The flat is in a good location and is nice and spacious.<br/><br/>We had some really fundamental issues with both our stay and our experience with Host and Stay. <br/><br/>Firstly, the flat had no working WiFi for the duration of our stay (3 nights, 4 days). This also meant no working TV. We had to chase Host and Stay to solve this each morning and often there was no one available to even pick up our call. They have now instructed me to fill out a complaint form in order that we can claim back some money (i.e., the basic cost of using our mobile data for 4 days straight). We're really unhappy that this means more time expended on our part and Host and Stay have not shown any willing to rectify this. <br/><br/>Another issue to note with the property is the walls are paper thin, including exterior walls. We were woken up multiple times in the nights we stayed because the flat is next to the communal front door of the whole complex. We were also woken (inexplicably?!) one night at 4 am by a man talking at full volume outside the flat. You really can hear everything which was a shame because otherwise the location is great.

Apartament byl naprawde piekny i czysty. Nie bylo problemu z niczym. Czysto i przytulnie, az chcialo sie zostac tam na kolejne dni. Polozenie chotelu wrecz idealne, cicha i piekna okolica. Na pewno jeszcze tam wroce i polece ten obiekt znajomym.

Unclean apartment, kitchen specifically. Stains on cutlery.<br/>Poor parking instructions- ended up get a parking ticket, when apartment 9 clearly had bay 9 parking.

The place was easy to find and easy to access. Our host was very approachable and made us feel at ease when we had questions. The location of the flat is a quick 5-10 min walk to town with a grand view of The Minster just outside. We found that everything we wanted to do was very accessible, although it was quite difficult to find parking. The parking on site is only available to unload/load for 10 mins and the price of the car park round the corner is £20+ for the whole day - though the Host could not be faulted as York itself doesn't have many places to park anyway. <br/>Overall the stay was very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it for a nice weekend getaway.

Nice appartment for a trip to York, 15 minutes to the centre by foot. Appartment had everything it needed, even to cook small things. Would come back!

Great location, easy walk into the city and a lovely area. Charlie was very helpful with any questions and recommendations we had whilst we were there. Accomodation was nice and cosy.<br/>The thin walls meant we could hear noise from the upstairs neighbours and also the electronic door pin into the building is on the wall outside the bedroom so can hear that when someone enters the complex.

Overall My stay with host & stay was terrible. The apartment was nice however host and stay False advertised of free parking as it quotes “free parking first come first serve basis” on their website with no link or any other messages about parking. As a customer I picked that place to stay as I seen free parking with the complex advertised with pictures of the car park. After the 2 nights I come to my car to see a parking ticket of £60 or £100 after 14 days! After calling them to see why this has happened they try to say this is my fault and if you read the “guide” that is in the room, you’ll see it says you can use the car park for 10 minutes while unloading luggage and then have to go to a near by car park to pay for both nights. sneaky way to get people to stay with them as I wouldn’t have stayed there if I hadn’t been falsely advertised of “Free parking”. Very rude on the phone shouting at me. Deposit also hasn’t come back into my account, it’s been 2 weeks they promised max 1 week

We had a lovely stay at this apartment in York. It was a good distance from the centre and nice and clean.

Mooi en nieuw huis, magnetron oven vaatwasser wasmachine droger noem het maar op… goed bed<br/><br/>Verder een grote tv waar je je eigen Netflix kan streamen.<br/>Inchecken voor 16.00 doen ze niet aan maar in York zelf zit een yorbag winkel waar je je koffer kwijt kan voor een aantal uur.<br/>Niet twijfelen maar dit appartement gewoon boeken!!!<br/><br/>Helaas maar 2 handdoeken per persoon gekregen voor 5 nachten… het brand alarm gaat snel af, dus altijd de afzuiging aanzetten,maar kan je simpel uitzetten ? huisnummer is op papier lastig te vinden maar het is nummer 9.

Lovely looking place perfect stay

Property was clean, close to the town and a very cosy couple nights away to celebrate my birthday<br/><br/>Have to pay a £250 damage deposit which is no problem but I’m still waiting for the money back which is a little annoying.

Quiet and cosy space within easy walking distance of the town centre. We only stayed for a couple of days but it was super comfortable with all amenities - would have been happy to have stayed for a couple of weeks if need be. A very pleasant experience, thanks!

