The location was good for local transport.
The accommodation was clean and bedrooms roomy.

We arrived in very wet weather to find that the guttering needs fixing - there was a constant gush of water falling from the gutter outside the kitchen when it rained. The back door was difficult to lock.
The main disappointments were that, while there were only three guests, the accommodation catered for six, but there was a small dining table with three chairs, none of which could be sat on, or were safe to sit on. Having registered this, Host&Stay were quick to provide three new ones which was good. There was insufficient seating for more than three people to relax on.
There were no cooking utensils, other than pans, and the cooker hood was not attached properly to the wall. The bath panel some attention. The carpets were not all fixed at the thresholds.
Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the wall in the kitchen by the back door where clearly there is an issue with damp or similar & where the plaster is affected. It was in need of repair.
While the property was generally clean, there were several scuff marks on walls.
Judging from the amount of uncollected mail and the various names on it, it would appear that the accommodation has been used as a student let. This seemed to fit the ambience and feel of the place.
The tv did not work while we were there - there was no signal from the Virgin box. We were able to get tv via the internet but not the promised numerous channels and films. The tv only worked with long cables and extensions that jung in front of the fireplace - none were in sight on the photos advertising the accommodation.
Host and Stay were quick to respond as they could, but only the chairs were actioned on.
I am sorry to report the above. However, it would not take much time to address most of these points. Uploading photos was not possible - despite changing the file extensions to any of those accepted.

Spacious. Modern.

Not the cleanest. Shower didn’t work on our arrival. One of the chairs were broken. Couple of health and safety issues such as nails sticking out of carpets.

It was a nice size for our group of 6 and located close to St James’ Park. Was basic and comfy enough for the short time we spent in it. Good communication from Host and Stay re check in etc - the website was really helpful.

The street itself was really dirty and covered in loads of litter that we had to climb over to get in and out. There were groups of men hanging around outside of the door to the apartment most times we went in/out, and also meeting up in cars outside. There were several broken things in the apartment such as the bath panel was hanging off, exposed light fittings etc. Just felt like it needed a maintenance update. The bedding and towels all had hair on them. There was unopened Mail piled up around the apartment which felt a bit shady.

the apartment was gorgeous, spacious and well decorated

there was no cuttlery, there was teabags provided but no cups, I had to go and buy some and we wasn't warned about this. the apartment was also very cold and there was no clear directions to use any heating so in the middle of the night it was freezing
