Matched expectations and provided a good location for a stay in kirkbymoorside

We liked the central location. The house is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style and it was very clean. The living area is comfortable; the kitchen offered everything we needed for our stay – although we didn’t cook any meals during our visit. The bedrooms are lovely. The beds are super-kingsize ( with the option to separate to 2 large singles) and very comfortable. Plenty of storage, a dressing table mirror, hanging space and a hairdryer are provided in each room. It was great to have separate bathrooms and made life a lot easier. Both are modern, clean with large, fresh bathsheets provided.

The stairs leading to the upstairs bedrooms/bathrooms are quite steep and narrow and there’s no downstairs toilet, so for those with mobility issues it might cause a problem, but we’re all in our 70s and had no problem with access.

Kirkbymoorside is a lovely small town with a couple of small supermarkets, a bakery, butcher and pubs ; we would recommend The Lemon Tree fish and chip shop and, if you are staying over the weekend, the Carvery at Kirkbymoorside Golf Club is a must for Sunday lunch!

We would have appreciated internet provision.

The property was spotless and well-equipped. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and huge. The stand-alone shower was very good and it had a good heating system.

There were only two things where we felt improvement could have been made. The first was a more comfortable sofa as the one provided wasn't that good and a mirror downstairs would have been much appreciated.

Very comfortable and clean. Beds were excellent as were the showers.
Linen and towels very good.

No WiFi was disappointing.
As we are all over 70 a handle over the bath would have been good to aid standing for the shower.

Lovely old cottage, nicely decorated. Very comfortable beds and nice linen. As others have reported, bar stools are wobbly on the tile floor. Easy access to the moors or main route between Thirsk and Pickering.

The beds were very comfortable and the decor was very homely

Could do with a more comfortable sofa/more seating in the living room but still was great either way.

Great location, nice and cosy

Kitchen could be slightly better equipped with cooking utensils - not too much of an issue will know for next time.

Spacious bedrooms, lovely bathroom beside each bedroom. All very clean and lovely decor. Very close to centre for eating out.

The living space was the same size as the bedroom space so felt a bit enclosed. No outdoor area to use (the area at the backdoor was more of a back alley so didn't feel comfortable sitting out). Also stairs were a bit challenging for my elderly dad, he did manage but a proper pole to hold on to would have worked better than what was there as you couldn't grip this well

A lovely house with a cottage feel. Very comfortable stay however slightly interesting check-in. We had to sign and pay a damage waiver and couldn't get an access code until we did this. A shame as so many amazing places on Airbnb are now run by bigger companies and not everyday people. Something to consider when booking as we much prefer talking to private hosts! Also no wifi at all - which is a first! Still a lovely place and maybe the cleanest I've ever seen!

Property needed a GOOD CLEAN,there were spiders in cupboard, sounds of a mouse at night nibbling on 1st floor b’room, sofa needs new legs as they are marking the stone floor, windows, filthy such a shame, fire never been cleaned,3bar stools& there was 4 of us, plant pots need binning, outside facilities BAD, bar stools were rickety,
No welcome pack.not told about £275 accident deposit until we were half an hour away from property.
WOULD LIKE A CALL BACK TO ME, as we rang them & were put through to china somewhere!!!
rugs a NO go on top of carpet in bedrooms, is accident waiting to happen they were all rucked up very bad,

Bedrooms are spacious. Nice showers and very hot water.

Rugs in the bedroom are a trip hazard especially in the top room because they were ruffled up instead of sitting flat. I was worried for my pensioner mum in the night. Tried to straighten them but the furniture was too heavy to lift. So had to leave them as they were. It would be better with smaller ones so they sit flat.

Es gab leider keinen größeren Topf bzw. eine Pfanne zum Kochen. Die Küchenutensilien waren von schlechter Qualität.

Nice and cozy

The owner isn't really want to talk to you. I've tried to ask him a few things but the only thing he talk to me is about the damage cover to make sure I pay for it. Other then that, didn't respond any other questions.

The location was great I have an Uncle who lives in Kirkby Moorside! so I have been before. The local facilities are good the nearing towns are stunning. Beautiful part of Yorkshire.

I am really being picky but the Cottage windows could have more sound proofing.

This is for 4 people with no where to sit and eat. Kitchen has 3 stools which are very unstable and only 1 pan to cook with, knife & forks are flimsy and cheap. No clingfilm or foil but you do have a dishwasher with 3 tablets but only 6 cups plates and so on, soap liquid would have been a lot simpler. There is a coffee table with two bolt upright backs which are not comfortable to sit on. Bath needs a bath mat in for safety. Most of this was said previously in other reviews. Tacking care of the little this makes a difference giving lip service doesn’t .

We loved our stay here, the property looked newly renovated and felt very cosy.

The key safe is at the back door not the front door. You access via the gate at no 22.

Although the place is well located for exploring the Yorkshire Moors and has all the listed amenities, we were overall quite disappointed by the stay. Firstly be aware of the security deposit taken by Host and Stay for the stay- £260 additional was taken from my account prior to arrival and I will apparently get £250 of this back 7 days after checking out. This is not something I've experienced with other air b n bs. On arrival, the property was unfortunately not very clean. It had been cleaned since the last stay but that was clearly a while ago as there was a build up of dust and debris throughout the property which I ended up having to clean myself. Finally the furniture is quite cheap and wobbly and there is nowhere for 4 people to sit and eat which was disappointing.
on the plus side the showers were powerful and as stated it was a good location.

Fantastic location, spotless, decor was beautiful and felt really homely

A small Christmas tree or decoration, with it being the Christmas period before New year

Lovely cottage, great location for local attractions very cosy and the beds are super comfortable.

There were 4 of us in our party but there were only 3 bar stools - so made eating together tricky. Just missing a few basics in the kitchen like an oven glove and salt/pepper. Access to the Wi-Fi would have been even better.

The property is lovely and modern in a beautiful, quiet location & very clean.
It does say that the key box is located at the front door but is at the rear of the property & we struggled to find it initially in the dark. Also it says the property has Wi-Fi but no code/ password is given.
Also if you want to eat in the property, for 4 adults you would struggle as there isn’t a table & chairs. Just 3 bar stools.

The cottage was clean and comfortable, really nice position and the village is beautiful, thoroughly recommend the George and Dragon in the village.

I had to contact the office for the key box number, and was not told the box was round the back of the cottage, and I kept getting the same email day after day. The cottage could do with an information sheet, internet code, and eating recommendations etc.

Big comfortable beds, everything you'd expect from a whole property rental.

Few little things which I've fed back directly to the property manager but nothing that wouldn't just be a nice to have.
