and everything was very clean.
Very handy for walking to the beach (10 minutes) and walking into Whitby (another 20 minutes).
We ordered a Chinese takeaway from Long King in Whitby, which was really good.
Sneaton Castle in Whitby is a nice place for a meal. We went in the evening & the approach was lined with lights. We had a meal in the restaurant; the menu is really varied and the food was beautiful and reasonably priced & staff friendly.
Lidl store 5-10 minutes walk from the house.
Peasholm Park in Scarborough is oriental themed and really pleasant to walk around. It’s free to get in and dog friendly. It’s now out of season so unfortunately the on-site cafe was closed. Car parking nearby.
Fabulous house, amazing views. Good 30 minute walk into Whitby and it’s a beautiful place
Highfield House was perfect for our family 6 adults 1 child an infant & 3 dogs. Lovely & modern with very comfortable beds & all the amenities you would expect. We had four good size bedrooms two en-suite & a family bathroom and downstairs toilet. The main bedroom which my wife and I slept has a wonderful balcony with sea views & views across Whitby Golf course, great for that relaxing morning coffee.
We could gently stroll to the beach in 10 minutes & Whitby in approx 30 minutes, walking down Highfield Road turning left at the end keep walking crossing the main road eventually seeing the golf course on the left & the White House Pub ( handy for eats & drinks)with great golf & seaview views.
The coastal path into Whitby is a delight with amazing cliff & Abbey views, we did this on a daily basis. We made the most of 5 days fantastic weather it felt like we were holidaying abroad. If you like Fish & Chips Whitby is the place to be.
Highfield House was perfect base.
Wonderful in every sense.
Beautiful house, well equipped and very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
We had a fantastic stay for a nearby family wedding. Everything was very clearly communicated and the house is lovely, new and clean! Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Easy to find. Good location. Very clean and well equipped
N/A
The property was excellent, clean, plenty of bathrooms, with a secure garden, fantastic worry free dog area. Bedding was crisp and white, towels were fluffy and plentiful. The parking was excellent, location perfect for going in to Whitby or down on to the beach to walk dogs. The location was quiet, outlook across the golf course perfect and as the property was at the end of a cul de sac, no passing traffic.
No covers for settee to protect from dogs jumping on furniture when locked up at night. Ended up upturning furniture each night!
Highfield House is comfortable and was clean. All modern equipment and facilities. A bonus for holiday lettings was the addition of cleaning materials and condiments. Excellent showers and bathroom.
Parking is at the front of the property but the kerbs are not lowered and the grids and inspection manholes are raised in the road leading up to the property.
The property is just over a mile out of Whitby so easily walkable. Taxis are plenty and not a bad price. There was 6 of us and there was plenty of space. The bedrooms are a really good size. The house is a new build and the decor in the house is modern. Very nice bathrooms. The duvets are nice and bountiful. The balcony off the master bedroom looks out over the golf course and we spotted deer, pheasant and rabbits which was lovely. The kitchen is very well kitted out. The house had everything we needed other than as listed below. We would definitely stay again.
There were hardly any coat hangers so I had to go out and buy some (which we left at the property for other visitors). There was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms so again I had to go and buy some which is fine but it would have been handy to know this beforehand. There was only 1 tea towel in the kitchen which isn't enough for a week's holiday. Luckily I took some myself and a hand towel. Previous visitors had left dog poo on the back garden. Luckily we spotted this before our dog/children and removed it. It would be useful for the cleaners to check this.
We had a lovely week beds comfortable and everything you need
Great place and location for getting to Whitby. 30 minute walk with great fish restaurants etc.
Golf course on doorstep and less than half a mile to a big supermarket.
A brilliant house. We could walk into Whitby and the beach.
The house was warm, comfortable and felt luxurious.
Great parking.
Hope to return.
spacious, clean and comfortable
nothing to complain.
Lovely house which was perfect location for our family break.
Easy to get the keys from the dropbox, the facilities were incredible. Each room was spacious and had everything you needed including 2 en suites and a good sized garden for the dog and kids in our party.
The accommodation is walking distance from the beach and from Whitby town itself.
Would 100% recommend and will be looking to return myself.
Lovely house. Plenty of space for the 6 of us and the dogs. Nice little walk to the centre of Whitby. Would definitely recommend.
Highfield House was excellent for our party of 6 adults, toddler and dog. Very modern, clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. Lovely view from the master bedroom and parking for 2 cars. Additional bonus of having Lidl round the corner. Will definitely recommend.
We.we’re aware of the location of the house before we booked with a 20/30 minute walk into Whitby but on a cold wet December day it seemed further
The room configuration was great, the facilities were all you could need and the location was very handy for town and access to local amenities. It had gorgeous views and a lovely walk along the coastal path was fantastic, really impressed with the bathrooms too, really well done out with a beautiful finish, we really enjoyed our stay and were impressed with the house.
