The property was in a fantastic location and a lovely property well kept and beautifully decorated and comfortable beds.

If we had to say anything negative it would be that , The sofas are not comfortable to sit on and the door handle at the bottom of the stairs leading in to the dining room was hard to open and needs fixing. The cottage is beautiful and we did find it fantastic overall brilliant location.

We wanted for nothing, the house had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend the cottage as a great base for Amble and its surrounding area.

This was our second stay at King's Cottage in Amble and as with the previous stay, it did not disappoint. Great place with everything you could want with lots of lovely beaches and walks within walking distance. Great bars & restaurants also a short walk away. We'll definitely be back again! ?

Great house with great facilities.

Parking was ok - one car behind the house in the lane. We parked the second car around the corner on the next street.

A beautiful cottage within walking distance to shops and harbour. The little things like providing dishwasher and washing machine soap were great.

Nothing I did not like

Homely, comfortable and well equipped

None

Good heating, clean and modern

Parking

Lovely modern finish.
Had everything we could have needed.
Lovely and spacious!

Nothing.

Booked for the weekend and really enjoyed it. The house is fantastic, has everything needed for the stay. I love Amble so i am biased but it is great location.

Lovely house but unfortunately the dog smell let it down. We knew it was pet friendly but the smell was very strong of dogs. The blankets/throws hadn’t been washed and were covered in pet hair. The mat at the back door was dirty and there was someone’s old take out tub full of sauce at the back door. The actual property and decor/amenities can’t be faulted. I fed back to the company and they responded quickly.

Property very well equipped - lovely furnishings - very spacious - two lovely log burners - ideal to walk into town

The property was fine it was host and stay the agents that let it down. Arrived - fridge had not been turned on did not realise until following morning - 2 log burners but no initial supply of logs - only one toilet roll in each toilet - one t-towel provided - no oven glove provided - debris left under settees in lounge - hob in oven did not work - contacted host&stay on the day of arrival after lots of contact we left the property three days later with none of our issues resolved - very poor agents I feel sorry for the owners of the property as it is a lovely house - they just need new agents.

The bins hadn’t been emptied outside by the council and were full from previous guests. Had to keep going to the recycling centre

The house is gorgeous! Beautifully decorated and clean. The log burner made it so cosy. The location is great, with just a short walk to local shops, pubs and restaurants! I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be staying again!

We had such a fab time at this lovely home! The log fire was lovely to cosy up with and the dining space was great. Shower was lovely and beds comfy! Deceivingly big from the outside too, there was 4 of us and didn’t feel cramped at all.

The house is gorgeous! Beautifully decorated and clean. The log burner made it so cosy. The location is great, with just a short walk to local shops, pubs and restaurants! I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be staying again!

Beautiful house, felt like a home from home, great location, walking distance from the beach and amenities. Lovely log burner and comfy bed.

We had a fab weekend at the cottage cosied up with the log burner on watching Christmas films! It was perfect. The house was a lot bigger than expected and we could all spread out. The shower was lovely and the beds were comfy!

Great location, exceptionally nicely decorated, spacious rooms and bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, super comfy beds, plenty of pillows and towels, within easy walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants and not far from beaches and a park/lake.

Kings Cottage is furnished beautifully & has everything you need for your stay. It’s in a great location, close to the town. Parking is tricky next to house, but plenty parking a couple of minutes away. Recommend The Old Boathouse, Harbour Inn and Amble Inn for food. We love Amble & surrounding area, it’s our second visit & will definitely be back, but would not stay at Kings Cottage again. There were some cleaning issues, eg. dusty surfaces and dirty mirrors. The shower tray needs a lot of attention, a discoloured anti-slip surface, and black mouldy surrounding seal. The tray itself was unclean. We had to re-pressurise the boiler to get heating going. There is only one single radiator in living room, so remember plenty logs if staying in winter as it’s the coldest room in house. The electricity tripped twice as well. You just don’t expect these type of issues on your stay.

We stayed here for a weekend in October as my son had an event nearby. The house was great and suited our needs it was really well equipped and decorated and maintained to a lovely standard.
Parking was tricky as we have a big car and the road was narrow but we found somewhere to park.
I would recommend the house.

A really nicely modernised cottage, and a good base for a small family to explore the area. There are a couple of issues for potential hirers to be aware of, which may matter to some but not others: 1. The on-site parking is space for one very small car down a back alley. We parked nearby and walked the luggage in instead. 2. The boiler is in a cupboard in the main bedroom, which is noisy if trying to maintain the thermostat temperature on a cold night, as it constantly fires up through the night, so not good for light sleepers.

