A super base for exploring the moors and coast <br/> <br/>Well presented, comfy and clean and well equipped <br/> <br/>Lots of parking options directly by the cottage <br/> <br/>The village has plenty of shops, cafes and pubs and is not too busy <br/> <br/>Highly recommended<br/><br/>A washing machine for a longer stay would be a useful addition

Lovely cottage in a great location - close to everything. Good kitchen with plenty of facilities. Easy parking close to the cottage and great pubs close by

The cottage was very clean and well furnished. Although small, especially the lounge, the hosts had made the best use of the space available. The kitchen was spacious. Easy walking distance to centre of village.<br/><br/>No washing machine although there was a dishwasher. Many aggravating stacking & confusing emails from Host & Stay. <br/>Unexpected insurance payment before given key code to get in.

Lovely location near the centre of the town. Great breakfast at The Fuzzy Duck cafe just across the road.<br/><br/>TV kept switching the screen off while we were watching Wimbledon and asking for a google code. Which was frustrating.

We had everything we needed. In the centre of the village too. Plenty of places to eat and drink.<br/><br/>Large stain on dining area carpet. Inside bathroom door grubby and lock rusty.

Beautiful little cottage in a gorgeous small village. The cottage was immaculately clean and had all amenities. The cottage is central to the village and in walking distance of a few lovely pubs and restaurants. The area is gorgeous and ideal for walks. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again

Very good location. Would have liked to get in before 4pm. <br/>Surprised about being asked for insurance for accidental damage. Something that should be the responsibility of the host.<br/>Overall, would highly recommend.

Very good location<br/>Comfy bed<br/>Lovely cottage<br/><br/>My only complaint was around the deposit, it wasn’t clear when booking that the deposit would be refundable less an admin fee. When I reached out to Host and Stay they agreed to refund the deposit in full, but I did have to contact them again to get this done, as initially I was still charged the admin fee.

Beautiful area and home. Lovely stay.<br/>Options for walks, pubs. There's a small selection of restaurants in the village (including the pubs). A short drive to other options in neighbouring villages.<br/>Host was very prompt when we the hot water became sporadic one morninh. It was fixed within the day (which leads me to believe it was simple and our incompetence with boilers)

Lovely place to stay in Great Ayton, close to everything.Could always find parking just outside cottage. A washing machine would be useful if staying longer and using for a walking holiday base, could also do with a knife sharpener for those who are cooking a lot, but otherwise a well stocked kitchen.<br/>Would love to stay again when next visiting relatives up North.<br/>.

Location and comfortable<br/><br/>Appalling management company that is dishonest and uses hidden charges to make extra money.<br/>Failed to listen to concerns and failed to amend listing to reflect actual charges that would be applied.

A lovely little cottage. Very welcoming. Lovely to find everything we needed eg. tea coffee milk sugar etc. Also I now know how to operate a coffee machine. Plenty of hot water both downstairs and upstairs and towels provided!!! Beds also very comfy. The second bedroom is in the attic which is accessed by some rather steep stairs. This necessitated a change of bedrooms so the elderly couple were on the same level as the bathroom. A nice touch were the movement sensitive lights on the landing. Parking is on the street but we were perhaps unlucky and had to park on the next street. The property itself was very clean and warm on arrival.

Such a lovely property!<br/>We found Waterlily Cottage to be a great place to spend a couple of nights in Great Ayton.<br/>The cottage was really homely, with tasteful decoration, super comfy beds, great central heating and a very well equipped kitchen.<br/>The communication from Host and Stay was very efficient from start to finish, making it a very easy to find out in advance everything we needed to know about the property and the local area<br/>Great Ayton is a lovely, scenic village, with a good selection of bars, cafés and restaurants.<br/>The Velveteen Rabbit, just across the bridge, is a great breakfast spot and The Tannery is worth seeking out for a drink in a lovely atmosphere.<br/>There is ample free parking and we managed to park right outside the cottage on both nights of our stay.<br/>We’d have no hesitation in returning to this property, if we were looking for somewhere in the area.

Waterlily was a real home from home. Really comfortable, warm and well presented, had everything I needed . The enclosed yard was really handy for the dog. Parking was easy outside on the street, there was always a space. It is perfectly situated to be walking distance from shops and restaurants and endless lovely walks for the dog. Host and stay were very informative and responsive. I would definatley stay again.

All communications from booking to leaving the premises were clear and easy to understand. Entry via key box is good. The cottage is in the centre of the village and near to all pubs, restaurants and facilities. The cottage is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Beds very comfortable and plenty of hot water for baths or showers. Would highly recommend.<br/><br/>Everything was excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay at Waterlilly Cottage. Check-in and out was seamless. The accommodation was clean and well thought out and the location was perfect for trips to Whitby, Saltburn and the surrounding area. Parking is a bit of a free for all but we were always able to park within about 20 metres of the house. The beds were comfortable and the hot water was unlimited. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

The place was welcoming. Lots of little nice touches. Plenty of clean towels and bed huge and comfortable. Bed beautifully dressed. Basic food stuff left, coffee, tea and milk. Good selection of TV options.<br/><br/>My shower didn't work. Also daily reminder of check out time on email was irritating.

Great location close to amenities. Clean comfortable property with everything you could need for a short stay. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.<br/><br/>Little noisy from the nearby road (although quietened overnight) <br/>Very creaky floorboards on landing, bit disturbing for others sleeping when creeping to the loo at night!

One of the most immaculate and well equipped properties we have stayed in with Air B and B . Beautifully and functionally presented , and editions like coffee pod expresso machine were a welcome addition . Best nights sleep in the enormous and comfortable beds . Though the cottage door opens into the pathway at the side of the quite rd it was absolutely silent !And had absolutely no problem parking out side the property . Gorgeous village full of amenities and fantastic places to eat and drink and one of the best local coffee shops just yards away open at 9am ! Highly recommend this well positioned and comfortable home .

For the first few days there was work going on outside the front door (trenching) which was obviously not the owners fault but we had to purchase a sheet to lay on the front lounge carpet to stop dirt since we had our dog with us. We were there for 8-9 days and there was so facilities to wash towels and only had one towel each. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and location was really good and we would come back again.

Donna

27/02/2023

The personal touches such as having the heating on, milk in the fridge, ice in the freezer, cleaning supplies and toiletries. Large, comfortable beds. Everything that is needed home from home.<br/><br/>The admin fee to pay a bond should be included in the price, it is the only time I have had to have insurance and would think again booking with this company. I expected the money back immediately after leaving.

Place was great. Just a couple of things - pillows in the bedroom looked nice but were really high and hard which made getting a good nights sleep difficult. Luckily we brought our kids pillows with us so they were fine. I would suggest softer pillows for the guest in the future but beds were great size. Blinds cords weren’t fitted to the wall so in case of young children this would be a safety hazard. Apart from these few things everything else was great and we had a great stay.

Wonderful cottage, spotless and with a fantastic gas fire with flames. Made me the most relaxed I've been. Well appointed kitchen too. It was perfect for our family. The only thing was the cleaning fee and deposit felt a little high. Otherwise, 100% perfect.

Lovely place to stay in Great Ayton, the local butchers Petchs is fantastic if you enjoy an occasional pork pie, Aytons Fish & Chip shop is lovely too.
