Could not fault the location. Perfect for our needs. Only a 10 minute drive to visit family. Adjacent to farm land with fabulous views. The kitchen had all the amenities to make it a home from home. Full size fridge, washing machine (though we didn't use it), oven, microwave etc.,. TV with Netflix for cosy nights in.

The double bed was a little uncomfortable and we were unable to control the heating in the second bedroom so it was a bit warm at times. Minor issues that didn't hamper our stay but worth mentioning.

The location was great for us. It was quiet and peaceful, with lovely views. There was convenient parking. The kitchen had good cooking facilities, with a dishwasher and washing machine. The cottage was spacious, airy and clean and there was a pleasant outside area to sit in. The bathroom was also spacious and lovely, the decorating throughout was very cute with a sheep theme, which we loved!

We found it difficult to get comfortable in the beds, both the 2 singles and the double. They were not the best quality. The 2 chairs in the lounge were also uncomfortable and it would of been great to have a bigger table to eat at, as there were four of us. The bathroom floor got extremely wet when the shower was being used, no matter how careful we were with the shower screen.

Very lovely place! It’s super clean and well designed. I can absolutely recommend this cottage!
What bothered me a bit was the communication with Host&Stay. They were super nice on the phone but not helpful. In the end they apologized. That’s okay.
If you just never need anything you will be fine ?

We are local to the area. However, the animals in the neighbouring fields was great for our daughter.
The cottage itself was spot on. Faultless and was really nice and homely.
The only reason I haven’t given this a full 5 star is the deposit you have to pay the management company. Due to the urgent need for the booking, I didn’t read that part until I had booked (which is my fault, I know). It is this part of the booking which in my experience let it down.
You had the choice to either pay a £250 deposit which is refundable or pay £25 for £500 worth of insurance. However, there is a £10 admin fee on the £250 deposit, so either way you are forced to pay something for this.
I do understand the need to protect the property, but I don’t agree with being forced to pay an admin fee.
Also, getting the £250 refunded was ridiculous, doesn’t get processed until 7 days after check out. Why? Housekeeping are there at 10am on day of check out. So why 7 days to confirm it is ok?

Great stay. Place was very clean. Definitely need a car for the location.

Susan

28/10/2023

It had everything that we needed except a cot but we could take ours. All the basics for the kitchen were there too and a pint of milk. Having a dishwasher and washer/dryer was a real plus. I needn’t have worried about it being warm enough for the toddler. It was lovely and warm. In a good location for Eureka, Cannon Hall Farm, YSP with a local farm shop for supplies and places to eat out not far away.

A small improvement would be to fit an extractor in the bathroom. Taking showers causes condensation and the necessity to open the window for ventilation.

Such a great find! Cosy, clean, comfy, safe…. Myself and my daughter came for 5 nights to focus on her setting up a business for her work experience. We needed somewhere quiet, with space and good WiFi. This fit the bill, and more. Shower was nice and powerful, dishwasher, well stocked etc… we also loved that we could easily walk to the farm shop with cafe, great to get out!

Nothing really. Neighbours were doing diy on and off so there was a bit of banging but nothing drastic.

Lovely cottage in a country setting but close to amenities. Quiet and restful but well situated to explore the local area including the National Mining Museum and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

The cottage was ideally locationed for our plans. Beautiful countryside but all the nearby cities are accessible.

Main bedroom - no room around the bed but not huge problem. Would have like more space for another side table. Pillows a little too soft.

One of the nicest holiday cottages I've stayed in. Spacious and comfortable open plan kitchen/sitting room and very comfortable beds - I usually don't sleep well away from home but here I slept long and soundly. Helpful, timely but not intrusive instructions and communications from Host and Stay. Ideally located for visiting the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and The Hepworth, Wakefield. A bonus was the spectacular sunsets we were treated to each evening!

Some local footpaths were poorly maintained and marked, one had been densely planted over with a maize crop and was impassable.

Ideal location to access a lot of rural walks within 5 miles drive.

