Brilliant location. Some maintenance needed at property. kitchen provision could be better, you need to bring dishwasher tablets only 2 left, no spare bin bags.

Had a great stay. the location is great if you've got a dog, literally straight on to the beach which is ideal. The property is larger than I thought and there is a nice little court yard garden out the back. All in all a great stay.

Ideal location if you like quiet endless beaches. This was perfect for us and our dogs. The accommodation was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again but it's popular and fairly well booked up.<br/><br/>There was nothing to dislike.

Absolutely STUNNING apartment, it really is as close to the beach as the pictures made out. <br/>It was a perfect get away to read, paint and chill! Please note as it is hosted by a business there’s not much in the way of amenities in the kitchen. We had to buy oil & milk & sugar as there was only sachets etc. There also wasn’t an oven mitt or tea towels not really a negative just something to note.

Excellent stay right by the beach. The perfect getaway for a family of 4. Only short drive to Saltburn for some seaside fun. The flat was spacious and easily accommodated all of us. <br/>Will definitely stay again.

Great location for access to a beautiful sandy beach and walks if you plan to stay close by. Lovely, comfortable and spacious flat. Great sized dining room for meals and games. Very good fish n chip shop nearby! We really enjoyed being so near the beach and of course the view. Yes it really is as close as it looks in the photos!

I spent 3 nights here and loved every minute of it! When I arrived at the accommodation, the instructions on where to park and how to enter were clear so that took away any stress. And when I entered, I wish my house looked that good! It was perfect for me and my dog but could also host another 3/4 people easily.<br/>The location was the main factor in booking this as my dog loves the beach and it was PERFECT! Open the front door and a very short walk down a path then you are on the sand. From there you can walk to Saltburn (about 1.5 hours with the dog playing in the water) and there were plenty of pubs/restaurants/cafes that are dog friendly. <br/>The Airbnb had everything we needed:<br/>Full kitchen<br/>Sitting areas<br/>Living room with netflix on the TV<br/>Very comfy bed<br/>LOTS OF SPACE!<br/>I would definitely recommend this and might even come back myself!

Lovely couple of days staying on the beach in Marske and looking out to sea. The flat was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The only downside to our stay was the noise from the boiler which was very loud and possibly in need of a service. If this is rectified we wouldn't hesitate to book again

The location was superb, couldn't have been better - fabulous view out across the water and nearby cliffs. The apartment was very spacious, had everything you could possibly need. A brilliant little gem!!

The proximity to the beach. Just amazing views and a real home from home feel . Spot on ?<br/><br/>A very slight negative was the door into the apartment was a little loose and rattled when the main front door opened . It really didn’t spoil our stay , but maybe a problem for others

The accommodation has the most beautiful location, views are spectacular. <br/>We found the property lovely & excellent space for us. <br/>We struggled with the noise from the properties above us, we were disturbed throughout the night as they used to the front door waking us and our dogs who naturally bark at the disturbance. <br/>The house has been split into 3 separate apartments but the main entrance for all apartments is in the original downstairs of the home, there is no suitable front door to the downstairs apartment or any element of sound proofing it was the only downside but it felt a considerable disturbance to our break.

The flat is wonderful; incredible views, large, clean and airy rooms and a nice secluded back yard. Would absolutely recommend it! <br/>But…..horrible issues with the actual “hosts”, Host and Stay. I booked through Air B & B, and the booking was confirmed, and full payment was taken. When we arrived at the property, there was an email waiting for me from “Host and Stay” requiring me to call them for check-in details. They’d send the email when we were en route. I called; no answer. I messaged to ask for the key box code and to check in, and was told I needed to complete Host and Stay’s additional verification process. To get the key box code, I had to either pay £25 to an external website (Superhog) to cover “accidental damage insurance”, or pay a deposit of £250 with an additional £10 admin fee. And sign an additional contract directly with Host and Stay. Avoid Host and Stay properties; their additional hidden charges are unfounded and unjust, and their customer service is dreadful.

Location location location <br/>Very spacious, private and in the main well equipped.<br/><br/>A couple of things that would benefit from some attention, the kitchen work surfaces felt sticky. It’s not that they hadn’t been wiped, it’s the wood finish. They need re-sealing as are worn. <br/>Plumbing needs checking, bit of an odour coming from kitchen sink , taps are noisy and whistles and same in the bathroom. When you flush the toilet it sounds like a ships horn sounding. Kitchen could do with a few more utensils as a little sparse, garlic press etc. <br/><br/><br/><br/>The noise from the apartment upstairs was a bit of a nuisance, they were not partying or anything like that. It was the noise of them walking around, doors slammed and being constantly up and down the stairs to smoke at the front entrance. <br/><br/>That being said, none of the above would stop us returning and we have shared details of the property with friends. Just trying to share open, honest and fair feedback.

