The town of Burton upon Trent is associated worldwide with brewing and is reputed to be the brewing capital of the UK. Lying just 11 miles south west of Derby, just across the Derbyshire border into East Staffordshire. Whilst brewing is clearly still prominent in this historic market town, Burton is by no means dependent on it, having calved out a reputation as a thriving commercial hub utilised by many sectors from retail, manufacturing, legal services and more. Tied into brewing but part of the wider picture is the town’s relationship with water. The River Trent runs parallel to Burton’s main street, whilst the picturesque Trent and Mersey Canal, once a hive of industry, has been largely repurposed as a valuable and popular leisure attraction, evidenced by the likes of nearby Barton Marina.
Burton upon Trent has fantastic rail links to locations across the UK. Direct routes to can be found running to Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff, Plymouth and Edinburgh. Several bus routes can be found in Burton upon Trent, with services operating to Tutbury, Swadlincote, Lichfield, Derby and Uttoxeter. East Midlands Airport is 20 miles away from Burton upon Trent.

Quirky industrial style building with convenient access to main roads leaving area. Building itself is in an ominous area so although there's apparently security on site, it's not pleasant when returning at night. Zero airflow whatsoever so apartments are not only scorchingly hot but other tenants food smells linger in the halls for days. Sink had an "off smell" emitting from it which combined with lack of airflow and heat was unbearable. Thankfully only needed the apartment to sleep in so time inside was limited. No WiFi available - even after reaching out about this so needed to rely on data with not great service in the area. Toilet seat far too small and also skew. When raising issues with staff, zero support provided other than "escalation emails" with no responses. Have had to chase a query for months which has still not been resolved and I have followed ALL routes to try rectify but keep being brushed off - emails / phone calls. So while relatively affordable, experience has been incredibly poor with terrible service and facilities. Very rarely leave negative reviews but after this diabolical experience and providing them several opportunities to sort the issue I could not leave this. Would NOT recommend nor return.
apartment is great , clean spacious , great parking , lovely building TV didn't work (no antenna connection and could not connect via WiFi as that was also broken) , sitting for 2 nights staring at 4 walls is not good at all ! did contact Host & stay , plenty of platitudes and promises that someone would contact me but NOTHING! spent the evenings trying to get something working but nothing . also building is very large and took 30 minutes dragging a suitcase round trying to find apartment , no signs or maps once you get into the building , complaints team promise to come back in 7-10 days ....... bit late once you have already spent your money and left the building ! also noticed that TV & WiFi broken is mentioned in many reviews ......... so obviously not a new issue
