Perfect location, centre of Saltburn. Layout and decor were very good. Well equipped kitchen. Homely feel.
Not enough hooks downstairs for coats. Sofas could have been a bit more comfortable. Towels could be updated.

Location, books, spaciousness, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. PAC Man arcade, ID Magazines, light, quiet, quirkiness of the place, milk frother, nice message left on the board from the owners.
Love the game in living room
I couldn’t have a coffee, lovely coffee machine and no pods and not been emptied so used pods left in the machine and couldn’t have an instant even
Not keen on the Skeleton picture in 2nd bedroom but I’m on my 3rd visit so I can live with it ?just creeps me out
Where have the inflatables gone from the bathroom cupboard

All I wanna say is so brilliant excellent fantastic. The house is like an art gallery. We also painted a plate to share our happiness of spending holiday for Chinese new year. Pretty cool house. Highly recommend.

A fantastic and unique property in saltburn.
Close to pretty much everything you will need and within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and supermarket.
The apartment itself is totally unique with little quirks wherever you look.
Beautifully and creatively curated but still felt like a home the moment we walked in
Can’t wait to revisit!

Location perfect for bars and supermarkets and a very short walk to the sea front. Accommodation had everything we needed.
Very minor points which we raised with housekeeping for future reference. When we arrived at 4.00 pm on a cold January day the heating was set at 12 deg C. I can understand to save energy but should have been switched on in the morning as we didn’t get the place warmed up til v late. Secondly we struggled to open the inner door with the key which we could see had had some wear and tear.

Trying to review The Artists Pad without mentioning the word quirky is impossible, damn I’ve mentioned it ,but it’s what makes it different to your usual air b@bs.Loved the artwork and the thought gone into it especially the Pirelli calendars. The apartment is spacious and has everything you need for a great stay, location fab 200 metres from Saltburns bars and 500 metres from the sea. Will definitely return.

The good:
Spacious and stylish, quirky artwork, very comfy beds, nice bathroom, warm, good location
The bad:
Poorly equipped kitchen for cooking anything of note: 3 cheap pans, no chopping board, no oven gloves, no baking trays, no dustpan & brush, no dish cloth, no kitchen towel. All essential items.
I informed Host & Stay about some of these things to which they were responsive but ultimately unhelpful, calling their helpline to which they advised me to check all drawers and cupboards. Which I did many times.
A balustrade is missing from the landing (my 4 year old could and did fit through - I believe this is illegal by building regs) and is unsafe for small and curious kids
Completely inflexible on check in and out times.
I am an experienced AirBnb-er and this is hands down the worst experience I’ve had. It’s the first and last time I’ll book a place that isn’t managed by the owner. Host & Stay are efficient and responsive but ultimately lack any kind of customer service.

The Artists Pad was fantastic
Nothing it was fantastic

Great location in Saltburn. Good communication with the owners. Well equipped apartment. Easy parking.

Quirky big clean in an excellent location
Nothing everything was perfect

Very good

Great location in the centre of town & easy street parking (beware of the Lime Trees!) close to all amenities, trendy craft ale & wine bars (bit pricey) & traditional pubs. Sainsburys & railway Station close by, good selection of smaller shops & coffee shops. Local 2nd hand market stalls at the weekend.
Then excellent facilities, ice cream, fish & chips, etc. down on the clean sandy beach, pier, funicular railway (good value £1.60 per adult). Also Miniature Railway short walk away, again great value (£2.00 per adult).
Checking in time too late (16:00) & Check-out too early (10:00) - feels like lost part of a full day!
Standard Damages Insurance Retainer £250 (refundable less £10 admin charge) - Question of transparency/trust without need to photo everything in property. Opted for Waiver Insurance £25 for peace of mind.

Great place to stay, very cool apartment and lots to do. Maybe mention that some of the art is unsuitable for kids (although mine were too young to notice)! Would definitely return to the Artists Pad - we had a brilliant time.

Great place, very convenient for Saltburn, Whitby, Seaham etc.

