Warm and welcoming, well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bed, good strong shower. Once parked at cottage easy to walk into Barnard Castle, lots of eateries and food walks especially along the river.
One downside is the internet, we had a few issues with speed and access.

House exactly as per pictures. Unfortunately on arrival internet not working and phone signal poor. Neil the owner fixed the problem quickly. Thank you for that. How did we survive before the internet! House is well designed, warm and top end, everything you need for a stay. Easy walk in to Barnard castle, with plenty to do in the area for a few days. Nice mix of cafes, pubs ,Bowes museum and of course the countryside.

Lovely place for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids and one dog. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and everything you would need. Great location with everything easily walkable. Only negative was the WiFi was very slow. Have stayed in a few different properties in Barnard Castle and the whole family agreed that if available this would be out 1st choice on our next visit.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our few days stay. Great location for what we wanted, walkable into town plus there were great places to take the dogs just a few minutes walk from the property too.

The property was beautifully decorated with a charming and cozy atmosphere. The location was perfect, offering stunning views and easy access to local attractions. The cleanliness and amenities provided were top-notch, making our stay very comfortable.

The safety deposit policy was a bit of a hassle and could be improved. Additionally, Host & Stay offered us a rebate extension which we accepted, but they never followed up on it. The bed could have been a bit bigger for more comfort.

The cottage was lovely, very well presented with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Easy walks on your doorstep with Deepdale nature reserve, Flatts wood and the Teesdale way to Cotherstone.
Barnard Castle is a picturesque market town with lots if little eateries and pubs. The castle is great for an hour or so to potter around.
Cross Lanes Farmshop on the other side of the A66 is a cool little stop with a fab breakfast menu.

Castle View Cottage lives up to its name, just across the bridge from Barnard Castle and across the road from the river Tees. It's really quiet and cosy inside. We never heard any traffic noise or neighbours. Our pup Lizzie loved sleeping by the fire and exploring the fully fenced back garden, not to mention the long walks in the woods along the river. Wonderful place, highly recommend it.

On the day we left the owner/cleaner parked right in from of our door which made things difficult. Luckily we had packed our own car earlier so we did okay. If she had parked in the allowed spots it would have made a difference.