Road is busy and tends to get used as a racetrack by local boy racers. Not a huge problem, but a bit annoying and slightly hair raising when you try to exit the drive as visibility is very restricted.

26/07/2022

Rural location was excellent. It was clean and well equipped.
The double bed in bed 1 was very comfortable with plenty of hanging space and numerous drawers.
There were some local information sheets.

The dining table was only just big enough for 2 so if there were 4 it would be impossible to sit round it.
Some of the information sheets and leaflets were out of date with several of the recommendations not open. There were no details of nearest supermarket or petrol stations.
Car parking and turning was difficult if 2 other cars in the space. Had to reverse out on road on 2 occasions.

We stayed at Cosy Cottage for 3 weeks whilst having some building work done, the cottage was lovely, really clean and just what we needed. Although we are local to the area, the gorgeous views, the farm shop & walks on the doorstep make the area the perfect place for a break and we would definitely recommend it.

We only stayed a couple of nights, but the cottage was very nice and clean. The wifi was great which enabled us to work remotely during the day, and the location was in a very nice and quiet area. We didn't get the chance to explore the local area, but can definitely recommend this cottage as a base to explore from!

Free car parking on site. Wifi very good signal. Property very clean and spacious. Welcome pack very helpful, including instructions for electrical appliances and list of nearby facilities (pubs, restaurants and cafes). Owner happy for us to take mam's budgie (in cage throughout stay and cleaned up on departure). Nearby Emley Moor transmitter tower made finding way back very easy.

Nothing, all good.

The cottage was warm

It said dog friendly but we only have a small dog so we couldn’t let him out without a lead as he would have got though the gaps in the gate . It also said no dogs upstairs but ours sleep with us as he is old and we don’t leave him . There was notes around the cottage saying what u can’t do which didn’t make u feel at home . We never met the owner which is fine but it did say on the email that they would greet us . It was a nice cottage but there was no TV in the bedrooms no Complimentary basket which in other cottages we have stayed in there has been I think it’s the small touches it didn’t have . There’s was no other channels than free View no DVD no books it was very basic

Lovely little cottage, well appointed and well equipped. Location was convenient for Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Very quiet. Only concern was the lack of pavements on the road. Nice farm shop nearby.

The cottage was clean, spacious, easy to find and we had a great time staying there. The cottage is really quiet and is a great choice to relax and enjoy nature. Rooms upstairs are big and the beds are soft although the two single beds are really squeaky. Also, there are many choices for food and drinks in the area. It was a good stay overall.

We had a really enjoyable stay at No 7. The house was beautifully clean on our arrival, and everything we needed was on hand. The house handbook was invaluable.
A local shop in Enley was able to advise us where we could get good takeaway delivered to the house and the local farm shop, Thorncliff, between the house and Emley was outstanding - freshly made sandwiches on request as well as really good local produce for cooking. Great pies of all kinds.
We found plenty of sort local walks from the house for our dog, as well as bigger walls further afield. Great access to wonderful places.
Thank you for a good stay. We hope to come again.

Stayed at cosy cottage emley moor for 5 days. What a beautiful cottage and perfectly situated in a lovely rural area yet still only a short car ride away from plenty of attractions and things to do. The cottage itself is lovely and the attention to detail impressive, so many little touches that made our stay even better. It was just the 2 of us and our dog and they even leave things that are helpful for the dog. Totally enjoyed our time and cannot think of one negative so well done to all concerned.

The courtyard at the front had open access onto a main road no where for my dogs also cottage was carpeted throughout so no access to my dogs this let is very nice for adults only nice location good job I had family in the area so it took the pressure off

Chelsea

19/02/2020

The place was great - perfect size for 4 people. Comfortable, cozy, great amenities. Downfall was the lack of shampoo and conditioner (every Airbnb that I’ve stayed at has provided it so I didn’t bring any!), it’s on a farm property so there is a smell, and check in was a little confusing. Other than those minor details, great stay.