Location
Parking
Netflix
Shower
Milk in fridge
Safety for young children (my son is 4) scissors on bottom shelf in kitchen
Skeleton picture in second bedroom (caused issues with getting little one to sleep in own room)
Only one dishwasher tablet
No detergent
Too many things that could get broken by little people, would have helped if owners had moved things higher up, given that they knew a 4 year old was coming to stay.
PAC man at top of the stairs= death trap, my little boy fell off the stool which is at the top of the stairs, ended up moving the stool into the kitchen to prevent him trying to sit on it.
Although if you have order children be warned there are lots of pictures of beautiful but naked women on the staircase.

A wonderful holiday in your lovely flat. The kids loved the Pac-Man game. Perfect location, great quirky touches. Thank you

Fantastic space with quirky features. Great location close to the coast and all the important places in Saltburn. Perfect for a stay for two couples.

We enjoyed our stay in this fun, quirky accomodation. Enjoyably spacious, clean, and very well located for exploring Saltburn.

Very pretty

Absolutely fantastic property. Everything we needed. The design and creativity gone into this place is beautiful. Spotless and plenty of space. Huge bathroom, comfy beds. Loved the Pac-Man machine- spent a few hours on there as one of my childhood favourites. Stayed in Saltburn many times as one of the best beaches in UK! Would definitely return to this property. Thank you.

Beautiful, quirky, fun, well equipped!
Bit of a hassle getting the dog outside for the toilet but that can’t be helped!

Great location.
Lovely flat - full of interesting things. After 3 days it felt like home. Would recommend.
Would have liked small sharp kitchen knife. Couldn’t get Netflix to work in the living area - was OK in the bedroom. Note on front door said all guests are asked to decorate a plate - we enjoyed looking at previous guests plates but we didn’t get one and were a bit disappointed.

A beautiful apartment with a thoughtful and stylish interior and in a great location too.
Kitchen ceiling was undergoing some DIY during our stay, other than that the place was immaculate!

quirky, clean, spacious, well equipped
nothing

Loved the videos of the property shown on their website. Unfortunately this must be an old video as quite a few of the features were not included or were now broken / damaged. Loved most of the apartment. I took some cool photos. Location great. Not too noisy but the dog next door does bark a bit.
Communal carpets dirty. Some of the “ornaments” made areas look a little like a jumble sale. Just odd bits scattered around. Lots of personalised, signed bits to “Neil”. The old fading plates on the wall put the kids off eating. Great idea just everything needs a clean / finishing off. I wasn’t going to take photos of the bits that needed attention as it was nothing major. Their website said they offer plates to decorate, we did not see these.
This is the 4th booking we have made this year with H&S. We hadn’t received check in info on the morning we were due to travel. This has not happened before. I emailed but didn’t receive a reply. I called and was told I hadn’t signed a waiver. I had not received this and have not had any for our previous bookings. I was also told I had to pay an £250 for insurance? Then instead I paid £25? Now I’m still unsure whether this was down to H&S or the owner whoever Neil is.
I was then was asked to send ID. It’s either a new thing or Neil is worried about his collection going walkies. My passport is in my maiden name. If I was asked to send ID when I booked our previous 4 stays then I would have known which name to book under. Why this couldn’t have been done last August when I had booked god knows but if I hadn’t called on the morning
to check we would have arrived and my passport would be at home. It’s really put me off booking again to be honest.

Loved the place- located perfectly and walking distance from all the lovely sights :) The interior of the house was especially delightful and we will definitely be back!

Loved the location , decor was cool and fun , beds were very comfortable , loved all of the windows , natural sunlight and fresh air .
neighbours dog barked whenever we passed the front door . some damage to the houses walls and stair railing that have not been fixed . lights in the kids closet had no batteries . sofa was comfortable but felt a bit gritty, which is understandable being a beach house that allows dogs . Sofa and red coffee table could use a deep clean but otherwise the entire house and our stay was wonderful .

Great pad, fab location. Easy parking outside. Very quirky with so many interesting books and wall displays. Quiet on a night.

Could do with an extra pan if cooking for a family and key to open back bedroom windows as it was warm during the night.

Overall a great stay and we'll be back ?