Host and stay are a frustrating company to manage bookings with. They insist on a verification confirmation and charge a non refundable damage waiver or a deposit with a fee attached. I reluctantly completed the verification after being told it was mandatory (this was not stated at the time of booking) and then was badgered by text and email every day sometimes twice or three times a day stating verification was not complete, I eventually dealt with a gent called Ryan who managed to sort this but the harassment by Host and stay was a joke. I'd also requested a high chair which was not provided, and have had these issues before with Host and stay, so gave up trying to engage further with them as honestly I was so frustrated with the company I couldn't deal with the hassle.
clean suitable for our families
could not find the tin opener?
Breakfast n/a. Location good
Modern clean quiet everything we needed loved the balcony..
Difficult to find. Sat nav took us to wrong location. Found street by accident. Had to ask locals where it was they didn't know either. But they did put us in right direction in end.
Fantastic house in a fantastic location, great for large families. Great views from the balcony at the rear, of the countryside and the sea and cliffs to the right. Ideal for large families as there are multiple bathrooms with showers and a bath.
Convenient location for walking into Whitby town or the sea front and beach. Would very happily stay there again!
very pleasant and well set up house with great layout for families, clean and tidy, had to store ornaments due to being a little fragile around the kids, also strong breeze can slam doors which in turn made 1 or 2 of the pictures on the wall fall off but none of this detracted from a wonderful stay, thanks and would recommend.
Fabulous place, great location. Beach, Lidl and the White Horse pub all within walking distance. Clean, tidy, good communication from the hosts. Fantastic views overlooking the golf course where the rabbits and pheasants run free and the sea. Great enclosed garden for the dogs.
There really wasn't anything not to like. Brand new build property. Clean, spacious and a great location. Great secure garden for dogs. ??
Could have done with a hose in garden to wash sand off dogs. Not really a dislike, just would have made it easier cleaning dogs off. ??
Everything ?? spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished to a very high degree, well equipped, very comfortable, stunning views from the bedroom balcony, really comfy beds, private secure garden for our little dog and the grandchildren to play. absolutely perfect.
Only little thing was no drop down kerb onto the driveway but realise it is a fairly new property and together with the raised manholes on the road this will probably be addressed in the future.
Beautiful well equipped house in great location.
Generally very clean.
Small crack in TV screen which caused major picture problems when tv on.
Bin in twin room hadn't been emptied
Lovely house, modern clean, nice size bedrooms. Loved the upstairs balcony and was a great location, could walk to the beach in 10/15 mins.
new property and immaculate throughout.
great location
Great property for a family with everything you need when away from home. Within walking distance of the beach and nearby town. Would recommend to family and friends.
It was a fabulous house with everything we needed and very clean
Not enough tea towels
Dog secure garden
Location
Clean smart house
3 bathrooms plus downstairs toilet
Very cramped kitchen
Small communal areas
Need more substantial mats to front door and patio door
modern, quiet, clean, well equipped, loved it
The property is ideal for a large family and pets. It is well decorated and the furniture is really nice. It is an easy walk to the beech with supermarket and takeaways close by. Parking directly at the property can accommodate at least 2 cars.
With the property being new, there is little to criticise, it is well equipped with mostly everything you may require for your stay. Tea towels were in short supply as only one was supplied, but this was not too detrimental.
Very well appointed and clean. Location convenient b.ut it is on a housing estate so not a typical holiday location.
Only 8 minutes to drive into Whitby and convenient for local beaches and trips out into the country and along the coast
Truly a home from home. Anything you need is there.
High spec inside with a beautiful view overlooking the gold course with able to see the sea view from front and back.
Good location outside of the town but easy enough to walk in and out and to the west cliff beach
Spacious and clean house with a lovely view of the sea and golf course from the balcony . Lovely peaceful setting . Beach ten minutes walk away . Supermarket 2 mins away.
What a beautiful house! Modern, spacious and clean.
Excellent location for walking into Whitby. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you ?
Well appointed house with views out over the country side, everything you could need is provided and this house makes a superb base for exploring North Yorkshire
The property is spotless and modern, everything you could possibly need has been thought about. Drawers and kitchen cupboards full of everyday essentials and lovely touches such as tea/coffee/sugar/salt/pepper available. The smallest of things are available at this property to truly make it home from home. Fantastic views across the golf course and even a sea view to the right from the balcony. Amazing safe enclosed rear garden. Would happily return for another visit
Wouldn’t change a thing!
Well located property on the edge of Whitby, 30 minutes walk to the centre with nice pubs nearby. Everything is brand new and really well appointed. The team are really responsive and kind. Would definitely recommend.
Everything is good. The beautiful landscape can be seen from the balcony in the second floor; lovely courtyard provides a place to chat or eat outdoors; clean bathrooms and bedrooms makes everything comfortable; pan, pot and everything you need in the kitchen make cooking possible. The only deficiency is the locked windows in bedrooms in the third floor. Once you open the heaters for too long, it would be too hot to fell asleep and you cannot reduce the indoor temperature by open the windows. Hope this would be improved in the future.
Highfield House is a short 5-minute drive from Whitby town centre.
The property has three floors which means you'll have beautiful views but you will need to climb stairs during your visit.
