Getting Around
Getting around the Yorkshire Dales is quick and convenient with the towns and villages located so close together. Enjoy the beautiful countryside as you cross valleys, rise up over hills and wind round the country roads.

The comprehensive bus service in the area has regular services to the smaller market towns through Pateley Bridge, Masham and Boroughbridge, along with routes through the major towns and the city of Ripon.

From Pateley Bridge take the No. 24 bus, known as the ‘Nidderdale Branch’ which takes an idyllic route along the River Nidd into Nidderdale loosely following the old railway line, and stopping in the pretty villages that line the length of the Valley as it turns from rolling hills to steep fells and moorland.

The historic town of Knaresborough and the mediaeval city of Ripon each have several services an hour to and from Harrogate so no planning is necessary, just catch a bus and go.

The nearest train station to Pateley Bridge is Harrogate, which is approximately 14 miles away. Regular trains to Harrogate are available from either York or Leeds mainline stations.

Struggled to access the key as we had not received the code. Had to call several times and asked to leave message until eventually someone answered and we requested the code.

It served our purpose once we were in, thank you.
Lady who came to see us was very pleasant, thank you

Very noisy traffic, lorries very early in the morning, quite a lot of shouting in the area.
We spent 3/4 of an hour trying to get in, phoned Booking .com 5 times & was cut off each time, eventually spoke to a gentleman who was very helpful & eventually they gave us the right code. Not a good start to our break.

The accommodation was immaculate. it had everything that we needed for a 2 night stay. It had a nice, modern and cosy feel.
The location was excellent for our needs with an amazing Chinese takeaway around the
corner.
The only negative was the sofa was very uncomfortable.
Great village with lots to do and amazing views of the hills. There was a lovely park on the doorstep and plenty to do in the area.
If you are staying at Ramblers Retreat, the small coffee table drawer has plenty of great information on getting out and about.

Perfect location, very central close to shops, cafes and amenities. Decor abd furnishing done to a very high standard. We'll equipped for a self catering break.

It was great the only thing I would improve would be a larger more comfortable sofa and the TVi was mounted a little high on the wall but that us being picky of me.. Also we did manage to park pretty close by but I would imagine in high season you could possibly struggle but there's always a public carpark not too far away .

the room is small but cozy, bed was comfortable.

The sofa is very uncomfortable to sit on, making it difficult to relax in the living room.
The host charges extra money for taking your deposit (the admin charge when they refund your deposit, sounds ridiculous I know) that's not advertised on booking.com. I was furious about this and basically spent over an hour reasoning with them to get the money back.

The flat was done out to a very high standard, and the location was ideal for us, we managed to find off street parking close to the accomodation.
There are good local shops and eateries all within easy walking, and the park is close by to sit in.

it wasnt very clear when booking that we would be charged an extra £10 handling fee when having to leave a £250.00 deposit for damages and that it would take a fortnight for our deposit to be returned it did take the shine off the 2 day short break we had.
There wasnt a coffee machine in the property which wasnt a problem but it said there was and the garden veiw is a view of the public park also not a problem, it says carpeted but where the setee is is laminate flooring and was a bit cold for our feet on an evening, the details just need to be clearer
