A lovely cottage in a great location. We were happily surprised to find a downstairs bedroom, which was great for us. We feel that this should be advertised as it can be such a bonus. We were disappointed that when we contacted Dale on our first night to let him know that the oven door wouldn't work we didn't have any support. We had chosen self catering but were unable to cater very much without the use of an oven. We had some lovely weather and enjoyed sitting out in the garden.
Enjoyed our stay. However, had to be extra vigilant with youngsters. Wouldn’t class this property as child- friendly. Also, there were no T towels or oven gloves in kitchen. And no grill pan handles - had to use hand towels from 2 toilets - this left only 1 hand towel for 6 adults. (Would have expected more hand towels to be provided.) Oven trays/pans/grill pans etc all used and dirty. Glasses in cupboards grubby and sticky. Green refuse bin outside was overflowing and rubbish was in bags on floor round it. A stair spindle in the bottom lounge stairs is rotted and broken exposing a nail. Informed Dale about lack of kitchen linen on arrival Monday afternoon, and 1 T towel was dropped off on Wednesday morning - there were 9 of us staying in this property, and 3 hand towels and no kitchen linen is not acceptable. Otherwise, we did enjoy our stay, and Dale did reply promptly to my messages but assume he was probably let down by the people working on his behalf.
