Guests have access to the full property. The property is accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

There is plenty of private on-site parking available to guests staying at The Lakehouse. Please note that redevelopment works are currently being carried out at Raithwaite Hall. The Lakehouse is some way from the hotel so your visit will not be effected by the development, however you will need to drive along the estate road to get to the Lakehouse, which will take you through the development site. Whilst the road through the estate is sometimes dirty and there are some obvious signs of the redevelopment taking place at the hotel, once you pass through the gates to the Lakehouse, you will still have your own peaceful & private retreat.

Please note there is a high retaining wall at the side of the property so we ask children to be closely watched at all times when in the outdoor area.

The Lakehouse is an absolutely beautiful property and was a fantastic venue for a large gathering of family and friends for our daughters wedding. The space is brilliant, the rooms are all good sizes and the property was very well equipped. The Location is lovely and quiet and private. The Raithwaite Hotel is being re-developed at the moment so there was a bit of building work going on but we never had any noise or intrusion - just a bit disruption on the drive in and out but noting major. When the work on the hotel is finished this will be an absolutely fantastic location as you could walk up to the hotel restaurant and spa if you wanted to. Host and Stay were quick to respond to our questions and their information was clear and timely. All in all 5* stay.

I booked the Lakeside for a family getaway, it is a very impressive house, with amazing grounds.
Once inside it definitely is a Wow factor. Every room is very tastefully done to a very high standard. Beds a so comfy, even the pillows!!
If you are wanting a little peace and quiet take your pick of rooms .
We went to the beach which is just a 10min walk.
We spent a lot of our family time on the garden patio as the weather was perfect. There is a gas BBQ, in the booklet it does state Gas not provided so we took our own. But when we arrived there was a Gas bottle attached. Would be nice to be notified of this. Also in the booklet it states there is a coffee machine and they provide the pods, there were no pods there, again just let your guests know.
Bathroom shower screens were not cleaned properly, and bedrooms had a lot of cobwebs hanging from ceilings. Those are just a couple of gripes.
Overall we had a fabulous family holiday in an amazing place.

The house is stunning, spacious and beautifully presented. I loved the aga cooker, the outside space, the decor and the bathrooms.

It could have been a bit cleaner, there was a lot of animal hairs on all of the soft furnishings and carpets, there were also a lot of dead flies around the house which I hoovered up on a few occasions.

We raised a number of concerns with Host and Stay about the property during our stay. None of these were addressed adequately and eventually they just ignored our messages presumably hoping we would just go away. They even suggested we buy our own replacement batteries for all the TV’s in the bedrooms (none of the bedroom remotes had batteries). They said as we were a weekend booking they couldn’t address the issues during our stay. The service from Host and Stay was very poor.

Beautiful house shame it was let down by the amount of dust and spider webs
No vacuum no broom no plug in sink broken freezer draw extractor fan and lights above not working laundry area flooded and boiler broke so no hot water for 4 days! Apart from that nice…

Terrible after service of this property. Lovely house and great location but to be accused of damage to a bed and theft of a key is disgraceful when this is just nonsense and untrue.
Would warn anyone else to be aware of this before booking.

The house felt homely and cosy despite its size. We congregated in the kitchen in the morning and then in the lounge in the evening. A very good house for socialising but also for having a bit of space alone now and again. The showers were very good, and there was never a lack of hot water. The beds and bed linen were extreme comfortable. I would book again.

Great house for a family get together. Nice location and handy having hotel so close. Various kitchen utensils were dirty is only minor complaint.