Much larger than it looks from outside. Very well equipped. Lovely furniture and comfortable beds.
Very close to town centre and harbour.

Parking is a little tricky but there was always space in nearby streets. It is OK to park on King Edward Street to unload.

King’s Cottage in Amble exceeded our expectations for our family holiday. It was larger than we expected, was well equipped, and decorated and furnished to a high standard. It was in a great location, only 2 minutes from the shops and restaurants, with good road connections to many local attractions.
For a family of 4 on a 2 week holiday to the area for the first time, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend King’s Cottage.

The house was lovely, well presented & comfy settees, beds were really comfortable & the shower was great. Loved that we cold walk into Amble comfortably even for my husband who's had a stroke, had some lovely takeaways especially the Taj Mahal. The freezer wants defrosting as it was constantly working overtime, could have done with some handwash & washing up lquid. There was one tablet for the dishwasher so if there were 6 of you we'd have had to have bought more to ensure enough plates, glasses etc. All in all it was really enjoyable but definitely time for us to have somewhere with no stairs. Forgot the amount of emails & messages drove me mad, especially as some seemed to be duplicated, may be somethng for you to note

Great house. All the rooms were bigger than they look on the pics. Amble is a delight with lots of great places to eat and some nice pubs a short walk away. The beaches are wonderful.

I am not impressed with your service, I have never had to telephone a company so many times to check if family could go or if I had to cancel. Numerous emails, all repetitive but no answer. They use super hog to verify you. WHY?

I spent last few days before stressed, not knowing if I would be able to go. I sent confidential bank statements and driving licence to a website not knowing if it was secure. Do not use host and stay group. Why make your life harder?

Location convenient but no views. Property clean and well appointed

En-suite would be nice. Sofas not very comfy. TV a little high.

Location was just a short distance from Amble centre and its amenities. The cottage was outstanding. It was large inside with modern uptodate decor. Very well equipped and comfortable. Can easily accomodate 6 people.

It states on site parking. You can park around the back but its a tight alley. At the front there is no parking. You have to find a spot either at the end of the street.Good luck with that!!. Or in Middleton St which is a very short walk away. We always got a space here.

Great location.clean modern house beautifully renovated. Everything was there you needed. Think would be nice if you mention downstairs loo in spec online as that's a great addition especially for older people. Overall we had a lovely stay.

The back yard needs some homely touches and more importantly cleaned once in a while as lots of old debris. We had to clean when we got there. Also would be handy if you leave some disinfectant so people can clean up after the birds. The area definitely could be improved on as great little asset with all day sun. The bulb lights weren't working when we were there which would have been a nice touch, may just need a new battery.
Also think host and stay need to review their admin. We received many duplicated emails and texts which were not necessary before and during your stay especially about 10am check out!!

I would definitely recommend this property. It is a sophisticatedly decorated and conveniently located house with a vast amount of things to do. We would definitely go back. Our week was filled with activities near and far. Thanks for making us feel comfortable and welcome.

Overall a good property for 4 to 6 people that was well described and reflected on the booking website within easy walking distance to the town centre and harbour for pubs, restaurants and shops. Great location and base to visit the area with friendly helpful neighbours. Our overall rating was only reduced to 4 stars because of the road parking to the rear of the property down a very narrow street. This was challenging to say the least in our 4x4 negotiating bins, stone walls and parked cars giving only inches to pass. Free Roadside Parking is available in nearby streets or in the harbour carpark at £3 for 24 hours. A very enjoyable stay and we can recommend Jaspers restaurant which was excellent. You do however need to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Kings Cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished, ideally situated in the middle of Amble. Many shops and restaurants within a 5 minute stroll. The harbour area is attractive with several seafood restaurants and a market. I would highly recommend this property and a holiday in Amble - we'll be back!

clean - all the rooms were good size - modern decor - well equipped - good shower. location perfect

wasn’t sure about parking round the back as was quite narrow but could park at end of street which was fine

Good size property & only a short walk to shops, pubs, marina etc
Kitchen had everything needed, beds were comfy & the area was nice & quiet.

Only issue I had was the length of time taken to get the security deposit back, plus it was taken 2 weeks before the date of our stay, which seems excessive to me. The property itself I cannot fault.

beautiful cottage tastefully decorated and very comfortable.

A great little house, beautifully presented with everything we could have needed for the stay. Excellent communication and useful downloadable 'info app'. The house is updated to a high standard with comfortable furnishings and tasteful decor. Spotlessly clean too. Situated in a quiet, residential backstreet it is within easy walking of Amble's Main Street and harbour.

