Sandside Beach House

It was close to the railway station and the beach. We ate at small local restaurants and cafes in the town.<br/><br/>Travelling by train I would have liked a left luggage facility .

It was a great weekend away and the staff from Host & Stay who you communicate with if anything is need couldn't be more helpful. They went above and beyond. Thank you.

Location … it’s perfect <br/>You are just a few minutes walk to the beach and/or shops<br/>Half an hours drive to Whitby <br/>Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a lovely little seaside town which is just charming and fun to explore - lovely clean beach (with very dog friendly areas and also dog exclusion zone) with lifeguards … and old fashioned arcades and pier - it really was a lovely place to visit.<br/><br/>Have it cleaned properly for guests arriving …. <br/><br/>It has clearly been given a quick tidy up but it wasn't clean <br/><br/>The floors were also dirty, noticed on the kids socks after just 5 mins of exploring the house.<br/><br/>Dirty dishes, dirty mugs and glasses and previous rental food in fridge. <br/><br/>Whoever does the cleaning let's it down as it was disappointing to arrive <br/><br/>Ensure basics like heating controls are working, it took until the third afternoon to have hearing fixed and we checked out at 10am the following morning.

Loved everything! my only very small criticism is I would have liked a mirror in the downstairs bedroom for drying hair etc. <br/>Everything else we couldn't fault at all and will definitely rebook :)

The location was fabulous, the decor and amenities were brand new. Tbags, coffee, milk and cleaning products like washing up liquid were all provided which was a nice touch. <br/>The code and key box were quite easy to locate, although the property is actually up a little side road and I assumed it was on the main road, but found it although in the dark it didn’t help.<br/><br/>All the forms which had to be completed prior to a 2 night stay and the insurance policy which was either an additional £25 or £10, was a bit much. I’ve never had to do anything like that before. The insurance policy should automatically be included in the price as with most places or a refundable deposit without the admin fee! <br/>A security light at the entrance is needed, as there are quite a lot of concrete stairs up to the property and when you arrive in the dark not knowing quite what to expect, it’s a bit of a hazard with 2 elderly people and luggage. <br/> <br/>The bathroom on the first floor leaks each time someone had a shower onto the flat roof, then becomes a bird bath. <br/>The backyard section is a bit scruffy, although this is shared with the rest of the large property, also didn’t quite know what to do with our rubbish as the bins were all full to bursting.

Location was everything and both bedrooms are very spacious. The 2 bathrooms also puts this property above others of a similar size.<br/><br/>All amenities were top notch. Just needs a tin opener and a dustpan to go with the brush. No other improvements.

We loved the location and the layout of the property. It was well furnished and equipped. Perfect for two couples and the dog.<br/><br/>The outside area was great for us and the dog because it was enclosed. All in all, a great place to stay.<br/><br/>The outside furniture was great, but it didn't look like it had been wiped down in a while. We had to brush sand off the chairs and give the table a good clean.

Location, two bathrooms<br/><br/>The cooker and hob were dreadful - really bad especially when children around, so dangerous but to be honest actually getting the hob to work was luck of the draw - maybe some instructions or a better hob altogether. <br/>No brush and pan, toilet cleaning liquid would be nice. <br/>Bedside lamp broken - plug completely broken.

Weather didn’t help on the first day of our stay with rain and wind across the country. On arrival first issue was the limited parking available, but eventually we found two spaces. Entry to the accommodation was straightforward with access codes to front gate and the front door keys. The property was clean and comfortably furnished. We hadn’t made a note of the wifi password from the online guide, but eventually this was sorted. Sunday was much better weather and provided opportunity to walk around the local shops in the morning followed by a bracing walk along the beach in the afternoon. Definitely great for family with plenty of bed space!

They biggest criticism was no washer. Our party had been traveling and we needed a washer and that is why I booked this place. I reported this straight away. Called again and was sent a complaint form and again no response.<br/>It was dirty. I had read negative reviews about the cleanliness and called Host and Stay and they said it had been taken care of. Not true.. There was an old earbud and hair in the <br/>bathroom drawer. Dog hair all over the sofas. I’m allergic to dogs! I had to wash all the dishes and cutlery. There was still pizza on the pizza cutter from the previous guests. The coffee machine takes specialized capsules that I could only find on the Nespresso site or Amazon so no use. <br/>The inside of the cabinets were even dirty.<br/>Remind guests that the house is actually on Diamond Street and not Marine parade.<br/>Called again the day before check out and was told I would get a call that day or the next. Booked with Airbnb multiple times and to us was the worst Never book with Host&Stay

We really enjoyed our few days stay. We had everything we needed & should i visit Saltburn On Sea I would not hesitate to return to this property.

