On the ground floor, you’ll find an open plan kitchen and dining area, as well as a utility / boot room. The kitchen features dark grey cabinets and crisp white worktops, all with a high shine finish to create a clean and modern look. There are two built-in ovens at eye level within a block of four tall cabinets so you can cook big family meals during your stay easily. The hob and extractor hood are located towards the back of the kitchen where there is a brick tile feature wall. Pops of colour are added through the bold yellow toaster and kettle. There is also a microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher for you to use throughout your stay.

The breakfast bar island has a built in sink with a routed groove draining board and statement faucet. Both stylish and practical, the island provides ample space to prepare meals and drinks. On the other side of the island is the breakfast bar where members of your party can gather and chat whilst others cook. There are three wooden bar stools at the bar so it’s also ideal for relaxing morning coffees and breakfasts following slow, lazy mornings.

Near the two large windows is the spacious dining area. With a large wooden dining table for your entire party, there is plenty of space for you to enjoy meals together. The dining chairs are bright yellow bringing together the pops of colour from the kitchen. Mounted on the wall facing the dining table is a huge flat screen TV which is perfect for watching the TV whilst cooking and for children to catch up on their favourite breakfast shows.

Back past the kitchen, you’ll find the utility / boot room. With a second sink and plenty of storage space with hooks, this area is great to clean up sandy kids following a day at the beach. There is also a washing machine and dryer so you have everything you could need for your self-catering stay.

There is also a WC located on the ground floor.

The living room is located upstairs on the first floor. With a neutral colour scheme and three large sash windows, this room has a gorgeous look and feel. You’ll have plenty of space to relax as there are three comfy grey sofas and an armchair. Perfectly accessorised, the room has a large glass coffee table in the centre and statement canvas paintings of the beach on the walls. If you want to enjoy a cosy night in during your stay, there is a large flat screen TV so you can watch shows and films on Freeview. Guests will also be able to make the most of the Alexa which is available for use.

Stay on this floor and you’ll also find the master bedroom. This huge space features a comfy Super King bed and a statement grey headboard. There is a black woven chair and floor length, ornate mirror. Similarly to all bedrooms at Hoggarth House, the room features a huge flat screen TV. Double doors open out onto a balcony area where you can relax on a morning with a coffee. The first bedroom also boasts an ensuite with a bath, overhead shower, WC, basin and modern light up mirror.

Head up to the top floor and you’ll find Hoggarth House’s second bathroom which features marble style tiles and chrome throughout so this room is seriously stylish. A large walk in shower, WC and basin complete the space.

Also on the second floor are a further three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bathroom on this floor has a large bathtub with an overhead shower and the second, which is an ensuite, has a large walk in shower.

The second bedroom at Hoggarth House, known as the ‘seagull bedroom’, is another great room with plenty of space. Tall arched ceilings with skylight windows create an airy feel and double doors open up so you can let the outside in. There is a feature wall with grey wallpaper featuring little birds and colour is added through the mustard soft furnishings. You’ll enjoy your sleep as the comfortable Super King bed boasts plush bedding and crisp linens. This bed can also be split into two singles upon request. If you’re after a cosy night in, kick back and relax in front of yet another fantastically sized flat-screen TV. The second bedroom opens to a modern ensuite with a walk in shower, WC and basin.

Head to the third bedroom and you’ll find a King size bed with a tall statement headboard. There are two sash windows and skylight windows above in the arched ceiling. The bed is framed with matching rustic bedside tables and quirky bedside lamps which resemble stones. Known as the ‘beach bedroom’, you’ll notice beautiful cushions depicting the coastline as well as little bird ornaments.

The last bedroom - the ‘blue bedroom’ - has a comfortable double bed and premium bedding, as well as a statement headboard. Light floods in from the many windows and Whitby Abbey can be seen in the distance. The gorgeous space is complete with white furniture and a mirror.

All bedrooms at Hoggarth House include full-length mirrors, dressing tables, hanging space and a chest of drawers so there is plenty of space for you to store your belongings and really feel at home throughout your stay.

Neighborhood

Take a leisurely stroll into the centre of Whitby whilst admiring the various yachts and vessels that call Whitby harbour home. The route into town is completely flat with no hills so it’s ideal for those with limited mobility.

In the town centre you’ll find there are narrow, mediaeval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. You can climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. On the other side of the River Esk, you’ll come across cosy pubs, fun arcades and even more fish restaurants on Pier Road. Venture along the lively road and you’ll reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
