Kitchen was well equipped

Broken coffee tables, bathroom fan hanging from wall, bedside light broken, friendly staff who always promised someone would get back to us but no one ever did, broadband disconnected a day and a half before we left. Not luxury at all with steep narrow stairs and lots of flaking paint and shabby in general. Small back courtyard with artificial grass was filthy, with broken broom and old spade left in corner.

The house itself was pleasant and clean, in a good location near the centre of Amble. However , rather than being owned by a local, it was owned by a large holiday home company. When we had an issue with the keys (our fault I fully admit) they handled it dreadfully, keeping us waiting for 3 hours without any further communication, outside the house then sending the wrong keys so it ended up with their operative having to drill the lock ( rather than repeat his 3 hour drive to collect the correct keys). They insisted that we were not being charged for anything other than the call out but tried to charge us over £200 for this callout. I know this poor revue is based on an individual case but I do feel the way they handled the incident was indicative of a very large scale and non customer based service.

Just home from a 4 night stay. Amble is lovely and quiet and the property easy to find. The property is a good size but is in need of some TLC. The photos advertised show the property when newly refurbished because it has scuff marks and general signs of wear and tear which made the property feel less clean than it was. On arrival the property had a musty smell as if it hadn’t had anyone in for a bit and the first thing we did was buy air fresheners and hoover cobwebs. Property was fine but wouldn’t visit again.
The property manager did message back when we messaged him so can’t fault that but was just disappointing

We chose the place because of its location.

The house was very tired and dirty! I don't think it's had a thorough clean for a very long time. The tops of the curtains in the small double bedroom were thick with dust. We had to wash the crockery and cutlery before using them. There were marks on the walls throughout the house. There was mould in the corner of the bay window in the larger double bedroom. The fan in the bathroom wasn't secured to the ceiling, the lino in the bathroom was cut out around the toilet and the flooring behind the sink was thick with dust and dirt. A lot of attention (a thorough deep clean, a lick of paint and regular maintenance) is needed to make this house look as good as the photos.
The parking is difficult if you are travelling as a 2 car family as you can only fit one car on the drive.

Enjoyable stay- 2 nights -breaking our journey home from Scotland.
Positives- able to book for 2 nights over Easter weekend, parking space, nice seaside location, warm and clean, comfortable beds
Negatives- backyard - grim no outdoor furnishings, Astro with a used bin bag just outside the door, neighbours car parked in the drive on arrival so we thought we had the wrong property. sold sign up so neighbours guessed it was vacant.

The house was a great size and a good layout. For us, we had two babies in the group, so knew we would be spending more time than normal here. There were good communal spaces for playing games and relaxing, whilst also being quiet.
The location is perfect - being very close to the high street and harbour restaurants/pubs. The parking says only one car but we managed to get to 4x4 cars on the drive.
The kitchen was well equipped but don’t expect any ‘nice gestures’, we stayed on New Year’s Eve and there were only little sachets of milk. Like I say it shouldn’t be expected but just a nice touch we’ve experienced at other Air BnBs!
Unfortunately there are a lot of cobwebs, and I mean, a lot. The house is a bit older so you can expect some to an extent but being scared of spiders this was a bit unnerving, luckily we didn’t see any.
If you’re looking for a great location in Amble to explore Northumberland whilst having space to cook, dine and relax I’d say this is a good shout.

The house itself is fine providing you stay when it’s not raining heavy as the bathroom ceiling leaks in through the electric fan & light fitting.
Reported this & a loose plug socket in the dining area as a safety risk & still had no reply 2weeks later
Minors that wouldn’t normally bother me had it not been for the appalling communication.
- 1/2 eaten ice cream in freezer
- in-emptied bathroom bin
- toothbrush, lid, small bits of jewellery left behind
- lack of cups (3) & glasses for size of house
- could do with a deep clean, cobwebs, dirty under beds, behind bedside tables
Overall it’s a nicely decorated house, in good location
Host & co just have very poor customer service, very quick to ask you to check out & leave feedback but not to ring you back, let’s hope no one gets an electric shock

Clean and handy for facilities and harbour. Very comfortable beds and quiet location.

Too few sets of cutlery cups, glasses.
Bath feels bit unstable when standing in the shower. Back yard gate needs securing and yard in need of a tidy and spruce up.

The house was dirty , we had to wash all utensils and crockery before use . The hoover hadn’t been used by the so called cleaner , we did get it working had to hoover the house through . The rug in the dining room was disgusting ,it was not what we expected . The bedding was stained , at least the towels were clean .
If you want to stay in an average, dirty holiday home this is it .
