History of Cardiff

The city has a rich history that dates back to Roman times when a fort was established here. The production and exportation of coal made the city famous. The exportation of coal played a great role in fuelling the city’s growth and development and by the 20th century, Cardiff had become the world’s leading exporter of coal.