Location looked directly on to the Minster and was in the central of town!<br/><br/>When we arrived the bathroom sink was broken but they could not provide a workman to come look at the property. This meant we were unable to use the bathroom sink for the whole of our stay. There was also only small electric heaters in the property and no central heating, meaning it was very cold at night or after we had come back from being out and about.

Lovely that there were teas and coffee sachets provided. Really great location, very close to town. Very comfortable bed and sofa!<br/><br/>The main bedroom light did not work. The bathroom light randomly brightens then dims at times. Not all of the heating worked however they provided portable heaters. Furthermore there were no cups to drink from but fortunately there were mugs we could use. It could be useful for future guests to potentially provide cooker instructions. In addition to this it was listed that there was a drying rack for washing/drying clothes but there was not one present at the property. You can also hear everyone entering the main property door due to thin walls.

Place is great! Cozy, warm and comfortable. And location is perfect:)<br/><br/>Didn't figure out how to turn on heating in bathroom and radiators in main room. <br/>But fortunately there were heaters so everything was fine.

The area the apartment was in was a quiet residential area, however you can here people next door coming and going all the time, slamming doors. Generally clean and tidy.<br/><br/>The light switch wasn't working, one glass supplied in the kitchen. Parking was mentioned but not at £16 a day. Had to ring host and fern for the apartment number despite receiving a ridiculous amount of emails. Bed was uncomfortable ended up putting the mattress on the sofa bed and sleeping in the front room.

Beautiful flat with all amenities needed to have a comfortable stay. Just a few notes I believe would help improve:<br/>- Bedroom light would not work, but asking us as guests to purchase and change the lightbulb once we raised this wasn’t the ideal response. <br/>- Ariel on TV needs checking as the lack of signal meant some channels were glitching. <br/>- We stayed while the weather was lovely- reaching around 23 degrees midday. Due to this, the apartment was quite hot and although we opened all windows, the lack of fresh air was noticeable and was too warm.<br/>The buzzer for residents to access their apartments is behind the bedroom- the walls are rather thin meaning this was noticeable and loud especially in the middle of the night. Also, the residents staying above us were extremely loud, there was continuous banging from above and sometimes loud conversations could be heard. <br/>These notes do not take away from the pleasant apartment and location- a 10 minute walk into the centre.

Location to York was perfect, 5 minutes walk to Monk Bar and 15 minutes to York Minster. Property had all you need for a pleasant stay.

Absolutely loved this apartment on the inside, very clean, lots of space, and lots of kitchen utensils. The washing machine was very useful as well! The bed was very comfy, and having a coffee machine was a nice touch.<br/>I had issues finding the location, and the guidebook address took me to the wrong place, and the address on Airbnb took me to the street, but not the actual location and I had to wonder about until I found it.<br/>The only downside to this apartment was that there was a keypad to enter the rest of the apartments, which was located on the other side of the wall to where the headboard of the bed is, so I could hear the beeping noise every time someone left, which did get irritating in the night, as did the noisy neighbours during the weekend.<br/>I would book here again, as overall it was a lovely place, and the location was excellent!

Though breakfast was not included ,refreshment sachets were provided.Basic kitchen utensils were available and we literally enjoyed cooking and eating at this lovely accommodation.Being on the ground floor ,we could enjoy open space in the vicinity.Watching TV on Huge screen was really relaxing thing.<br/><br/>More toiletries should have been provided with as we spent many days there.Being on the ground floor, where more privacy is expected ,thicker/darker drapes should have been fixed on the main door. Overall lights in the accommodation were very dim.No cupboards to store our luggage and congested bedroom where hardly any room to get ready.

Kitchen facilities were very convenient.<br/><br/>It wasn’t clean upon arrival. There were multiple spider webs at various locations in the property. Also, there was no hand soap in the bathroom!

Comfortable modern apartment. Location was great and only 5 mins from the centre of the city. VRBO site says parking is a first come first served basis but this was not the case as access to car park at apartment was only for permanent residents. As I’m disabled I picked this because of parking. There was a car park near by which can be expensive.No instructions for central heating but 2 portable heaters supplied. 1 heater was attached to extension cable which could be a fire risk. <br>Needs a better privacy curtain at door as neighbours can still see in above smoked glass section. Previous reviews from last year pointed out the same issues which have obviously still not been addressed. Overall we did enjoy our stay and would recommend.

