The Lookout

We stayed here before in 2023 pn our minimoon and its just like it was then. Nice and clean. Great location and view of the sea and pier. And even better we can take our little dog, as not all places like this allow pets. Right next to local amenities and restaurants. Will definitely be returning!

Had a great stay at the lookout, good location and a great view from the front window of the sea front. The only negative was the entrance to the building which had a musty smell and dusty skirting boards and peeling paint from the bathroom walls which was mentioned in another review. Loved Saltburn and would definitely return.

The location and views were fantastic. Check in, instructions and parking were all very easy and made the process pleasant. The rooms, layout and space were good. Perfect for 2 + baby. The negatives: The bathroom space was very much in need of decoration as there was damp and crumbling paint/plaster. The whole room needed a good clean. Skirting boards and walls were unclean. The rug and cushions in the living space also required a good clean. Marks and hair present. If in your check out requirements it dates that it should be left clean and tidy - it would be ideal to have washing up liquid (that isn’t watered down) and maybe some cleaning sprays/wipes. Went into the boiler cupboard to get the airing rack, this was caked in dust and grime. Needed a deep clean. Definitely needs some TLC. Definitely has more potential to be an excellent sea view stay.

Thank you very much for having us at The Lookout - it was perfect and very comfortable for our short stay in Saltburn! The Host & Stay team were friendly and informative about the check-in/out process, along with recommendations and information throughout our stay. We enjoyed an active trip away so didn’t mind the steps up to and down from the flat - great views from the flat! (Glad we packed fairly lightly!) There is plenty of parking outside and the flat is well-located to enjoy the beachfront, and a short walk away from shops/eateries. The only improvements we thought of were to have some anti-bacterial kitchen spray so we could clean the kitchen properly after cooking, and some sharper kitchen knives would have really helped with the food prep. We had a bit of an issue with the shower tray filling up quickly, which we reported back to the Host & Stay team and hopefully that can be helped ? Thanks again for a lovely stay!

Great place, really clean. Amazing views over the seafront

We had a lovely couple of days in Saltburn-by-the-Sea. I knew nothing about Saltburn and was pleasantly surprised by the views, the beaches, the lovely pier and the funicular. There are some excellent restaurants all within walking distance of the flat including No23 for pizza, Rapps cafe for breakfast and the Seaview for the crab brioche (as recommended by Nadia and Fred) and the most amazing scallops on risotto. The flat was immaculate and looked like the photos and had wonderful views of the sea. Despite the location on the front it was quiet and we always found a parking space in front of the building. Very comfortable bed and good quality linens. We struggled to get the tv to work…we weren’t quite sure if it was us or the tv but the wifi worked swiftly and reliably. The multiple sets of stairs up to the flat gave an excellent cardio workout….its called The Lookout for a reason! We feel very happy to recommend the flat and would book again if we returned to the area.

Saltburn-by-the-Sea is lovely. The accommodations decor was beautiful, however this was tarnished with a number of cleanliness issues, fridge, hob, sink & some of the cooking tins. It made us question everything in the kitchen so we resulted in us washing all the cutlery, crockery & pans we needed to use. There is no mention of the pub behind the property which made it difficult to sleep with the window open in the main bedroom. The view from the property is amazing it’s just a shame the windows are not clean & the upvc unit has misted.

Beautiful place, beautiful location. Couldn’t fault it. Was unhappy with the hidden insurance costs which were requested after booking. Either had to pay £25 for cover or have £250 on hold with a £10 admin fee. Still awaiting the £250 to be released and told it will be 14 days following check out before it will be and could take up to 10 days after that to be back in account. Would thoroughly recommend the place but the hidden costs and the fact that you have to wait so long for the deposit to be released needs to be considered before booking and factored into whether you can afford it. The requirement for a fee should have been made clear on the listing.

The flat was beautiful; exactly as described. Check in was easy and there was on street parking directly opposite the front door. Had a wonderful sea view. It was thoughtfully decorated and furnished with everything we needed for our stay; even down to details such as dishwasher tablets. The only negative was that there was an extra charge for insurance that was compulsory and wasn't made clear to us at the time of booking. It was £25 to purchase excess cover or you had to sign a waiver which came with a £10 admin fee. I don't think there should be a compulsory charge for insurance - either you purchase it or you don't and take the risk, but there wasn't an option that came without a fee. Please make these fees clear as I wouldn't have minded paying, it was the lack of transparency that frustrated me. That being said we had an amazing stay, everything else was perfect and we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Lovely but…….. It clearly states in the details that the flat is on the 4th floor and that you need to be able bodied to make the climb and you really do need to be very fit especially for carrying cases etc We also felt that being four floors up is not really appropriate for pets needing easy access for the loo The view is fantastic and the accommodation has been refurbished to a high standard and on street parking was easy to find

Cute apartment, very clean, comfortable beds. Great location with beautiful views over the beach and easy access to the town. The flat is located on the top floor so be prepared for climbing 5/6 flights of stairs...kept us fit.

Amazing views from the window, and right in the centre of town. Having hi-speed internet and smart tv is a bonus.

Wonderful place to stay for a family trip to Saltburn. The location is totally perfect and the space is well equipped and perfectly presented. We had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Great place and location

We really enjoyed our stay. The Pier and sea view from the apartment is beautiful and the apartment was modern, very clean and suitably equipped. We recommend trying out the food at the Seaview Restaurant located near the Pier. We’d be happy to come back.

Had a few nights here and we loved it. A bit of a walk to the top floor but it's worth it as the views of the sea were just brilliant. Great location and Saltburn was brill, lovely shops, restaurants, farmers market and great beach. Will definitely go again

Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend here. Perfect location for the beach, pier and town centre, all within easy walking distance. Lots of free parking out the front although this might not be the case in peak season. Apartment was clean, modern and tastefully decorated with a fantastic view of the sea. Will definitely be back!

Lovely sea-front apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great communication, and easy check in/out arrangements. Very quiet apartment but 5 mins walk to the beach, or to the shops, bars and restaurants of Saltburn by the Sea. This apartment is on the 3rd floor, and there’s no lift, but your reward is the amazing view from the front windows!