A lovely appartment with amazing views. We have had a fantastic week, walking our 4 dogs on miles of beach and visiting the local country parks and woodland.

What an absolutely stunning location! The flat was really lovely, especially that super light and airy lounge with the magnificent view. The only downer is the amount of noise from the flat upstairs and the main staircase! If you have a dog that barks at noise, don't book here!

A beautifully decorated apartment, very spacious. The location is amazing, so nice to see and hear the sea from the apartment. The apartment guidebook issued digitally before we arrived was very helpful, very easy to access the property. No problems with parking just follow the instructions, we found all the neighbours very friendly.

Gorgeous location<br/><br/>The Wi-Fi went down on day 2. The owner was completely uninterested in helping to resolve. Host & Stay were also very poor initially in their customer service. It took the best part of the week of escalating with Host & Stay for the owner to bother to do anything about the Wi-Fi. The kitchen is very poorly kitted out - no decent serving bowls / glasses - the very bare minimum - lots of empty cupboards. Garden at the back is unattractive and unwelcoming. The parking can be an issue. The noise from the upstairs flat was very noticeable.

The apartment is fantastic, just make sure you park very close to the wall to allow cars to get past.<br/>Location outstanding! <br/>Beds comfy and living room was great too.<br/>The garden area across the road was so nice to sit in with a coffee, watching the sea! <br/>Thanks

A nice place we have stayed in before. Great location and nice interior. Think for the price they charge there should be essentials like salt, pepper etc in the kitchen. Means you have to get all that even for a short stay. Also find the 4pm check in a bit inconvenient / cheeky for what you are paying. Otherwise lovely place.

Clean, warm and comfortable. We had a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

A lovely stay with the beach on your doorstep and amazing views, walkable distance to the high street of the little town. Just be aware that if you’re arriving late most of the restaurants around stop serving food around 8PM. We had a couple of less likeable moments such as when you walk into the property it doesn’t clearly say 13a on the door and there are two doors but the lock wasn’t really working for either. You can hear everything going on in 13b upstairs which was a little disruptive. Otherwise lovely little place.

We had a beautiful weekend at this amazing place… the location is perfect, walk straight out onto the beach… close enough to have days out at other busier areas but we also just loved feeling like we had found the best kept secret spot tight where we were! Will definitely be back! X

Lovely relaxing stay

Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of Feb half term. Lovely if you want a peaceful apartment close to a beach and local amenities. Lots of dog walkers on the beach and cliffs, and this suited us as we had one. <br/>Information from booking to departure were very easy to understand. We didn't need to contact the hosting company during our visit, and the proactive info provided about the apartment and the localilty was first class. All in all, a lovely break and we would return, as long as the price was right.

Stayed with our toddler and two dogs. Perfect location. Apartment is like a tardis!

Lovely beautiful and spacious property. great location

Beautiful spacious venue that allows you to relax whilst visiting. Opening the windows inthe lounge or master bedroom you can hear the rhymic tide and waves of the sea clearly. <br/><br/>The beach is almost on the doorstep, stretching for miles in either direction. The beach itself was easy to walk, with tall sand dunes rising up.<br/><br/>Facilities of the town are no more than a 10 or 15 minute walk away.<br/><br/>The hosts are extremly helpful and responsive.<br/><br/>Parking is available for only one car immediately outside the property. However, during our stay (December into January) there was plenty of street parking available nearby (within a couple minutes walk, off the private road).<br/><br/>Cooking facilities were good, though the knife block / knives could be better. There was some difficulty chopping carrots!<br/><br/>Note a cleaning fee of £60 was charged at the time of the booking.

A fantastic flat which is more spacious than the photos would suggest. The location is second to none with a gorgeous beach just steps away. <br/><br/>The flat had everything we needed to make our weekend break comfortable with parking directly outside - a lovely neighbour informed us where exactly we should park as apparently it can get very busy - not surprising as it is so close to the beach. <br/><br/>It’s a great base for lots of exploring the Yorkshire coastline, we’ll definitely be back for another weekend recharge.

A super location for a stay on the coast. A lovely bright flat within walking distance of some great pubs and a beautiful, quiet beach.