Stayed about 6 months ago. Location, property, cleanliness, facilities, check in, check out are great. No problems whatsoever.<br/><br/>Host & Stay use a vetting and damage deposit system called Superhog. It is absolutely useless. It seems once you have registered with Superhog it remembers you but doesn't pass the information on to anybody else.<br/>So I'm trying to fill in the Superhog form and it won't let me, it's saying I don't have to do anything else.<br/>Host & Stay are bombarding me with emails (about 10 in total) telling me to complete the Superhog process, try clearing my browser, try a different browser, try a different phone, try a different computer. Then threatening to cancel the booking. In the end I demanded my money back which they were reluctant to do.<br/>I phoned them and spoke to a male who seemed to have a bit more sense than Guest Services, including the Team Leader. He checked my account and confirmed it was all up to date.<br/>The morning of the checkin I emailed to get checkin information. I received an email from Ryan saying 'Have you completed your damage deposit'. I didn't swear.......<br/><br/>I suggest Lynzi, Charlene and Ryan all receive some training and learn how to do their job correctly otherwise you will lose even more retuning customers.

Clean, compact and close to everything the city has to offer. Easy to access in a quiet area. Well equipped for a couple.<br/><br/>No parking and local nearby parking is expensive. Too many emails reminding you when you were arriving and leaving.

We had a lovely 2 day stay it was very clean everything u need to feel at home the internet was brilliant tv had everything on itvx Netflix and more well worth the money we paid would definitely stay again

Lovely apartment, however there is definitely things I would change. Location was ok, not the nicest of areas and wasn’t the easiest to get to. Did us for our trip however wouldn’t choose to stay again.

A nice place to stay only a short distance from the centre of York. The facilities were great with the exception of the heating, which worked wonders in the bedroom but did leave a little to be desired in the rest of the flat. Overall though, was exactly like the pictures and description, communication was great too. Would recommend.

Fern was a really lovely, quiet place for our stay and we really enjoyed our time there. It was easy to find and the place itself looks just like the photos - it's really pretty and feels homely.<br/> My only downsides were that there was no parking so we had to change our travel plans, we were caught off guard a bit by receiving messages that we would need to purchase a waiver on top of what we paid to stay, and that the bed was nice, but a bit uncomfy and we both struggled to get sleep! Overall, we liked staying at Fern, but some things could've been better for how much we paid.

it is a 10 minute walk from the main centre in a lovely quiet residential road. it is a very new property.<br/><br/>There is no info for appliances including the heating which didn’t work, and the agents didn’t respond to my e mail about how to use or fix it. Also the bedroom is right next to the main doors for the block so you hear everyone coming in and out when the doors slam shut.

Great location in a quiet area of York and only a 10 minute walk to central shopping area/Christmas market. Apartment modern and most facilities 'spot on' with un-expected items included. Price of the property fantastic compared to comparisons of hotel rooms with no facilities. Added bonus of urban night wildlife too.<br/><br/>Wrong key box code given so took 90 minutes of phone calls, in the dark and cold, before entry was gained to property!!! Service team do not clean high area's as considerable amount of dust on top of the bedroom wardrobe unit and mirror. Guidelines/ operational manual are required for Central Heating system, because we could not get the 2 room heaters working on any setting, resulting in having to wear coats watching TV at night!!!

Really nice place easy walking distance to the city. Easy access for a wheelchair user with only a small lip on the door to navigate. Really helpful hosts and overall a really homely property. Would love to stay again and it made our time in York really stress free

Tout<br/><br/>-Pas de balai, c'est bien dommage étant dans un appartement et afin de ne pas déranger les voisins plutôt que d'utiliser l'aspirateur, qui est appréciable pour un nettoyage plus important. <br/>- pas de torchon pour la vaisselle ou sopalen. Pour les voyageurs arrivant de l'étranger, il est difficile de tout prévoir dans une valise.<br/>- les dosettes café, impossible d'en trouver dans York après plusieurs recherches pour la cafetière mise à disposition.

The location to the shambles was perfect for walking back and forth. Finding the suite and directions to parking were stressful. Ask for clear instructions before you arrive. You can see the parking lot, but finding a way to put your car into it took way too long. <br/>Maybe I missed it earlier, but they were asking for a 250 pound damage deposit as we pulled up....and, damages or not, they are keeping some of it as a fee for something. This seems like just another way to squeeze another bit of money out of us.<br/>They also told us to take our garbage with us??? I came from the other side of the globe to give them hundreds of pounds and they want me to take the garbage with me.