It was. grest location and place to stay . First night the heating was not working properly but then we figured it out and the house was much warmer .<br/>The fire place was useful to have . <br/>kitchen did not provide washing gloves and sponges. I would take it next time:)

The location is great. Some nice modern parts in the apartment.<br/><br/>The cleanliness, needs a good clean, especially the en-suite upstairs. Also the spiral staircase is a worry, very flimsy and wobbly. At the top there’s a gap and the three railings at the top have just been screwed into a piece of wood, very dangerous for children. Not sure how they got past health and safety regulations. <br/>Also the mirror in the big bedroom needs to be moved, it’s behind the clothing railing ?

Compact and modern.

Three of us and two dogs stayed at Sandside for one night on a cold and windy March weekend. The house was everything we needed, warm and cosy with bright modern furnishing and was well equipped. The location is good with easy access to the beach and to cafes and restaurants. <br/>The step down to the bedroom and up to the shower are not very elderly friendly and we didn’t even try the steep spiral staircase up to the double bedroom. Also, I couldn’t for the life of me work out how to put Virgin TV on but that was probably my fault.<br/>Over all however it was a nice convenient place to stay and I would recommend it.

The location is very good as Saltburn is a place we have visited many times and it is beautiful.<br/><br/>Serious security issues with this property and it is in desperate need of good trades people for example - silicone around the bath has separated so water escapes at the back of the bath which is evident by the damp smell in the bathroom; front door handle is loose and badly fitted - it looks like it has been broken in; part of the rail at the top of the very narrow spiral staircase is loose; shower door doesn't close properly so water sprays over the floor. The front gate and back door is on a code system. We noticed money and medication had gone missing when we returned on the second day so someone had clearly been in the property. Host and Stay's response to this was unhelpful and completely inadequate. Apparently it is a lot of trouble for them to keep changing the code system so it is not often changed. To top it off, someone keyed our car which was parked outside the property.

Lovely place and location

nice kitchen/dinner and remote gas stove,light and airy,liked the American style fridge freezer with chilled water and ice dispenser<br/><br/>downstairs bath/shower,the screen is not <br/>adequate to stop water spraying onto the floor,also seal had gone around the edge of the bath allowing water to pass resulting in the flooring lifting and a foisty damp smell in the room.also the lock did not operate due to poor fitting.the front door had new handles on but after two nights stay the outside one was ready to fall off.the central heating didn’t work very well radiators where very noisy in the front room.

Excellent location just a few steps and there's a stunning sea view. Down the nearby steps and you are straight on a huge stretch of beach. This section of the beach is dog friendly all year around. Town is so close too which was great. The house was clean and modern. Garden was fab and plenty of seating.<br/><br/>Nothing. Loved our stay

Spacious house with most of the necessary requirements for self-catering provided.<br/><br/>Wrong code for the gate entry was sent through email 24 hours before the holiday- so struggled to access the property.

Quiet location and very close to the seafront and also train station and shops including Sainsburys, vintage and gifts stores, and restaurants.

Fabulous location of the property with adequate garden space. We managed to get a parking spot right outside the property, on arrival which was great for unpacking. <br/>Inside was modern and well compacted, there was a very useful manual on things to do and places to eat in the area which where all in good walking distance or a short journey in the car or by bus.<br/><br/>On arrival we had difficulty getting into the property as the wrong code for the key lock safe was given. After calling the host, we was told we was at the wrong building and directed to another property around the front to then be give another wrong code. Finally we was sent back to the first property we was at and given the correct codes to enter. As we tried to open the front door we found it to be quite stiff and needed a good pull on the handle to turn the lock. <br/>There where a few complaints we felt as though the property was not cleaned properly as there was sand and dog hairs on the sofa and rubbish under the sofa. <br/>Using the tv was difficult as the remote was missing and then as we was cleaning to leave we found the tv remote. <br/>Just to bring to your attention, the bunk bed could do with being tightened as was a lot of movement <br/>Apart from that we had a very good stay

Location to shops, bars and restaurants is ideal, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, 2 hairdryers, coffee, tea, milk, salt and pepper, rubbish bags provided. Comfy.<br/><br/>Needs to be a fan or a window that can open in sitting room boiling hot, blinds on the velux windows or eye masks, needs baking tray but foil provided.

