The Space
Snoozy Goose is a dog friendly stone-built cottage with charm in abundance. Featuring a fully equipped kitchen, a large living and dining space with a beautiful wood-burning stove, two comfortable bedrooms and a lovely family bathroom, this homely property is perfect for self-catering stays in the Northumberland countryside.

On the ground floor you’ll find a cosy living and dining area. With windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood the room, this space is the ultimate spot to unwind. You can turn on the flat screen Smart TV and kick back on the sofa, or snuggle up and
get lost in a good book. The dining area in this space includes a square dining table and traditional chairs.

Shaker in style, the kitchen features wooden cabinets and dark worktops. You’ll be able to prepare home cooked meals during your stay as the kitchen boasts modern appliances and cookware.

Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms plus the family bathroom. The master bedroom benefits from a comfy double bed traditional wooden furniture. You’ll have ample space to store your belongings as there is a matching wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Head to the second bedroom and you’ll find a cosy space. With a single bed, this room is ideal for little ones and teenagers. Both rooms in Snoozy Goose boast plush bedding and premium bed linens to ensure you have a good night’s sleep.

The family bathroom features a bathtub with an overhead shower, WC and basin.

Neighborhood
Snoozy Goose is located in the village of Ovingham in the south of Northumberland. This quaint village has a playing field, a corner shop, a local pub called the White Swan and a rum bar called Shenanigans. Snoozy Goose caces the Ancient Goose Green where, every year, a traditional fair is held. For Runners, there is a weekly parkrun on the Banks of the Tyne which starts just across Ovingham bridge every Saturday at 9am.

Just one mile from Ovingham is the town of Prudhoe where there is plenty for you to discover. Explore Prudhoe Castle which was originally built in a series of Norman Castles along the Tyne after the 1066 conquest. Enjoy a fun-filled day at Prudhoe Waterworld which has a 25m pool, a slide, a splash pool, a wave pool and a huge inflatable. If you enjoy a spot of golf, Prudhoe Golf Club is a short drive from Snoozy Goose.

Ovingham is also 2.5 miles from the pretty village of Wylam. With a rich heritage in railway, it is the birthplace of George Stephenson so it’s a great place to see where one of Britain’s railway pioneers was born. If you’re interested in trains, we’d recommend a visit to Wylam Railway Museum where you can learn about the village’s history. There are plenty of scenic places to walk and cycle in Wylam too. You can head along Wylam Waggonway or Hagg Bank Bridge.

Getting Around
Ovingham has great bus routes to the nearby towns and villages. Hop on the X84 route which travels from Newcastle Eldon Square to St Andrew’s with stops in Wylam and Hexham. If you want to visit Prudhoe, the 686 bus will take you there.

The closest train station is located in Prudhoe which is a short walk from the property. There are regular trains to Carlisle with stops in Sunderland, Newcastle, Metro Centre and Hexham.

Newcastle International Airport is 11 miles away from Ovingham.

Really lovely little cottage in perfect location.
Every thing, bedding, crockery etc very high quality….really enjoyed the place.
Just disappointed with wood burning stove as I enquired about whether there would be wood etc to set a fire on our first evening and was told there would be but there wasn’t

We loved our stay at the Snoozy Goose-exceptionally clean, very comfy beds and a fantastic location. Beautiful views across the green. We loved walking our dog through the community orchard and along the river. A very friendly village with a lovely, welcoming village store.

Really nicely setup little house.

Check out time of 10am is a little too early.

Property had been very tastefully renovated, with every facility clients could ever need. I could not fault the cleanliness on takeover.
The outside patio area was very pleasant to sit out on and it enjoyed quite a bit of the day sunshine

My only slight concern was the steepness of the stairs up to the upper floor and the narrow depth of the treads. However there is a dado rail for gripping on to, to counter this.

Property was in a good location for what we needed. Pleasant outlook and nice area. Comfortable beds.

Found dirty clothes in one of the drawers. Piles of dust under the bed. Extra admin charges to get the extortionate deposit returned. Not clear on booking and host would not return this despite pointing out how unclear the charges were.

This cottage is well appointed. Our stay was spoiled by attitude of host company who scammed us out of further money once the Airbnb fee was paid. On calling them they were unhelpful and not able to provide a reason for the extra fee. We paid a top rate already to Airbnb and were not informed there would be other hidden charges. There was no choice but to pay. Other renters be warned.
We feel any extra charges should be clearly listed in Airbnb’s costs
We feel this is sharp practice and unnecessary

Fabulous location. Quiet area and amazing doggie walks on doorstep. Immaculate property and beautiful furnishings.

Maybe a table lamp in the sitting room for ambience but that’s a minor thing. And maybe a large doggie mat as you come in for paws!