Great apartment, so close to the beach and with stunning sea views from the bedroom and lounge. Beautifully finished inside, with some lovely touches, and the terrace at the front is a truly gorgeous place to chill and watch the world go around with a nice drink. A couple of minor issues on arrival were very quickly resolved and communication was excellent at all times. A great dog friendly home from home.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach Retreat in Marske-by-the-Sea. The location of this property is what makes it. Waking up to a view of the beach was the highlight of our stay. The property is fresh and modern, with all the necessities for a family. Car parking is a little tight if you have a big car, but overall, this is a great place to stay if you're looking for the ultimate beach break.

Absolutely beautiful apartment perfectly located within a stones throw from the beach. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Our 12 year olds gave a big thumbs up for the surf which was perfect for body boarding and the dogs had a great time chasing each other on the sands. Would definitely recommend and rebook ??

A beautiful, clean and well-equipped property in a lovely location overlooking the beach at Marske-by-the-Sea. Would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a base from which to explore the North Yorkshire coast.

We had the most perfect stay at this beautiful place. It is so filled with light and with wonderful views of the sea. It was ideal for our 2 year old with a 2 minute walk down to the beach and also only a short walk into town for breakfast / essentials. The beds are extremely comfy and there is plenty of fresh towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and we were easily able to cater for ourselves. We enjoyed an amazing brunch at Craig's by the Sea, the cakes were incredible! It is also a perfect base for visiting other areas of the coast. We enjoyed trips to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Saltburn and Staithes. Communication with the host was easy and frequent. Absolutely no negatives and we will definitely rebook and highly recommend.

Excellent accommodation in a lovely location. <br/>We (family of four with two teenage boys…..and a border terrier) had a great short break, our first visit to the area. So close to the beach which was perfect for walks with the dog. <br/>The weather was great too, so we managed to make use of the outside terraced area for both breakfast and an early evening beer. <br/>Would definitely like to return.

Great holiday apartment on the beach. Dog and husband both loved it! The apartment was tastefully decorated and well equipped. Dishwasher and washing machine useful to have. Loads of space and lovely terrace out the front overlooking the path to the beach shared with the other two apartments in the building (we were usually the only people there). Private terrace out the back also nice and private but no view. No issues but just a point that there was some noise from the apartment above, not the peoples fault just not great sound insulation. Blinds in main bedroom not great for keeping out the sunrise light if you are a light sleeper.

What a great find…there are hundreds of reasons to stay here, but to save time, top 3.<br/>1. Location - if you love the ocean, it is on your doorstep…literally. Whether a short walk before breakfast, a longer hike with the dog, or the sound of the waves lulling you to sleep. North Yorks moors only 20 min drive away…try Newton under Roseberry for a lovely hill climb and views across the county<br/>2. Home from home - decor is simple and inviting, kitchen well laid out and equipped, beds comfy<br/>3. The dog loved it…she made so many new friends running up and down the beach…even swimming in the sea in March!

The location was fantastic. The decor and style were lovely . <br/>the property had plenty of space and beautifully furnished .<br/><br/>The kitchen and dining room were extremely cold . The log burner didn’t seem to work . <br/>cooking tongs required .

Amazing location and amazing sea views! My biggest problem was the wifi. It is awful. Especially in the evenings/nights. You'd struggle to watch a youtube video. As I was doing lots of work during my stay this made it tricky. You can't do zoom calls etc on it. <br/><br/>Great house lots of space. 1 min walk down some steps to the sea. Craigs the local coffee shop does amazing brekky.

I don't want to gust too much about this apartment because I don't want it to become so popular that we can't get booked in again! If you are looking for a clean, modern, comfortable apartment in the most amazing location that accepts dogs, then this is the place for you. I have nothing bad to say about it and we will definitely be back!

So very light and airy, spacious, comfortable furnitures and very well kitted up accommodation. Really convenient having a washing machine. Host and Stay team and electrical engineer was so lovely with regards to communication and dealing with my ignorance (had a bit of a faff with the remote thermostat when we arrived). We fully enjoyed our stay and will definitely be recommending to friends and family. Many thanks Host and Stay!

One small gripe, no hand towel in the kitchen and although there was an iron couldnt see an ironing board.

Location was perfect...virtually right on the beach. Apartment was spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated, great views and own little courtyard to sit out in. Hidden gem.<br/><br/>Confused about parking. Spaces were limited and when we tried to park outside, a resident said it was private and they were expecting guests! Plenty of car parking on road, parallel to Cliff Terrace.
