The Space
Gas Light Cottage has a spacious living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Featuring a flat screen TV, comfy leather sofas and a fireplace, the living area is homely and welcoming. The ideal place to relax after a busy day in the city, you can cosy up with your loved ones here. Sharing this space is the dining area which includes a round dining table and cushioned chairs.

Fully equipped, the kitchen has modern appliances and cookware so you can really make the most of your self-catering stay.

Just off from the kitchen, you’ll find the family bathroom. Ultra-modern and clean, the bathroom benefits from a walk-in shower, WC and a vanity unit with a basin.

Both bedrooms have plush bedding and premium bed linens to ensure you have the best night’s sleep. The master bedroom is home to a comfortable double bed, while the second room is a single.

Head outside and there is a pleasant courtyard with garden furniture and potted plants, perfect for enjoying the fresh North Yorkshire air during your stay.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Neighborhood
Ripon is a cathedral city steeped in history and home to magnificent historical buildings and long-observed traditions. You will find a trio of award-winning museums and a gothic cathedral that dates back to the 7th century waiting to feed enquiring minds.

With a thriving marketplace and a magnificent cathedral, this busy little city will earn a place in any visitor’s heart. Reaching out from the market square are small streets and snickets that are home to the eclectic and specialist shops for which Ripon is so loved. Amongst them are cafes and pubs, offering refreshment and home cooked food throughout the day.

This city’s history is entwined with the church, both due to the cathedral in the city centre and its proximity to the nearby Fountains Abbey.

The growth of the city through trade and manufacturing led to the building of a canal to link it to the navigable parts of the River Ure. Today this makes Ripon a delightful city to explore, with riverside and canal side walks that reach into the countryside and buildings that span the last thousand years.

Getting Around
The closest train station to Ripon is located in Thirsk where you'll find regular routes to Leeds, London, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Sunderland and York.

A number of bus services can be found in Ripon. Hop on the 22 to visit Knaresborough and York, take a trip on the 36 to enjoy the sights of Harrogate and Leeds, or travel on the 70 to call in to Northallerton.

The closest airport is Leeds Bradford International, 23 miles away from Ripon.