A quirky flat with interesting things to look at. 2 decent sized bedrooms and comfortable beds. Only wish we had stayed longer!

Spacious flat on two floors; well-appointed and nice and quiet. Decor a bit whacky, but different and interesting. Ideal location in Saltburn. Would recommend.

Everything! Especially the plate thing! Lots of fun! Location was great! So close to a long stretch of sandy beach and also the local town. Facilities in the apartment were first class. Lots of room. And such an eclectic collection of artwork that even us two pensioners never ran out of conversation pieces to chat about. Loved the Pacman machine too! A competition every evening! Brilliant. So enjoyable! Just 3 nights away but feels like 10 days to re-charge our depleted batteries! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Needs a grab rail in the shower. (Great shower though). And a toilet roll holder stand. Oh...and a bread knife....and some spare light bulbs. Very minor suggestions, but they can make a bit of a difference.

Lovely apartment, and good location. The apartment was clean and decorated nicely.

The additional insurance fee having to be paid separately was not ideal - it would be great if this could be included in the initial price.

A unique place to stay with so many quirky features - literally you kept noticing different things. Great shower, easy parking and well equipped accommodation - definitely worth a visit.

Very spacious, stylish and interesting!
We liked it all!

I will definitely be back with the family next time, such a brilliant place in a wonderful spot. Thankyou Artist Pad team!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The flat was very clean, quiet, nicely furnished and well equipped. In the mornings the living room was full of sunlight and a pleasure to work in (I am a writer). The location is excellent - close to the station, shops, restaurants and a short walk from the beach. The hosts provided accurate and detailed information and stayed in touch throughout our visit. Thanks very much.

Really fab relaxing stay, great quirky home from home felt like a proper treat

Very artistic apartment. The plates in the kitchen are a nice touch.
Could have done with a clothes airer. Had to wash some muddy clothes and there was nowhere to dry them. Not keen on paying a damage waiver with a £10 admin fee either.

Thanks for making us so welcome at the Artist Pad in Saltburn on Sea. The weather was cold but the flat was warm. We loved the PacMan arcade game! The flat was lovely and clean and was just as described.

The location is just fine and parking was no problem in December. However, in the summer that might not be the case! Internally, the unique and quirky features were great.
Kitchen facilities were weird! Full of electrical appliances but very few basics. For instance, one sharp knife and one saucepan and frying pan only, but no oven gloves, wooden spoons, measuring jug or bread knife. It's as if the owners didn't expect you to cook. Also, we found two TV remote controls hidden from view - one under a cushion and the other under the bed! Finally, one door handle fell off whilst we were there and others are becoming very loose.

pack man machine great touch

The air bnb looked so great online, that it inspired me to visit Saltburn for the first time from a London. And it was totally worth the 4hour train journey, as Saltburn as one of the most loveliest beaches I have been too. Which is literally minutes walk from the accommodation. It particularly fascinated me that each day the beach looked different, ie one it was clear and sandy. And one day streams and sea weed were very present. And the artist pad is the perfect combination of cozy, trendy ascetically pleasing.

Wonderful location, charming resort and unique property

Fabulous apartment lots of space and quirky decorations. Very clean and everything you need.
Shower was broken and the bath is very small and took ages to fill so was hard when 4 getting ready for a wedding

We actually stayed in the sea forever appt.
Nothing

Everything - we love the apartment having been before. The location is brilliant - Saltburn is a gorgeous place. The hosts are amazing and the apartment covers all we could need for a short break. Always a pleasure.
Nothing - there are a lot of steps to the apartment so a heads up for anyone with mobility issues should be aware.

one of the most unique stays I have ever done! the flat is amazing and constantly finding new things to look at. So clean and cosy. I like the little touches to make you feel welcome also. the location is brilliant and a short walk to the front. beds comfy and shower brilliant - what more could you ask for. we will definitely recommended and definitely will be back! thank you!
nothing

Everything. It was quirky and very spacious
Shower not big enough for larger people, especially as there is so much space in the bathroom.
Not a complaint but the Expresso machine does not work properly. Put the coffee pods into the machine, but only managed one coffee out of three.

