Located within the historic Grade II listed Zetland building, which was once one of the world’s first railway hotels, the property has been transformed into a stylish and welcoming three bedroom holiday home. The Zetland Apartment has plenty of history within its walls as it originally dates back to 1863 when the railway hotel first opened its doors. Today you can still see remnants of its famous history as the original canopy and railway buffer are still in place.
The apartment boasts a large living room with huge doors which open out onto a balcony. Looking out at the cliffs and the beach, the balcony is the perfect place to start your day! Enjoy your morning coffee as the sun rises in the distance or wind down here after a busy day exploring the coast. There is ample seating in the living room and a TV with Apple TV so it’s the ideal spot to cosy up with your loved ones.
Fully equipped with modern appliances and cookware, the kitchen diner has everything you could need to make the most of your self-catering stay. Beautifully styled, the shaker kitchen is dove grey in colour and there is a large dining table with dining chairs and a built-in bench.
The Zetland Apartment benefits from three bedrooms. Head to the master bedroom and you’ll find a stunning space with vintage style wallpaper, a comfortable king size bed and large double doors which open out onto the balcony. The space also boasts an ensuite shower room. The second bedroom features a double bed. The third bedroom has a trundle bed which includes a single bed and an additional pull out single bed which is always made up.
Spacious and modern, the family bathroom in the apartment includes a bathtub, large walk in shower, WC and basin.
The Zetland Apartment is located in the charming Victorian Spa town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the North Yorkshire coast.
Located in the heart of the town, the property is only a short walk from the beach and lower promenade. Take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade and you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. The long sandy shores are overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts and high cliffs tower in the distance.
Saltburn has plenty of beautiful walks too. The Valley Gardens are a maze of paths and tracks which wind through the flowers and woodland. If you want to explore further, The Cleveland Way National Trail is over 100 miles long and the lovely Saltburn is featured. If you fancy a 17.5 mile jaunt, start at Saltburn and walk your way to Sandsend. This walk is a great way to explore the North Yorkshire coastline and the views are beautiful!
The Zetland Apartment is within walking distance of all that Saltburn has to offer and within 30 minutes’ drive time of Staithes, Whitby, Middlesbrough and the North Yorkshire Moors.
Saltburn Train Station is a short walk away and has routes to Longbeck, Redcar, Middlesbrough and Darlington with connecting trains to Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester and London.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Saltburn. Hop on the Arriva North East route and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby. The Moorsbus route has drop offs at Newton Under Roseberry, Great Ayton, Stokesley and Helmsley.

The property definitely has a ‘wow factor’ beautifully furnished and very spacious, well equipped, comfortable beds, with good quality bed linen and towels. Although there is no sea view, it is well located just around the corner from some lovely little shops, bars and restaurants and within easy walking distance of the seafront. Allocated parking space is a bonus.
Lack of thermostats on radiators meant the heating was either all or nothing, which made the bedrooms very hot for sleeping. Lack of wardrobe space, if you were staying for a week or more you would struggle as only one single wardrobe the other two in main bedroom are locked.
Key safe is not marked with ‘M’ as stated in info, so had to try them all before finding the right one.

So clean and perfect location. The apartment was amazing.
We had just spent 3 nights in the 10 Zetland but wanted to extend our stay so decided to book this. This apartment was amazing.
Large rooms, lovely kitchen and lounge area, just prefect for relaxing after long walks on the beach and pier. 2 good large bathrooms with lovely showers.
Perfect location minutes from the beach.
Milk teabags coffee provided by the host in addition to other useful kitchen items eg foil, oil and condiments.
Radio, alexa, apple TV and you can log in to Netflix.
This is the first time I've had a holiday in the UK(usually go abroad but haven't due to covid) that I felt like I'd actually had a real holiday and break.
We will be booking this again.
The only negative things to mention are that it could have been cleaner for example the carpets had not been hoovered properly and there was dust build up on the bathroom fans. Secondly the keysafe needs to be labelled!
The balcony is a very good size with furniture, there is a minimal view of the sea.

Difficulty accessing property due to insufficient/inaccurate information provided. For a luxury apartment with quality crockery and cooking facilities, 6 cups, 6 side plates and 6 cutlery sets was woefully inadequate and we kept having to get them out of the dishwasher and hand wash.
The apartment was amazing! From the decor, facilities and comfort, to the location, literally nothing to dislike. Also added bonus of a designated parking space.
A little clearer instructions for the key safe ! Possibly label the box so guests don't have to try each one to find theirs.
