Beautiful cottage, spacious and clean. As a family of 6, we loved the three floors as it felt as if we had our own space.
Central for everything in Kirbymoorside and surrounding areas.
We would definitely return.

Parking can be an issue, but we knew this when booking, to be fair we always found a space not too far away.

Comfortable well-appointed cottage. A great base for a local family reunion.

House is in a great location in centre of Kirbymoorside. It had everything we needed, although some of the furniture felt a bit tired (dining room chairs were all wobbly).
It was a shame check in was so late at 4pm.
House was not clean when we got in- things were clean to the eye but the kitchen and bathrooms in particular had not been cleaned properly.
Bin bags from previous guests left by back door untied so the area was full of flies.
We were disappointed with the cleanliness considering the high price you pay for cleaning and the late check in is to allow for deep cleaning.
We also had to make our own bed.
We still haven’t had the security deposit returned to us 14 days after check out.
I would advise others to consider when booking- there is a high cleaning fee and you either have to pay them an insurance policy for damage, or pay a large security deposit, which they charge an admin fee to return it back to you (and we have delays getting it back).

We stayed here over Christmas in order to be close to family and we had a lovely stay. The cottage is as described and was a great layout for us as a family with two children who used the adjoining room and my mother had a very comfortable king room on the floor below. We were grateful to the hosts for making sure the house was lovely and warm for our arrival and for the Xmas tree they which made our stay festive. We had a couple of issues (no tea towels, kitchen needed a bit more cleaning and doors need some wd40) which I’m sure will be rectified for future guests as the company hosting were very responsive. The cottage was warm throughout our stay and lovely bed linen/ towels and starter toiletries provided. The location was great for us visiting family in york and we enjoyed a trip to Helmsley. Note the stairs are quite steep and only a bathroom on second floor so not suitable for those with mobility issues and had my children been younger I would have required a stair gate.

Perfect for us as a family of 4 (and dog!). Close to town centre, easy drive to many locations in and around the moors and coastal areas.
Town centre Pubs, take aways and supermarkets all made the stay really stress free and relaxed.
10/10

Great little place to stay right in the heart of the village.
The wheely bin in the back courtyard was overflowing with rubbish so not a pleasant place to sit.
There is free street parking if you are lucky and find a space.

Self catering

£90 for cleaning is a high price when the house had cobwebs in every room. The cobweb in the fireplace must have been there for weeks. Skirting’s going up the stairs were dusty. Window ledges were dirty. The house had a small outside seating area which we couldn’t use because the green bin was overflowing and VERY smelly on sunny days

Beautiful decor
Nice size
Lots of storage
Convenient location for shops

Beds weren't very comfy and one was very squeaky
Overall cleanliness was ok but there were some areas that had a lot of dust or bits of rubbish, and there were lots of hairs in the bathroom
Parking was difficult but we used the local car park which wasn't far and reasonably priced

Breakfast not included , exerlant location for what we wanted. Very good 1st impression when we opened the front door. Spotless ,nice deco, plenty of room. The children loved the 3rd floor.Beds were very comfy. We all loved it, and my wife is very hard to please. Would use again if in this area.

1 tiny issue, 1st floor double bed had 2 side lamps, only one reached the socket.

Cottage is nicely decorated and well equipped.

Three lamps in the living/dining room were not working. It was too dark to read or play a game at the dining table after dusk.
We reported that at Host& Stay and they would repair it as soon as possible. However, three days later at ckeck out it was not yet fixed.
Also releasing the damage deposit 1 week after we checked out should be much faster.

Complete en ruime woning. Alles erop en er aan. Met twee badkamers en toiletten.

Parkeren op straat en meestal niet voor de deur. Maar op zich is dat geen probleem.

The accommodation was very good. Nice house, great to have 2 bathrooms.
Also very convenient to shops, pubs etc.

Sometimes difficult to park outside house but not a big issue as parking usually available on main street which was only about 200 metres away

Cosy cottage, well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds.
Good location for visiting nearby attractions.

Parking tricky, but that was explained
Host & Stay damage waiver needs to be clearer when booking. £250 upfront payment or £25 non refundable is not clear when making initial booking. It soured what was actually a very pleasant property and nice stay.
Instructions for using tv would be helpful.

We visited the property for a birthday weekend with family. It was exactly as described and really well equipped. Immaculately clean. Loved the touch’s with the coffee machine and orange juicer. We brought our two dogs and appreciated the patch of grass in the courtyard, useful for quick toilet breaks.
Personally, we found the instructions about the rubbish and recycling quite confusing as they referred to bins and boxes that weren’t there. A small thing.
Finally, I would like to mention the late check in time of 4 pm and early check out of 10 (clocks changed, so even earlier for us). I know you need time to clean but 6 hours? - a slightly later check out time, say 11 am would have given us a more time to enjoy the property.

Clean, comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Location is great...groceries, drink and food in walking distance, and a fantastic base for exploring further afield in the area. Note - there is a compulsory security deposit organised just before check in that costs a minimum of £10

Kirkbymoorside is a lovely village just by the North York Moors National Park. This cottage is right in the heart of the village, and we really enjoyed our stay here. It is well-located for walking and sight-seeing, and welcoming to return to at the end of each day. The beds were very comfortable.

We enjoyed every minute of this stay at a great house. The layout was perfect for us, we were able to put our young daughter in the adjoining bedroom so she was nearby.

The en-suite in the top bedroom was fabulous, the house was immaculately clean and had literally everything you could need.

The location was great. Kirkbymoorside was a super friendly town and a great base for exploring the dales. We had a day out to york as well. The spar and co-op are really handy.

Brilliant place to stay, hope we can visit again soon.

Unfortunately when we arrived, there were the previous guests bin bags out at the front of the property and the bins out the back overflowing, which hadnt been picked up, in the middle of summer which meant there was an awful smell until the were finally collected 6 days after we had checked in. Only 4 forks in a guest house that slept 6 so we had to buy extra cutlery. Kitchen was dirty and we spent our first evening cleaning. Communication with host and stay was ok and they tried to resolve the issues but the bins were never taken away, as we had hoped the next day after we had checked in. Cottage in itself is lovely with nice linen and towels, just needs a deep clean. We were happy enough with location. Parking can be a bit hit and miss.

Not a dislike but just to make you aware, there were only 4 forks and 6 of us, so a few more forks would have been nice. Also could do with a bottle opener and colander in the kitchen.

Stayed in this property for a short break recently. It’s centrally located in the town so close to the shops, bars etc. But in only a few minutes you are out into the open countryside. So it is very well positioned for the moors and you can easily get to the east coast e.g. Whitby, Robin Hood Bay and Scarborough. Would definitely go again.

A lovely house - bigger than we thought and a great base to explore Yorkshire. Even though it’s on street parking we managed to either park in front of the property of fairy close to.

This is a fantastic, charming property in an ideal location for exploring North Yorkshire and all it has to offer. The property was very clean and well equipped, in a lovely quiet location with a great selection of shops/ bakeries, and pubs within walking distance. There's no dedicated parking but we didn't struggle to park on the street for free nearby. Kirkbymoorisde is also a fantastic base from which to explore the coast, moors, FlamingoLand, and various heritage properties. We would definitely return and recommend.

A beautiful well-presented property with great attention to detail. Good interior design with gorgeous, carefully curated soft furnishings and a fine array of equipment available. Consequently, 25 West End is well set up for self-catering. Excellent location with easy access to local amenities, walks on the Moors, exploring villages or a day out at the coast on the beach or walking the coastal paths. We very much look forward to our next visit. A true home from home with an extra flourish!