Wonderfully comfortable and well equipped house, on quiet street. Warkworth and all of Amble in easy walking distance. Interesting estuary and harbour, with Coquet Island wildlife boat trips. Morpeth, Alnwick and Almouth Station all nearby and on bus routes. No shortage of local shops and eateries. Well done and thank you to the owners for the many thoughtful touches. Will be back!

Lovely house - pretty much everything we needed.
Very easy to access the town

There was no bread knife!
Also, onstreet parking was OK but it would've been nice to know in advance - the listing says "private parking onsite" which isn't strictly true

The property was clean, warm and well equipped. Parking tight immediately outside but plenty nearby. Beds actually comfortable! Lovely stay.

Three friends, just returned home from Kings Cottage. We loved it. It was immaculate, well equipped and spacious. It was a comfortable home, with good design, great layout and well capable to hosting 6 persons. We’d love to go back.

Amble was fantastic too, for walking, beach combing, the market, wine bar and restaurants. Amazing long weekend.

The house was beautifully decorated, in a great spot, but there were some issues with the cleanliness. There were glasses left in the cupboard with lipstick on & all glasses were very grubby with finger prints all over them. They remain there, as there was no washing up liquid so we could not wash them & didn't want to risk putting these glasses in the dishwasher. Most of the mugs, plates and bowls were also quite grubby & some food stuck to some crockery. It was quite dusty in places, with some dust and hair on the floor of the shower. While the beds we stayed in were clean, we noted there were hairs on the single beds in the third bedroom. On the last day the heating would not come on, and the boiler was showing an error code. In the build up to the stay we also received lots of automated messages from Host & Stay in error. Due to this, we would likely not book a property which uses Host & Stay again. It is a shame as the building itself is lovely, & we would have given 5* otherwise.

Lovely house, very comfortable, tastefully decorated, great furniture, the place had a very fresh feel. Kitchen very well equiped had everything including coffee maker. Generally the property was very well equiped with everything we needed. Beds very comfortable with selecton of pillows, good quality linen and towels. Log burner was welcome in February weather. Few minutes walk to main street with supermarket, pubs and take aways. Host provided excellent communications . No complaints, had a great stay. Thank you !

Great little holiday cottage. Lots of space, amenities and absolutely spotless clean.

Two log burners. Location. Decor

Having to pay £250 upfront deposit. This was not made very obvious at time of booking. Didn’t like sharing all of my personal details including photo ID with host in order to get check in information this has never been required for any-other cottage I have stayed in.

Lovely stay in Amble. Made great use of the wood burners as the weather turned cold.

Thoroughly enjoty our stay at Kings cottage! It's exactly as the photos! It is in a really good location close to the high street and seaside. Co op was the closest shop if you needed anything essential. We chose to stay here as a base to visit Bamburgh and Holy Island which is less than an hour drive! There are lots of pubs and restaurants which are walkable! We only got to explore Amble on our last day and went to the harbour village market.
Kings cottage is so beautiful and perfect for us (4 adults, a toddler and baby). We all had a really good night's sleep on the big comfy beds! It was very peaceful! The interior is so beautiful and house has everything you need. I love that there were plates and cutlery for my kid! Check in and out was really easy but I wish I could've stayed longer! We parked just a street away from the property which wasn't a bother at all. There is parking at the rear though! Definitely recommend staying here!

Beautiful property goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable kitchen facilities top grade everything about the cottage was perfect bedding, towels etc l would highly reccomend had a lovely holiday

Everything beautiful property

Immaculate. contemporary style, quality throughout

Curtains in living room hard to open and close. very minor!

This beautifully renovated and excellently appointed cottage was our base for a four night visit to Amble in late October. The house is ideally located, tucked away on a quiet street a short walk from bars, shops and a bustling harbour side market. A truly perfect stay and we’ll definitely be back.

This really is exactly like the pictures. We absolutely loved our stay here and brought our big golden retriever who also had a ball. Very dog friendly location with pubs that allow dogs etc. Excellently equipped with everything you would need to make dinner. We ADORED the log burners and the lovely comfy beds.

It’s like a tardis , lots of great space and full of everything you could possibly need . Great location in the conservation area of Amble . Looking forward to our next visit.