Fabulous flat full of quirky and interesting things. Centrally placed in town centre, 2 minutes to the sea.

Individual style, with all areas of comfort considered. The apartment itself is curated like a gallery, inspiring creativity. Peaceful and convenient location.

Plenty of roadside parking and a key box made the tribal super easy with bags and a baby.
Perfect location between the beach and town. Means everything is within walking distance. Milton Street has all the essentials we needed - supermarket, coffee shops and restaurants.
The apartment is immaculate - lovely and clean. And the decor is brilliant - really fun and uplifting.
The shower is hot and powerful. The beds are comfy. And there’s space to hang your clothes.
There was nothing I didn’t like but if I had to pick fault:
- The apartment is a bit chilly which was fine in September but maybe an issue in winter.
- The stairs might not be appropriate for older people or crawling babies/toddlers.
- A hairdryer would’ve been a bonus.

Everything
The shower in the bathroom was far too small considering how large the bathroom was. I’m 5’4” and slim build and only just fitted in. However, my husband 6ft and 16 stone struggled to turn around in the shower and wash. The bedroom pillows were far too soft and the Veloux window in the bedroom would have been better with curtains or a blind.
Apart from the above, it was absolutely brilliant.

A fantastic base for a holiday. Close to lots of places, shops, restaurants and the beach. Parking was good outside or in the side streets. TAP is a really quirky place and we were constantly noticing new things in it while we were staying. We will definitely be back again soon!

Fab location. Funky decor. Really comfortable. Sainsbury’s across the road. Cafe with amazing food and a perfect cup of tea just down the road.

Love the artwork, Pac-Man machine and the plate to decorate.
Location is ideal for the shops and restaurants.
Close to beach and free parking.
Bed really comfy, nice and quiet in the attic room.
No hairdryer which might not be an issue for everyone, but I had to go for dinner with wet hair which was less than ideal for someone with long thick curly hair. Also when I messaged they said they couldn’t get one out to me.
Also disappointed the fairy lights in the kids cupboard didn’t have any batteries in so couldn’t see to play in there.

Amazing decor, so unique.
Spotlessly clean.
Fabulous location
Great facilities
It was all amazing!

Just fantastic!!!! Amazing place, great location- we didn’t want to leave.

The Artist pad exceeded expectations, fully deserving of all the positive reviews it has received. Immaculately presented , everything feels high spec .Artwork and books are great and Pac-Man machine was a huge hit for the teenager and his dad :) Cannot fault anything would definitely book again . First time visit to this area and we loved it

This is a great place to stay- it’s inspiring and fun. Everywhere you look, there’s something interesting to see. If the weather is rubbish, there are some great books to settle down with. The owners have created a space that is both playful and comfortable.
I love Saltburn, it’s a simple and beautiful place. Nothing pretentious about it. It feels like a town that is on the up- some of the beautiful old buildings have been restored nicely and there are great places to eat and drink nearby.
Nothing could have been better.

Everything, it was quirky and fabulous, great location.

Everything, stylish, quirky and lots of special extras. We will absolutely be back.

The art and photography, the plate we were offered to decorate
PAC man arcade machine

Everything you need for a few days away - comfortable beds, stylish furniture, great location. It was super clean. The decor is amazing- something to see everywhere.
Nothing

Really cool place we absolutely loved it for our surf weekend. Plate decorating is a great idea and leaves a personal stamp. Will definitely return.

Such a feast for the eyes. Very clean and welcoming absolutely loved staying here

A wonderland; achingly cool.

frickin awsome!

Loved our stay at The Artists Pad and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique stay in a wonderful seaside resort. We can't wait to return soon!

Quirky and cool flat full of interesting pieces throughout. Super cosy with brilliant heating, a massive plus as it was absolutely freezing outside the week we were there. A few minor issues on check-in were resolved very quickly and would definitely stay again.

