Perfectly situated, the cottage is close to local restaurants, cafes and bars so you’ll be ideally placed to explore. With three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, living, dining space, you’ll have everything you could need for a fun-filled retreat. You'll also benefit from private parking.

The Space
Beautifully renovated to the highest standard, Columbo Cottage has stunning interiors throughout. This family and dog friendly property boasts a spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area with the perfect mix of traditional and modern. The living area has two leather sofas and a flat screen TV so you can retreat here after a fun-filled day at the beach.
The shaker style kitchen is a seafoam blue colour which complements the otherwise neutral colour scheme. Fully equipped for self-catering stays, the kitchen has modern appliances, dishes, cookware and utensils. Ideal for socialising, the dining area includes a large wooden table and stylish white, metal dining chairs.
On the first floor, you’ll find two bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom is a twin so it’s great for little ones. Modern and sophisticated, the family bathroom has a bath and overhead shower, WC and basin.
Head upstairs to the second floor and you’ll find the final bedroom. Benefiting from sloped ceilings, a comfy king bed and an ensuite, this room has plenty of style.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Neighborhood
Columbo Cottage is located in the centre of Whitby and you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs less than a 5-minute walk away.
The cottage is located on the West side of the seaside town making it perfect for revelling in nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.
Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around
Whitby train station is a two minute walk from the cottage so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Great location near town centre. <br/>The house was very well appointed. Everything you could have wanted was there. <br/>The hosts were very attentive and helpful.<br/><br/>The beds were hard and we could have done with toppers.

Great location and very clean. Facilities were amazing.<br/><br/>Unfortunately the only thing that spoilt this break was the uncomfortable (hard) beds. This did detract from our enjoyment. This would be the only thing that would stop us booking again.

The location was brilliant. Very picturesque so much to see and do in Whitby. Accommodation was situated in the most perfect spot a stones throw from the harbor & local attractions, although beds were to hard for us. Gift box on arrival was a lovely touch. <br/>We ate dinner at Trenchers and Cosa Nostra Italian. The service and food both outstanding.<br/>Lovely walks in the new and old town of Whitby. Absolutely loved it.

A lovely cottage, in an amazing location! Looked just like the pictures, and had everything you needed and more. The hosts were great, always responsive and so kind. We had a wonderful 3 night stay, and will definitely return to Columbo Cottage!

the cottage was very clean and provided everything needed for a weekend away from home<br/><br/>the only very slight feedback would be for there to be bigger beds! we are a tall couple and found the bed snug.<br/>but we loved everything about the cottage.

excellent location, well presented and clean cottage with tasteful decor and well equipped. parking at the front of the property is superb<br/><br/>sadly the most crucial aspect of the stay is a good night sleep. In our opinion the mattresses and bedding were not of the same high standard as the rest of the property and as such our party having a very poor nights sleep. we would not stay again unless we heard that beds and bedding were upgraded

The house was spotlessly clean and fresh, modern and comfortable with everything we could possibly need for our stay. Excellent location being nice and quiet yet very easy to walk into town within minutes and 2 parking spaces directly outside was fantastic! Lovely little hamper from the hosts and radios left on to greet us when we arrived was so welcoming and great start to our holiday!<br/><br/>Only slight negative was the mattresses were very firm although all bedding and pillows were very good quality.

Very easy to drive to with parking for two cars rights outside the front of the property. Takeaways, bars, restaurants, shops and attractions very easy to walk to and a very short distance to reach them Lots of finishing touches such as blankets to use outside on chilly evening, picnic stuff and an amazing welcome basket. Everything is clean and new and the cottage is well equipped with everything from dishwasher to washing up liquid...you really don’t need to bring anything with you.The bedrooms are split over two floors with two en suite and one next to the main bathroom so everybody can have a bit of privacy when they need it.Would highly recommend

Columbo Cottage is set out across three floors so it may not be suitable for those less able or with mobility issues.
The cottage doesn't have a separate dining room. Although it does have a kitchen-dining area which is ideal for everyone being together when cooking and dining.
