This place is as described but i didnt realise that it was only accessed from a back street. This might put some off if you're returning after dark although the area appeared to be okay.

it was clean and modern furnishings & a good location
we were given the wrong address, had to ring to find it, it is on Newmanby Terrace not St John street, that is the otherside of the road!! little treasure is advertised with WiFi, there isn’t working wifi and as this was a business trip it was required, they are aware it’s not working but have a clause to cover themselves. there is a tv but can only be used with WiFi… no working WiFi no tv.
the shower didn’t get hot and dripped constantly if not positioned vertically upright. plenty of kitchen equipment but no work surface. definitely wouldn’t go back.

No breakfast
Everything, dirty property had not been cleaned, no tv no wifi no parking permit.

First off the bat, TV didn’t work, wasn’t overly an issue as I was there to get out and about. But don’t get the point of a big JVC strapped to the wall that doesn’t work.

There was an iron but no ironing board. Strange choice.

The alleyway access isn’t ideal and not suitable for dogs due to glass on the floor from all of the bins and lighting is an issue. The back gate latch is broken as well.

The internet wouldn’t connect due to low signal. So again was pointless.

There was a clothes rail with no hangers leaving you with 6 small drawers to stick your stuff in.

There was beard hairs in the bath but in general the cleanliness was ok/good.

The main door could do with blinds as it’s not very private if you’re knocking about in your undies or sat on the sofa in them. (Not watching TV though)

There was pros, it was nice and warm, bed was comfy and the location is really good, around a 5-10 minute walk to the heart of beautiful Whitby. There was milk and teabags etc left which was good.

All in all the key to my visit was Whitby itself and the accommodation was somewhere to get my head down, but for the price I cannot recommend it due to the multiple issues.

What adds to the frustration is that from the review book that is at the property and from this app, I’m not the first to flag the majority of these issues so it’s baffling they aren’t addressed.

This property is managed third party by a company, I imagine that could be part of the problem.

Shared courtyard.
No TV reception
Curtains needed over the door.

Good location for town and sea front. Comfy bed and strong shower. Clean.
Located in the shared back yard of a terraced house accessed down a back alley. TV wouldn't tune in to any channels. Needs a curtain on the door as on full view to people sharing the yard. No plug for sink and drippy shower.
Far too many emails from Host and Stay and Booking Com - stopped counting at 16!!

Heating and hot water were excellent. Nicely decorated and comfortable flat.
The address provided was incorrect and it took me about half an hour and a couple of phonecalls to find the entrance to the property due to this. Parking was difficult and car had to be left a 5 minute walk away in the end.

Lovely little place, convenient for events during the weekend.
Sink was blocked and the TV wasn't tuned. Also hard to find.

large king size bed was comfortable
clean and warm enough
the TV didn’t work - it didn’t seem to have an aerial - the first book had mentioned this previously so clearly an ongoing issue
no sink plug either
bath globe taps are in breach of building regs/water bylaws - the can take dirty bath water back into the domestic supply

location was great - very central. well equipped and, although compact, was very comfortable for us and our dog for a short break at the sea.
a few details of the layout could be improved and it is quite hard to find. number 10 John Street is on other side of the road, while this one is behind number 10 Normanby Terrace.

Decent price, maybe a little over priced for location and size. But good for a couple of nights get away, could not stay longer as is.
No TV signal, which I understand the coast at the moment is struggling but by reading the last guests comments seems like an ongoing problem over the years. WiFi signal is very weak, could do with purchasing a WiFi extender to enhance connection, especially with the no TV. These are a few comments in which I left in the book given to write comments. Other few pickets would be no curtain on the giant French doors so no privacy when in the small living area, no lock on the gate which feels a little unsafe as it does lead to a alley way. Last small snip, would be the blanket left on the end of the bed was covered in previous pet hair (not ours as we didn't bring a pet) which left us to believe this was not washed!

The location was quite central.
Access to the property was down very dark lanes at the back and we didn't feel safe. The access gate didn't have lock. Had to call host to get the heating turned on as was in a separate area. No storage for clothes and the TV wouldn't work. The yard in the property was not maintained.

Lovely little Annex. Ideal location and nice and clean

Clean and good location
Getting to the property was a little disappointing-
The tv system wasn’t good - luckily we took our own devices
The door was very difficult to lock - there wasn’t a knack to it either as sometimes there are to front doors and it made us feel a little unsafe
There was a drainage problem which led to a horrible horrible smell but after a few emails it was sorted but still left a smelly bathroom - for £200 a night for me and my granddaughter we did expect 1st class accommodation and although the studio was comfy and exceptionally clean - the courtyard was unclean and had lots of rubbish laying about
JuSt a number of little things that sadly made us not want to go again
Staff at booking.com could not have been any more helpful so for that we are grateful

Accommodation and facilities all excellent.

Central location was excellent - the hills of Whitby ensure an excellent work out wherever you go !

Only slight negative was the alleyway leading down to the accommodation.

The Stay team were excellent - a small issue was dealt with really quickly.

Recommended !

The alley leading to the Little Treasure is strewn with broken glass and litter so be prepared to carry your dog when entering and leaving the property. Take your own plug with you if you want a bath as a plug is not provided. Have dynorods number handy as when you flush the toilet water bubbles up into the bath and the drains in the courtyard stink to high heaven. I cannot recommend this accommodation as at £200 a night i was very disappointed

I’ve never left a negative review before but this place was a joke. There were overflowing bins outside the front door of the property when we arrived, which seagulls quickly set upon, meaning we ended up with used sanitary pads, chicken bones, various other bits of rubbish and a swarming flock of seagulls outside the front door. I immediately contacted Stay, the management company, who said the best they could do was to send a maintenance person around the following morning to clean it up. Nobody turned up the next day, meaning we had to clean up the refuse ourselves. Stay have refused to offer me an kind of refund since. The property was clean but not worth the money. It smelt of drains, you have to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom and the shower doesn’t go hotter than luke warm. Once you’ve booked, Stay try to make you submit all of your personal information and upload a copy of a photo ID to a third party company for ‘track and trace’ reasons. Avoid!

I had good contact with the booking company. It was clean and modern and very comfortable bed. I liked the fact that the key was in a key box outside. When I reported the problems a maintenance man came out to rectify them.
There were a few things that didn't work. No lite bulb in bathroom. Plug stuck in sink. TV wasn't programmed so we couldn't watch TV. The extractor in the kitchen didn't work. There needed to be nets up at the patio doors as it was a communal yard and any body going to the dust bins could see straight in.
