Location was great for Pickering station and the heritage railway.
Cottage was gorgeous with all that we needed. Comfortable and everything supplied for lovely stay.

Constant reminders via email about breakages were chargeable even though we'd taken out an insurance waiver and leaving the property by 10am on departure day, which we were fully aware of after the FIRST email!
It led to a worrying stay not relaxing for fear of breaking something.

Fantastic location. A lovely cottage and all the facilities and equipment you need.

Really can't find any fault with this cottage. If only 1 thing. Would be useful to have more parking.

The property was in a good location for going to different places such as Flamingo Land, Scarborough, and York. These are just some of the places we visited on our stay. we took our 2 grandchildren with us and the had a ball

Can't say we didn't like anything, but stairs were steep, and you had to watch going up and down

Charming cottage in the centre of Pickering.

Instructions for the central heating could have been clearer. Ideally a printed hard copy in the information folder would have been more useful.

A light in the porch area by the front door would be useful as it was dark area.

Good location within Pickering and useful to have a parking space.

There was a problem with the drains overflowing outside, which wasn't great. I think it should have been made clearer that the property would charge a non-refundable deposit just before arrival.

The location is great for the town centre, the cottage is really sweet

It was a little chilly when we stayed - granted it was June and you would not expect to need any heating - but it’s an old cottage - also the bin in the main bedroom was full on arrival - I’m sure an oversight from the cleaning turnaround

Great location, off street parking next to two great eateries.

The front door handle was a tad sticky and an issue for some in family to use.

Great location with private parking

The booking company took the cost for stay upon booking which wasn't clear from the T&C's. The cottage has everything you need but needs a little tlc.

Location was exceptional, the space within the property was well utilised. It was warm, clean & comfortable. Close to amenities. Great local shops & pubs. Felt safe & welcoming. Good communication.

It wasn’t a problem for us & didn’t impact on our stay but the stairs are very steep for young children or those with mobility concerns and the traffic can be noisy at times.

Good location

Toilet flush spring was broke and seat didn’t fit properly . Vacuuming looked like it hadn’t been done on stairs and top room.

Great stay. Nice cosy cottage for a couple of days away with the family. The only downside was that some parts of the cottage needed some TLC. Carpets ripped / paint flaking off etc. You also had to pay an accident waiver which I thought was unnecessary and would put me off booking again. They also don’t provide fire lighters for the log burner which I think should be listed before arriving. Other than that, great comfortable rooms and within walking distance to local attractions such as the steam train and castle. Nice restaurants nearby.

Nice location, good size for a family of 4

The carpet in the upstairs rooms was incredibly dusty and in dire need of a deep clean. Everything else was spotless but based on the carpet alone I wouldn’t stay here again

The cottage was lovely! Quirky and the added Christmas decorations made it cosy and festive.
A personal touch of tea, coffee, biscuits etc was lovely!

It was in a perfect area, we went to Pickering for the Santa express with our little boy and we could walk.

Had every thing you needed the log burner was really good we didn’t need the gas central heating

Just a bit close to the main road , heavy traffic noise startled at 05.00 am if your a light sleeper and not use to traffic noise.

A very convenient place to stay in Pickering. Handy for the railway and local Pubs. The accommodation was clean, tidy, well equipped and had a useful parking area. The road noise immediately to the front was a bit of a nuisance particularly early morning. The carpets up to the bedrooms were looking tired and threadbare on the risers. Whilst I was happy to pay a damage deposit claiming a £10 fee for this on top of everything else was particularly annoying.

Spotlessly clean and home got on home. Had all the facilities and items needed for a stay away.
Fully equipped kitchen use of cleaning items and dish cloth, tea towels provided.
Hoover, Iron and ironing board.

Secure rear garden for pets and off road parking spot.
Great location to the high street, shops, restaurant and pubs.
Large family bathroom and towels provided so one less thing to pack.

As a light sleeper i really struggled with the road noise. The main bedroom window looks right out onto the main road through Pickering.
Traffic is busy throughout the day and into late evening.

There are no blinds on the window just curtains which allow the light off the cars head lights to shine throughout the bedroom.
We all woke throughout the night with the noise of traffic passing.

With the restaurant and take away next door lots of customers park on the foot path right outside the living room window, so can disturb you again on a evening.

Very central, owners have thought of everything, felt very home from home, even left a pint of milk for our arrival

No double glazing, it was quite noisy as it’s on the roadside
Couch was too low, has obviously been well used
Rang host & stay & left a message about heating but got no reply

Very nice cottage in the centre of Pickering and right next to all the places to eat and drink. Walks from the house were great. Every thing you need for a weekend away.

Excellent location close to the centre of the town and in a location position for trips to the moors, dales and coast.

Great facilities in the cottage, everything you needed.

Master bedroom window would have been better if it had a net curtain up, you were very visible if the curtains were open.

A secondary double glazed unit in front of the Master bedroom window would help to cut down traffic noise.

Kerb appeal isn’t great….outside looks a bit tatty and in need of some TLC. It is on a very busy road- traffic day and night and although you do get used to it, the front door opens straight onto it so beware if have small children or pets. The house was well equipped and clean.
We were disappointed that there was no waste recycling facilities (other houses do have these) apart from the option to recycle glass by leaving by the bin.

The property is well equipped and in a good position in the town. it is close to shops, cafes, restaurants .
There are interesting places nearby to visit

The stairs to the second bedroom are very steep. The overhead light on these stairs was not working so the staircase was very dim
The handrail on the stairs to the second bedroom did not reach to the top of the stairs which was a safety issue
The mattresses were very uncomfortable particularly on the 2 single beds. This had been mentioned several times in the guest book but obviously has not been addressed
The slider lock on the bathroom door was a very tight fit and often did not engage properly allowing the door to open unexpectedly

The cottage was fine for a bolt hole if you want to visit a Pickering or NYMR. Close to the High Street, restaurants and shops. The cottage is in the main road and you do get traffic noise if you open the windows.

You cannot check in earlier and you have to be out by 10am. Don’t worry if you forget the time to check out they will text you at least 3 times, including the day you leave, reminding you the time and the fines you could incur!

Be aware you will need to give them a £250 deposit in advance which is refunded 10 working days after you leave (by 10am).

I would rate the stay higher but I found the constant reminders /texts annoying.