The house itself is lovely and we had a great stay when we eventually could start making our way for our holiday. unfortunately at 4am on the morning if travel I was woken to a text saying that my stay was about to be cancelled. At 9am when the management company opened it was confirmed that they had forgotten to send me a link to pay the £25 insurance. Having received the link and paying straight away they still never hot back to me, I had again 1 hr later to chase them for confirmation and entry codes to the property. Needless to say we didn't start our journey until we know everything was in order. very poor show, sorry.

This property is very well equipped and was very clean and spacious. I don't think there was anything extra we wanted or could be negative about.
Very close to pubs and eating places (deliveries as well).
Nice town and lovely beaches within walking distance.
Excellent stay!

A tidy and well tucked away paradise. The house was spacious, clean and very in order. The area is alive and also quiet, with beautiful beach fronts and bustling markets.

We had an amazing time and will definitely return

King's Cottage is a really lovely, well put together house in the centre of Amble. The house has everything you would wish to find in a luxury holiday let and is within easy walking distance to the beach and local shops & restaurants. Well located as there are some great places to visit within a 20min drive from the house. If you're looking for a bit of luxury by the sea you can't go wrong with this property.

Excellent. Great location, peaceful, well appointed, very comfortable beds.

Wonderfully decorated, spacious house with comfy beds, plenty of hot water and a well stocked kitchen. In a quiet area with only a short walk into town. Parking can be tricky if you have a large car.

This is quality accommodation in a great location. Place is well equipped and well looked after. Recommended!

The house was kitted out with high quality items, the kitchen knives were better than ours at home. Handy location to walk to shops/quayside/restaurants/pubs. Beds were comfy, quality bedding and towels lovely shower! Great base for exploring all the castles and the coastline.Communication from Host & Stay was good, we had no issues.

Quality items in the house, wasn't kitted out with the cheap basic knives for example were better than ours at home!
Local artists work on the wall/decorative pieces added to the overall feeling of quality decor.
Comfy beds with pristine bedding and towels.
Dog area at the end of the road was perfect for our dogs toilet requirements.

Parking isn't possible at the property. A small car could be left in the back street. We had no issue parking our large van in the adjacent street.

Gorgeous dog friendly cottage with beautiful interiors & useful outside space for lazy brunch or balmy night drinks. Kitchen well equipped although lots of choice in great neighbourhood eateries..... especially recommended is 'Jasper's' superb food & service (need 2 book well in advance). Excellent location for exploring & within walking of all local amenities. Beaches stunning. Everyone extremely welcoming. Easy parking. Highly recommended & will definitely return.

Kings Cottage was superb. We had a fantastic stay. We booked Friday to Monday, however should of stayed longer. It was a great base to visit the surrounding area. We visited Amble, Warkworth, Newbiggin by the sea and Plessey Woods Country Park . We ate out at the Wellwood Arms, The Old Boat House and Taj Mahal. Great food from all three restaurants.

The property itself was gorgeous and finished to a high standard. It felt like a home from home!

Could not find back door key

super clean, comfy beds lovley location

we feel that there could do with being tvs in each bedroom even jusy small ones

Kings Cottage is a beautifully presented cottage within easy distance of Amble's town and waterfront amenities. The cottage appears recently modernised to a high standard and offers a modern and clean environment with ample room and all the required facilities. It provides a great base to tour the Northumberland coast.

lovely decor, very comfortable had everything you need!

parking was a bit tricky, could park in alley at back of property. not very clear about bin days, a neighbour let us know we needed to move car as bins was due to go out and car would have been in the way, would be useful to have this information.

Great location in a lovely town. Very clean, well dressed, spacious house. Locals all very friendly and helpful. Labels on bins to inform what bin was for what would be useful for recycling.
We would come again.

King’s Cottage in Amble was a great find. It is in a quiet street with handy parking in the lane that goes behind the house. There are key safes at the back and front doors which is very handy.

The house is tastefully decorated and nicely set-up with a well appointed Kitchen with ample utensils, tableware and serving ware. Basic provisions were also appreciated. It has a very comfortable lounge and the dining room seats 6 easily.

Only a short walk into town but it is rather quiet so check out an eating establishment early or cook at home.

We used King’s Cottage as a base to explore Alnwick Castle and Seahouses for a boat trip to see the puffins. There is a boat trip that leaves from Amble to see the puffins so if you want to do that one book early.

Overall a very pleasant experience.

We had a fabulous time at King’s Cottage. The owners have provided everything you could want, in whatever weather. We enjoyed days on beautiful but quiet beaches and exploring ancient castles. The local seafood restaurants were amazing and family friendly. We loved the beautiful details in the cottage and the proximity to the town and harbour.