Had a great stay at The Artists Pad this weekend! easy check in and great communication throughout. The apartment definitely has the 'wow' factor and I really enjoyed looking around at all the pieces on display. the apartment is well located for the train station and town centre and took us just 5 minutes to walk to the sea front. It was a welcome break during this tough time! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely outstanding apartment. Quirky and unique but with everything you need and more. Ideally located for bars and restaurants and a very short walk to Saltburn beach. Couldn’t recommend it enough, we will definitely be back!

The Artist’s Pad is a conveniently located, unique and comfortable apartment in the picturesque town of Saltburn-by-the-sea. It’s on a street boasting a number of bars and restaurants and only a short walk to the promenade with it’s lovely views of the cliffs and Victorian pier. Inside the apartment it is furnished to the highest of standards with art, photography and pop culture collectibles. The owner has an excellent sense of style. The living room is airy and bright with a smart TV and interesting book collection. The kitchen is a very sociable space to gather with friends and the bedrooms are comfortable. The spacious bathroom has a nice freestanding bathtub and shower cubicle. It was a very pleasant stay and a very nice town to visit.

Quirky, entertaining thoughtfully curated flat

Thanks to our hosts for making us feel welcome and relaxed. Our children loved the place and the location was excellent.

Great place. Spotless and quirky

What can I say other than amazing, truly special place that I will most definitely return too.
I loved everything about the Artists pad fantastic place in a cool location

Jason

The Artist's Pad is absolutely gorgeous. A really stunning and stylish place. The location is great too and it's just a very nice and spacious pad. Lucy our dog loved it too. We got some great tips on what to do and where to get some yummy food too. We will definitely be back.

Sparklingly clean, wonderfully quirky and stylish, attentive hosts. We loved it, the kids loved it. Can’t recommend highly enough. We will be back!

Fantastic flat! Loads of space, amazing design, comfy beds and spotlessly clean. We were travelling with 2 small boys so all the quirky lamps, figures and gadgets kept them entertained for hours. They now want their room redecorating to be more like the Artists Pad

This apartment is bright, beautiful and comfortable. Good location and easy communications.

We had such a fantastic stay at The Artists Pad. The space is really unbelievable, and so fun. We kept noticing more and more little stylistic touches! There’s ample amenities at the flat and the location is so central, everything else you need is right on your doorstep. We were really charmed by Saltburn-by-the-Sea too, so would definitely recommend staying here for a little mini break!

This is such a lovely space. Light and warm and super cool and stylish. All amenities and locale superb. Great location for getting out and strolling around beautiful Saltburn. I cannot recommend HIGHLY ENOUGH!!!! I want to live there!!

Stylish centrally sited flat, very comfortable and well appointed.
Spacious and easily enough room for four.

Dan Cooper

This is without doubt, up there with the best properties we have had the pleasure to stay in. Unique, inspiring, quirky, fun, light, spacious, intriguing, perfect!! And the location is excellent. And it’s brand new! Parking outside the property you have access to the secure key box....opening the door you are greeted into a beautifully tiled, light filled hallway. Make your way up the stairs and to the flat entrance, once inside you can’t be anything other than impressed!! The designer furniture, the artsy collectibles, the signed pieces from the owners commissioned photography work! Wow wow wow. The rooms are a great size, the 2 bedrooms are lovely, spacious and the comfort of the beds was something else!! The kids slept through! Which they never do even at home in their own beds! Location as I said is great......a hop and a skip from the shops, bars and restaurants of Milton Street which is the Main Street in the town. The sea front is really not much further, a 5/10 minute walk from the property. We ate and drank at Rockcliffe Hall, Guns Bar, Rapps and Coco&Rum. All excellent! You have everything you need within walking distance including local delicatessen, butchers, Spar and Sainsbury’s for provisions. If you wanted to take in Staithes or Maske they are only a short drive if you want the venture. All in all we had a fantastic few days in this idillic corner of the country and WE LOVED IT! Absolutely highly recommended to book it, before it books up! Will definitely return in future. Thank you TAP for having us!! Dan Jo Oscar Joshua Xxx

The location is excellent near all amenities, the beach is in walking distance around 5-10min, very close to friendly bars and restaurants. The Artist Pad is a unique, very trendy apartment. We will definitely be returning.
