Well located in lovely small village just off the A1. Spacious apartment tastefully converted ex village hall. Well appointed. Bottle of Prosecco left after inspection by owner due to faulty shower in master ensuite. On arrival had to report that toilet seat was loose and in need of repair, if or when the cleaning was carried out this should have been noted, reported and repaired prior to change over. Repair carried out the next day. Mattress and pillows in master bedroom worn out and uncomfortable (had to put the 2 furry blankets from the cupboard in between the mattress and the protector to gain some degree of comfort) badly needing replaced. Feature clock not working, only requiring a battery replacement. Pendant lights grey with dust, badly needing cleaned. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling and bridging the candle holder on window sill. A charge of £60. included in rental for cleaning, one would expect a thorough standard of housekeeping for that.

It was very convenient for walking the St Cuthbert's way., but not ideal for people walking as there was no information about the local pub or convenient store in the welcome folder. The dirty bed linen on double bed hidden by the foot runner. Blood stain on a pillow case and black marks on the double bed bottom sheet. Therefore could not use the double bed.The un emptied bin. Dirty foil left in the oven with food remains that could be seen without opening the oven. First impression was finger marks on the glass door into the property from the porch.Had better welcome packs from a 2 star hotel. Fire regulations state safety increased with motion sensor lights in bedrooms they were not present and one by main door not working. Damage waiver not being part of the price.

We are extremely disappointed with Host and Stay organisation. On booking accommodation asked to extend check out by one hour 11am instead of 10am to allow extra time for my husband. It was agreed ok and we received confirmation by email. Just before setting off we received an email saying that departure time was 10am. I rang them to be told by a woman we had to be out by 10am and said the person who sent the confirmation had left. She wasn't interested in the fact confirmation of 11am was received from them. Later I rang back, this time spoke to a man who confirmed he'd received information about my earlier phone call and was told he had contacted the owners of the property about it. Another phone call made to ask about an update. He hadn't heard anything. No further communication was received from Host and Stay, not even during our stay until the day before departure when we received a standard text message saying "hope you enjoyed your holiday and departure time 10am". A real damper on the onset of a holiday and as a carer myself for my husband turned out to be upsetting and a worry. Our experience hasn't been good. Extremely poor communication from Host and Stay. We feel they broke a written agreement made at point of booking.

Beautiful, spacious accommodation with lovely views to the holy Isle. Nice shared garden. Super friendly wee coffee shop below the loft provides the most delicious cakes with lots of vegan/veggie options.

Delightful stay in this lovely apartment atop a village hall. The place was spotless and decorated in a classy modern style. Light, airy and very relaxing. Easy access to the A1, Holy Island, Scotland and hundreds of castles! Would recommend.

The location of The Nook was great to use as a base to travel to other locations.

The property and the village The washing machine was noisy and the shower drainage was almost overflowing the shower base because the water wasn’t draining quick enough. I did clean out the outlet but it was still blocked.

Property was nice inside, had everything we needed. Furnishings were clean & comfortable. No outdoor seating area as advertised, seating area near the cafe next door so it was not attached to the property. no secure area for dog. No parking outside the property. Double bedroom was lacking in storage, no drawer unit & mirror not suitable if you’re not very tall. Blinds let in lots of light early on a morning. Bathrooms looked like they needed a thorough clean, skirting boards/shelves dusty. Worktops had crumbs on when we arrived. Extremely noisy from upstairs, could hear every movement, especially early on a morning. Would’ve liked a welcome pack, bottle of milk etc.

Lovely stay in this perfect barn/loft. Fenwick is a great location for the Northumberland coast, very quiet village location, with a handy coffee shop downstairs. Beautifully decorated and well equipped kitchen.

Location and apartment facilities. The noise from the occupants in the apartment above was not great. Don't think it was their fault as they wouldn't know. Not sure the upstairs apartment is suitable for young children. Didn't let it annoy us but being woken in the morning was a pain.

The property is managed by Host and Stay. A few days before arrival we were told we had to either take out insurance to cover damages or pay a £250 deposit which would be refunded less a £10 'admin fee'. I raised the matter with Booking.com, who said the £10 fee was not acceptable and should not be charged. The £250 charge had to be paid in advance, because you didn't get the keybox code until you paid. After leaving the property, we got a £240 refund several days later.I raised the matter with Booking.com, who were slow to react, requiring evidence 3 times, and not getting back to me with the 48 hours they promise. This is unusual. Eventually, Boooking.co refunded the £10 to me as they couldn't get a response from HGost and Stay. I think the £10 admin charge is just a lever to get people to take out the £25 insurance. An example of rip off Britain. I have stayed with Booking.lcom many times in many countries, and have never gone through this palaver before. It's just a matter of principle-£10 in a £1000 booking is negligible, but the principle isn't. I woud avoid Host and Stay like the plague.

Very spacious, well laid out, great decor and the perfect location for exploring the north east. Checking in and out very straight forward and lovely coffee shop right next door with the friendliest staff you will ever meet.

Great location. Property is fine. Clean, modern, as per the images. Main bed is a little squeaky. It's the Host and Stay tail wagging the dog that creates the problems. Check in at 4pm - far too late in the day. Check out at 10am - far too early. They work this to suit the cleaning arrangements and not the paying guest. Cleaning charge £60 is excessive. Insurance fees are £25 for 2 nights which are compulsory unless you leave a bond. They won't release access details until the insurance payment is made. This is not clear and I had to ring them to clarify this. It felt like a scam. This sort of practice will kill AirBnB, the benefits over traditional holiday accomodation are slowly being eroded.

Beautiful apartment in a little village with easy access to Berwick, Lindisfarne, Seahouses, etc. Very helpful instructions from the hosts and a well-presented online information booklet provided. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Nothing at all.

We loved staying in this beautiful holiday apartment. It felt cosy, warm and homely. The place had everything we needed, was easy to find and was located amongst peaceful countryside. It was perfectly placed to visit Bamburgh and Lindesfarne, with plenty of good food pubs in the area. The hosts were friendly and quick to respond. Would highly recommend!