The location is very good. The property is very clean and well thought out layout.<br/><br/>The spiral staircase would not do for everyone.

Para empezar, antes de ir te mandan un email con un enlace dónde tienes que escanear tu DNI y rellenar tus datos, pues en el momento en el que la aplicación tenía que sacarme la foto, siempre daba error, como que no conseguía utilizar la cámara de mi móvil, a pesar de aceptar los permisos. Pues sin la foto no era válido el proceso a pesar de que mi DNI si que estaba adjuntado. Tras varios intentos, les mandé un mensaje a través de Booking, la propia aplicación de Booking te ofrece una traducción inmediata cuando recibes un mensaje en otro idioma, por lo tanto les expuse mi problema en español, y me responden que ellos solo hablan un inglés. Así que les mandé un nuevo mensaje, esta vez en inglés exponiendo mi problema e informándoles de la posibilidad de darle a la opción de traducir. De todas formas, para evitar nuevos problemas, el resto de los mensajes siempre los envié en inglés.<br/> Con respecto al alojamiento, fuimos un grupo de 4 Personas y nos quedamos 6 días. El día del check in, nos enviaron un sms con un código para abrir la puerta del jardín, otro para abrir la puerta principal de la casa y un número de teléfono para llamar en caso de emergencia.<br/>A nuestra llegada sobre las 00:00, el código de la puerta del jardín no funcionaba y no podíamos acceder a la vivienda. Nos comunicamos con el número de emergencia proporcionado por los dueños de la casa y correspondía a una centralita, la persona que atendía al teléfono sólo podía mandar mensajes por escrito al responsable de la casa donde nos íbamos a quedar, nos pidió un número de teléfono al que devolver la llamada y nos dijo que esperamos. A los 20min de estar esperando, en la calle con 8 grados, volvimos a llamar, esta vez, dimos además un número de teléfono de UK, tras otros 20min volvimos a llamar nosotros porque nadie nos devolvía la llamada, la mujer de la centralita, por suerte siempre la misma, nos dijo que ella no podían hacer nada más.

The Sandridge beach house is in agreat location for all the local amenities there is a bar only 50yrds away .<br/>The location of the place is only a 5mins from the beach front <br/>The house itself is spacious and modern <br/>We will be going back as its a dog friendly also <br/>5 star

The house itself was nice although smaller than we imagined. Decor was modern and was well equipped. The beds were not put together in both rooms like I requested but that is a minor point. The place wasn’t cleaned to a high standard, there was soap scum in the sink and the splash backs were splashed, again a minor but we pay for cleaning so it should be sparkling, not just wiped over. I would always leave a place clean and tidy but when we are paying for cleaning I think asking us to wipe all surfaces down with antibacterial wipes is a bit much. ( don’t use the Covid card) The outside yard to the property was disgusting. Junk thrown everywhere and bins overflowing which hadn’t been emptied in a while. We had a nice time but this is the first time we had anything to complain about when staying in an air B and B. Shame, as this was our first stay with Host and `stay. Don’t let this review put you off as the property is nice, cosy and modern. These things can be put right. One other thing, there is a cosy fire in the photo which doesn’t work. Very disappointing as this is one reason why we chose the property. A friend stayed in another host and stay property this week and they had the same, could not use fire!

Sensational place in the most perfect location. Roomy, with a surprisingly large and extremely comfortable bunk bed - the lower bed is a double with plenty of room. Fully equipped kitchen, spacious all round and exactly as per the pictures, if not a bit better!

The location was perfect and the accommodation fully met our needs.<br/><br/>There was nothing we did not like.

We had an amazing stay and communication was excellent if we needed anything. The accommodation could not have been in a more perfect location with an easy walk to the beach! Local shops and restaurants were close and plenty of space for parking. We can’t wait to return!

Fantastic apartment right on the front - incredible location, beautiful scenery and the place was immaculate. Very comfortable and good sized beds. The apartment had everything we needed, and we used the BBQ on a sunny day.
