Head to the family bathroom and you’ll find a clean, bright space. It has light wooden shelves and black matt accessories. With a bath and overhead shower, it is ideal for families with children.

Great little property in a good location to explore the area. Host and Stay seem to work hard to cover all the bases. We would be happy to return and recommend.

We found The Snug to be well equipped and comfortable. It's very well geared up for young children. Our 5 year old found plenty to keep him entertained when we were at the cottage.

We had a great few days away. Really good communication with our host and the cottage catered for our every need. I can highly recommend the snug and we’ll definitely be back at some point.

A great little property that's in need of a little T.L.C.
The good parts, a great location for exploring North Yorkshire with lots to see and do in close reach.
The house is nicely decorated with lots of nice touches.
We have a young family and the house couldn't be faulted for them, lots of toys books etc. for them to play with & explore, all the kids crockery cutlery etc. that you could need. We could easily have just packed clothes for the kids and been fine.
The bad bit is the state of repair/cleanliness.
When we walked in the first thing we noticed was a smell of damp/mould. The full damp traps in every room do not inspire confidence.
Although once we had opened windows & got the place warmed up this did abate, it's not a good first impression.
Although all the touch surfaces were clean, there are a lot of places that don't look like they've been cleaned in some time.
Overall we enjoyed our time here but the property is in need of maintenance to stop the damp and & a good clean

Overall I would say our stay was good. It’s a great location not far from Saltburn-by-the-sea via car. The co-op and local cafes were fab. The house does have most amenities.
The only disappointment for us was the cleanliness when arriving. There were crumbs on the sofa. A sock bobble and foil wrapper found in the children’s bunk bed room. Lots of old cobwebs with lots of dust on ( not new cobwebs which you can overlook). The oven, we used the first night and was the only night. The smell it caused was awful, we had to open all the windows. Things are getting tired the (what was) mustard rug is a slight greyish colour/stained and the cushions on the sofa were the same. It’s just needs some TLC and few tired things replacing and good deep. If these were sorted, it would be spot on. I feel sorry for the owners for writing this review. They clearly use host and stay and outside cleaners and would expect it to be cleaned properly. I hope this gives them chance to speak to them.

This was our second stay at The Snug. We love the location and the layout. The kitchen has everything you need.

We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the property this time. It was spotless when we visited last year, but this year it was dirty and there were a lot of spider webs. The beds are very low and a challenge for older folks to get up from. The back garden definitely needs some TLC.

The Snug was a great base to explore the area. Saltburn and the coast down to Whitby are 5 min/30minutes away. Dalby Forest was a hit for Mountain biking. The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming.

Very beautiful cottage, decor was well considered and stylish. So well equipped with all you need! Plus so lovely to have beds ready and towels provided:)
Perfect for families with children-toys & books, baby gates, children’s plates etc. The child’s room was gorgeous, again beautifully decorated with a lovely bunk bed.
Location is fab for lots of costal towns which are beautiful!
The village is perfect for getting everyday essentials, a good takeaway, chemist etc.
We also found a park in walking distance for our dog and kids!
Have recommended to friends and we would happily return!
Thank you x

Such a lovely little property, especially for young families. The house has a selection of toys, books and child's cutlery etc. It was clean and warm, the heating kicked in and promptly heated the whole house. Also a great location, with a supermarket on the doorstep. We had a perfect stay at The Snug and can't wait to return.

This was probably one of the most well equipped Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed in. Lots of towels. Almost every kitchen appliances you could wish for. And also set up very well for anyone with kids. The location is great for if you’re in the area to see the local sites as well. Overall amazing stay.

The cottage was in a great location for us, it was nice to have a parking space. Easy to find and comfortable.
Lots of toys for the children. A good and varied high street with a Co Op, there were larger supermarkets just 5 mins away in the car.
Because of the rain we visited Holey Molies in Skelton which was an indoor mini golf complex. It was really good I can highly recommend it and very good value too.
A great location to explore North Yorkshire.

We have just returned from a lovely week at the snug. The weather was not kind but we had a lovely time and our kids loved the bedroom, toys and books! Plenty to do in the local area and play cafe across the road came in useful when rainy!