Located in quiet area just 10 mins walk to City Walls / Old Town.<br/>Even during the recent 2-day UK heatwave..place was relatively cool..so fabulous accommodation to retreat to during the heat of the days.<br/>If come back to York, would definitely stay here again!!

Comfortable, modern space. Walking distance to town centre. Bed comfortable too. Bathroom and kitchen area was excellent.<br/><br/>Having to submit a copy of my id give my d.o.b. and then take a selfie and send it to an strange sounding insurance company (which then trys to sell you insurance for breakages etc !)associated with the company that lets the apparment No parking, even though spaces in the rear car park and on the street.. need council permit for street and rear car space for apparment has obviously been sold. Needs a thick curtain to cover front door and associated glass at front which doesn't give much privacy from path and street. Wooden slats on blinds full of dust and hoover is so full I would say it's never been emptied since new.which considering covid etc is not good. Oven needs an instruction manual.

Flat was modern and clean but had several issues, including lack of hot water and a broken bathroom fan (bathroom constantly wet). I hope that these issues have been resolved because this has the potential to be a really nice AirBnb.

Airbnb - Great location within walkable distance to all the main attractions, food and drink. Apartment itself is really nice and has everything you need for a short stay in terms of facilities. A bit of dust in the apartment and there was some dirt + the dishwasher which hadn’t been run from the last people. Considering the cleaning fee is so high this was a surprising negative. Some small extras would make the stay better such as kitchen roll, fresh milk in the fridge and coffee pods for the machine (tea, instant coffee and sachet milk were provided). The walls/ceilings are quite thin and we were woken in the mornings at around 6 when people left the apartment complex and we are not particularly light sleepers. As pointed out in previous reviews the automated spam messages are a little annoying! Overall, suited what we needed for the trip but would probably not stay again.

Automated and/or impersonal communication from hosts, inaccuracies in listings which have not been fixed after bringing to their attention and hidden cleaning expectations despite the cleaning fee charged at time of booking means I would not book with this host again in future or recommend to others. <br/>After booking I received six messages/text messages from the host directly and their verification partners requesting I verified myself which I had already done manually, via an email address provided to me by the host.<br/>I contacted them to confirm this had been done and I didn't need to go through the process again, which was confirmed - yet I continued to receive this messages right up until check in - which I found spammy and irritating. <br/>I also contacted the hosts to clarify some discrepancies between the listing and booking confirmation: <br/>Car Parking is suggested to be available, as the listing states cars would need to be inspected by staff but was told, post booking, that there isn't any parking, you can park for 10 mins to unload and are given the address of the nearest paying car park. <br/>Check In/Check Out times varied between 3pm/4pm and 10am/11am between listing and booking confirmation. <br/>I had to request the correct times twice before receiving them and the listing has not yet been updated after highlighting this. <br/>Before check in you receive a 'welcome guide' with a link to find the property, however, this link defaults to an incorrect address and we had to call on the day of check in to request a new link with the actual location. <br/>Finally - on the evening before check out we received a message requesting we wipe down all surfaces with antibacterial wipes, remove bins from the property and wash all plates/cutlery, or put them through the dishwasher - none of which was included in the initial listing, booking confirmations or documents printed within the property and we had already been charged a £50 cleaning fee at the time of booking. <br/>I am disgruntled to have had a negative experience as the property itself was nice (although a little dusty) and a good location.

Short walk from centre. Not a spec of dust anywhere. Modern, living space with good size bedroom and bathroom. Kitchen supplied with all the equipment someone would need. Easy access. Will definitely be back. Well worth the stay. Host communicated regularly and was there if we needed them. Thanks you so much for the great place to stay.

Really good location. 5 minutes walk to get inside the city walls. Beautiful place and exceptionally clean, had everything we needed. Hosts were very communicative and helpful. <br/>Parking is the only issue we had it’s quite tricky to get to if it’s your first time in York - all the streets have one way systems and are dead ends with bollards in between roads. All residential areas are permit holders only and the car park nearby is quite pricey.

Superb apartment, with all modern facilities, in a quiet location, just a few minutes walk from York minster. There is a supermarket/off licence nearby, which was handy for a few essentials. Bed was so comfy, slept really well. Will definitely be going again, and would highly recommended.

Stayed here for 2 nights & wasn’t disappointed. The apartment is done to a really high specification throughout & made it a home from home. Location wise you couldn’t ask for better. There’s parking a minute away and you’re on the shambles in 5 minutes. Will definitely be booking here again when I’m back visiting this fantastic city!
