Runswick Bay is a beautiful spot on the North Yorkshire coast. Boasting a sweeping bay with a gorgeous sandy beach, The Times and Sunday Times Travel have recognised Runswick Bay within Britain's top 50 beaches. From sunbathing to rock pooling, fossil hunting to long walks along the lapping waves, the whole family will enjoy a day at the beach. With narrow lanes and red roofed cottages, it’s easy to fall for Runswick Bay’s charm. The village has a local pub and cosy cafe which sells delicious cakes and pastries. By staying in Runswick Bay, you’ll be ideally placed to explore the rest of the coast which includes Whitby, Staithes, Sandsend and Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
The closest train station to Salt & Seaweed is a 15-minute drive away in Whitby so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station. You can travel via bus easily from Runswick Bay. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Staithes, Saltburn and Whitby.

There is private on site parking for 2 / 3 vehicles. Please note we accept one well behaved dog per stay and we request they do not go in the bedrooms, the property is strictly no smoking throughout and we are not available for stag or hen parties.

We loved the location. The Lodge decor, and the layout. The process and information getting into the property was all really good. The space you have with the lodge and outside area really good. All very well equipped and catered for all needs. The cleanliness was very very disappointing! It is expensive to hire and we found unwashed dirty dinner plates in the drawer, and so I had to rewash everything before we could use it! I then felt everything wasn't clean enough as it put us off. Actual food debris was left on the plates so clearly not checked! The skirting boards were dirty and cobwebs everywhere. The dinner table was so sticky my husbands glass stuck to the mat which was stuck to to the dinner table and it felt very grubby. That was a real shame!!!
Beautiful location, lovely lodge/caravan. On arrival we couldn’t find a travel cot, rang head office who said they’d send someone over with one, we’re still waiting! Then while packing up to leave, we found it pushed right at the back of a tall wardrobe, in its small bag so obviously no mattress. Initially everywhere looked clean, the paintwork was dirty, the sofa’s needed a steam clean or replaced. Overall in need of a deep clean, but of course everyone has different standards.
