The apartment is located on the West side of Whitby. You’ll be able to revel in the nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.

Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, mediaeval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around
You’ll find restaurants, pubs and shops just a short walk from The Old Post Office.

Whitby train station is nearby so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

Great place to stay for 4 adults and one infant. The apartment is much bigger than it shows in the photos. We found parking on the street just around the corner no problem. We took a child’s airbed for my daughter and it fitted perfectly in the double room with plenty of space still. Only small issue was as the apartment allows dogs I did find a few hairs around and in the bathroom along with dust so a little more detail to the cleaning needed but otherwise it was perfect for us

Had a great stay at the old post office, a home from home feel. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Booked over a week ago through Booking.com and arrived to find that the apartment had been double booked. We booked through one agency and the other family booked today with another. Tried to find elsewhere but no availability due to it being Easter Sunday. Had to drive home for 3 hours with very upset children. Would not recommend at all.

A lovely spot that is close to the centre of Whitby but far enough away to escape the crowds. Great amenities

Really enjoyed our stay at The Old Post Office and in Whitby. The main living areas are spacious and bedrooms comfortable. Property was clean and tidy. We had everything we needed for our stay with two older children and our dog. Great location for walking into and around Whitby. We didn’t need to contact the host for anything but they proactively provided property and check in information as well as local area guidance. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Location great, within a few minutes of the center of Whitby. Really roomy and warm flat with plenty of space in the kitchen and living area. Everything we needed in the kitchen cupboards was provided.

The bathroom is in need of refurbishment and smelled of damp. There is an obvious area of mould to a section of tiles by the shower and the bath itself has a crack with a poorly attempted repair.
The main bedroom window frames on the inside were full of powder mould from the condensation and cold weather, but could have easily wiped away by the cleaning company.
The window recess in the living room could do with some cushioning in addition to the scatter cushions that were there just to make it a little more comfortable, the settee and two chairs although functional, were not too comfy after a period of time, the pillows in the bedrooms were also too hard and didn't help with getting a full nights sleep
You may want to look to replace the fridge if you cannot remove the unsightly mould in the water dispenser.

Stayed here previously this year and had a fab stay so was excited to come back. However the flat was not up to the same flawless standard of clean with crumbs across dining seats, rubbish in cutlery draw and mold in bathtub. Had issues with horrendous noise above during the night. Reached out to host for assistance and didn't get a response until the next day at which point it was a poor message. Will be moving on to another place next visit.

Decent location to town, but if you're ok mobility wise. It is up a hill so if mobility is an issue for you, it's something to consider.

It suited our needs fine. It would have been good to have the option to check in earlier than 4pm, but in fairness we didn't ask too, so it might be possible should you need too.

Parking is an issue as you're parking round residential streets and people who will likely be visiting the town and hospital near by.

Lovely airy, light living room and kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and cutlery, not the usual 1 item for each person. Also supplied with tea, coffee, UHT milk etc. (not used as we had our own with us). Handy dishwasher (with couple of cleaning tablets) and washing machine if you needed one.
My wife thought bed was a little too firm but that is how I like them, just personal preference. Good place for dogs especially with laminate flooring in main areas. Short walk to Co-op supermarket and main area for shops etc. and centre of town. Parking a little awkward but we managed to get parked outside the door after a couple of days.
Would definitely stay here again when visiting Whitby.

Great apartment for visiting Whitby. It’s larger than the photo’s make you believe. Good location & short walk into town.
Parking is hit & miss don’t expect a space. We parked in the marina car park for our stay £9/day.
Recommend & will visit again

The location is fantastic - so close to town
All facilities you could need were in the apartment.

The beds were very uncomfortable and we all struggled to sleep.
Although the apartment is dog friendly - there is nowhere for them to toilet.

Fantastic apartment, clean, well equipped and within easy walking of the town and harbour. I wish all owners had this level of attention to detail. The only downside is the parking locally. Nothing the owners can do about that but you have to be prepared to cruise in search of a space.
Owners are great communicators

Awesome place!! I love Whitby. My second time going! Definitely a great spot. Not a fan of all the hills in Whitby. The home is located right by the town center so easy just to park and walk around! Can’t say enough about how clean the house was and how it felt like being in a hotel. I will definitely be looking for them again in the future.

Fantastic home from home, spotless, tidy and with all the amenities you need for a breakaway. The only point of concern would be the parking issue as it's on street parking first come first served which during the summer season could be chaotic. it's a very sturdy 9 out 10 just the parking issue stopped it from being a 10. I would certainly recommend it to anyone and I've already had family members looking at it for later in the year.
Mark