A lovely cottage, ideally set up for families or small groups, very kid friendly and just like the photos. Nice village with convenient shops (Coop 2 mins walk) and really close to the coast, we walked along the Cleveland Way less than 2 miles to Saltburn.
The cottage hadn't been used for a few weeks and was a bit dusty and some spiders had been to work stringing cobwebs up when we arrived, plus the garden chairs had been left out and were filthy, so we had to spend quite a while cleaning them before being able to use them.
Overall a good value cottage in a lovely location, just needs a bit more care before guests arrive.

the layout, the comfort, the views, the look, the location, the amount of kitchen utensils , lots of games to play and smart tv too.

nothing of note….
hmm, maybe a SMALLER table in the garden for a cozier drink/chat…but the table there was fine

The Snug is a beautiful home. It had absolutely everything we needed and more. Tastefully decorated, cosy, comfortable bed and very quiet. Ideally situated for visiting the east coast with plenty of beautiful walks. The Snug is the perfect name for this unique cosy accommodation. In the middle of Skelton, The Snug is a great place for exploring neighbouring seaside towns. We booked this accommodation for a weekend away with another family and it exceeded all of our expectations. We have stayed in lots of Air B N Bs but this was the most child friendly. With high chairs, stair gates, travel cots, a beautifully decorated children’s bedroom equipped with books and toys, child crockery and even bath toys and a slip mat! They have thought of everything to help you relax and enjoy your stay. There is also a child’s soft play and cafe opposite. We were also surprised by the lovely bottle of Prosecco, waters and biscuits on arrival - a lovely touch! The snug is wonderfully decorated to a high standard and the view from the back window was fabulous first thing in the morning and at night. There is a lovely seating area in the back yard to enjoy. In short we would not hesitate to recommend this house especially for those with young children. We went to Saltburn beach for a day which was wonderful and not too littered with tourists- you can hire beach huts for £50 for a day which we would do next time and the sea view cafe looks fabulous but unfortunately we didn’t have time to eat there. We did get a Thai takeaway from Coco and Rum which was delicious and we would recommend.

Just back from a fantastic weekend at the snug. We were a family party celebrating my sons 9th birthday.
Location was fantastic for visiting saltburn and surrounding areas. Taxi was £6.50 to saltburn beach. We would highly recommend a surfing lesson during your stay. All adults and children enjoyed it. Also great pizza shop over the road.
The house has everything you need for a staycation. Hosts were very efficient and on hand if any queries were needed. There were games for adults and children and also PSP should anyone want to use while they stay. Interior was modern and spotlessly clean.
Also lovely welcome pack. Will definitely return.

We absolutely loved The Snug. It was a real home from home and a set in a beautiful part of the country. We loved Saltburn and can’t wait to return. So much gorgeous coast to explore including Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay. The Snug itself had everything we needed and we even got lucky with the weather!

A very lovely family friendly accommodation. We travelled with our 1 year old daughter and the extras provided for children were very well thought out such as travel cot, high chair, stair gates, bath toys, non slip bath mat, books and many toys for all ages. We really didn't need to bring anything with us!

The kitchen was well kitted out with all the basic necessities and more such as dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, coffee, tea, sugar, oil, spices, balsamic vinegar, rice, pasta and flour.

We also arrived to discover a soft play right opposite the accommodation for under 5's which was great for a rainy day!

All in all a very comfortable snug :)

The house is well designed, with a spacious kitchen and cosy rooms downstairs. The garden is set up for bbq but the weather mitigated against it for our stay. The place is well situated for coastal and inland walks. The locality had all the amenities one could want for a short stay.

We stayed at The Snug for a short break as the lockdown finally lifted, despite being the first people in for a while the space was absolutely spotless and extremely well equipped. All the family loved the accommodation and the extra touches, we couldn’t fault it! Amazing local area too, plenty to do and beautiful coast close by. We’d love to return!

Great place to stay with family. Well presented and lots of nice touches like toys and games, DVDs, and TV even had Netflix which was great for the kids. Kitchen is well fitted out with pretty much all you could need with a large fridge freezer (pint of milk in when we arrived) and a huge gas hob and double oven. Great little place in easy reach of lots of countryside and the sea.

Caroline

20/10/2020

We had a fantastic time at The Snug - it's a really well equipped and comfortable place to stay. Our children (2 and 4) were delighted with all the toys and books, and the location is perfect: there is a local deli, bakery and butcher just down the road, and Skelton is on the Cleveland Way so it's perfect for walks to Saltburn or further afield. The parking was a bit tricky - double yellows on both sides of the road immediately outside the property, so on some days we struggled to park close to the house (which is significant for luggage and for young children), but otherwise it was exactly as described, and we would definitely stay here again.

Just returned from a super three nights at The Snug. We are a family of 5 including a toddler and we have had such a lovely stay! The amount of amenities were incredible and everything has been thought of, from family toys and games, to beach equipment! The house was super clean and comfortable, with all baby safety bits in place. The location was lovely, with a shop on the same street and parking nearby. We were in Saltburn within 10 minutes and if any help was needed there was a helpful brochure and tablet within The Snug which contained useful information about the area. Communication was excellent between myself and the host. We would love to stay again, my two other children miss the bunk beds already! Thank you!
