Very enjoyable stay in a lovely property

I found Gannet Cottage to be spotlessly clean, well presented, comfortable, and in a super location. It's perfect for a solo traveller and I felt safe at all times. There's a lovely little suntrap courtyard outside the door, with a bench if you want to sit out and read a book (as I did)! Communications were easy and efficient, and I'd certainly book again.

Gannet cottage is perfect!
Really tasteful decor, comfortable bed and sofas and a clean hot shower room - everything you need after a long day hiking around Flamborough head!
Also a really well kitted kitchen meant we were able to cook dinner one night without the last minute discovery of their being no sharp knife or frying pan or their only one wine glass in the cupboard! It had everything needed for two :)
Check in, check out and all information provided was really clear and easy. couldn't recommend it enough!

Nice cottage, easy to find, good parking. Comfortable. Everything you need for a short break.

Nice accommodation, ideally need to drive to see most attractions but ideal for Whitby and local beaches

Really enjoyed staying here, accommodation was clean and spacious and as shown in the photos. Stayed with a baby and took our own travel cot which easily fit in the bedroom. Very easy to check in and out, would definitely stay again.

I appreciate most people will probably only stay for a couple of nights maybe a week at most. We booked in for 4 weeks to provide accommodation while we’re between homes. So some of our issues won’t apply if you’re only staying a few days.I was very disappointed particularly with the kitchen. It has the smallest fridge I’ve ever seen. Which is a shame because there was room for a larger one. It means shopping daily as there simply wasn’t room to store much. The cottage only had 2 cups, 3 plates and 3 teaspoons. Now I know it sleeps 2 so you could argue it’s plenty but it’s not really. We couldn’t even make visiting friends and family a drink.Things have obviously been broken over the years and just not been replaced. This doesn’t create a very good first impression. There was also nowhere to store food (or anything really beyond the hanging rail for clothes) I used the window sills in the room and lived mostly out of bags. With the rubbish bin and recycling bin both in the kitchen you couldn’t open the drawers so we had to move the recycling one to the bathroom. The bathroom is spacious but there’s no towel rails or shelves to put anything. Both external doors had cobwebs in both corners and cobwebs were on the ceiling above the bed. The large rug in the room was covered in hairs both human and dog. The coffee table in the centre of the rug had what looked like bits of dog treats in amongst the hairs. This obviously hadn’t been moved to vac although it didn’t look like the rug had been vacuumed at all. The wall above the bedside lamp had splashes of what looked like coffee. The shower walls and shower head had dark hairs on them. I can only assume that while the bedding had obviously been changed the apartment just hadn’t been cleaned. And don’t get me started on the pans. They were unusable the food had dried on so much. I bought a new pan set since I couldn’t even face trying to clean them. The dishes had what looked like dried on pasta sauce on them as well. I had to wash everything before I could use it. Considering cleaning was an extra charge of £45 I felt very disappointed in the standard. But to be fair it wasn’t all bad it’s a nice spot. We parked our car outside and it felt quite private. It gets a bit noisy on a weekend when the large house just behind is rented out. But beyond that it’s nice peaceful spot.

Absolutely beautiful little cottage & fantastic location. We went to Bridlington & Filey while we were there and all a very short drive away.

we booked the property for three nights and had a fantastic stay. The cottage was an excellent size for two of us and two dogs with room to spare! Cleanliness was superb and check in and check out was made really easy. Tea/Coffee and milk were available on arrival which was a welcome touch after a long trip! Brilliant location, nice and quiet with plenty of beaches nearby. Can't recommend enough and hope to be back again soon!

Lovely location. Beautiful accommodation. Highly recommend. Would stay again.

This is our 2nd visit, once stayed in Guillemot, very comfortable stay. Kitchen better equipped than expected.
Our only problem was the farmhouse behind the cottage, they had a party! I counted 9 cars next day, no idea where they all slept!

The booking in process is really easy and done via a key code, the accommodation is spotless, and teabags/coffee/sugar and milk were provided which was very welcome. There are also toilet rolls and small bottles of bath/shower liquid which is a nice touch, and the towels are lovely. On site there is a washer and dryer free of charge, and kept in the laundrette are lots of games and dvds to watch, these are kept in the cupboards. The accommodation is just a short drive to (or even a little longer walk) into Flamborough and Thornwick Bay. Great accommodation and very stylish decor.

Very Clean and modern decor. Location is good and can walk into Flambrough and you can drive to lots of different beaches and nearby towns.

Nice accommodation in a lovely area. The RSPB visit was the highlight. Closely followed by Danes dyke

Clean, well equipped and spacious, a lovely place to stay in an excellent location for the many walks and wildlife sites in the area.

Gannet Cottage is great; it has everything you need for a short or sustained stay. 20 minutes walk to the coast on footpaths, and the most beautiful scenery there, seabirds like you’ve never seen before. The hosts are very communicative and responded quickly and helpfully to a couple of snags we had with the property.

Fast responses from the host, lovely welcoming, no contact due to COVID but really clean. Felt like home and stylish new interior. Would definitely recommend if you want a quiet weekend away!!
