Located on the top floor of the property, you’ll find three spacious bedrooms. Two bedrooms include Super King beds, which can be made up into twins if this would be more suitable for your stay, and the third bedroom has a single bed. All bedrooms have a beautiful look with neutral colour schemes, luxury bedding and premium furnishings.

The floor below is ground level to the road and boasts a garage and bathroom which has a bath with an overhead shower, basin and WC.

The next floor down has an open plan living space which includes comfy leather sofas and a flat screen TV equipped with Freeview and a DVD player. The perfect spot for the whole family to get together, you can snuggle up and watch films after a full day of fun in Whitby. Open the double doors and you have access to a balcony with views across harbour. Ideal for relaxing, sit on the outdoor furniture and take in the stunning scenery of the river below.

Towards the back of the open plan space is the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is modern with wooden cabinets, monochrome tiles and a statement, high shine black light feature. Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, the kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. Harbour View House is located on the east side of Whitby. Stay here and you’ll be in the perfect spot to explore everything the seaside town has to offer. Just a short walk will bring you to the town centre where you’ll find narrow, medieval streets dotted with shops, pubs and cafes. Great views and amazing location

Nothing

Just lovely

Lovely host and building and great location.
Cleaning needs more attention and bathroom floors need doing. Plumbing was whistling at night.
Dodgy neighbours, had two teens jump the fence into the balcony and try snooping around our door.
Neighbour was having weed when we got in.
Great space for two cars. Garage door works.
Lovely pvt path to the River and the abbey.

Great place to stay, in an ideal location

Multi generational family of 8, including 2 girls 7 and 10, thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Whitby.
However the house was not very clean and most of the surfaces and handles had to be wiped and spilled milk cleaned from fridge. Freezer was also iced up and could not open some drawers. We found tomato seeds on the chopping board, broken glass in the dishwasher filter and chipped items of crockery that was too sharp to use .
Ensuite bathroom had an unpleasant smell thought to be as a result of water escaping from the shower tray. Only 2 rolls of lavatory paper were left and we had to purchase more along with washing up liquid for cleaning. Also no hand towel in kitchen.
Dust and/sticky marks left on tables and bathroom surfaces.
Difficulty opening the key box, only the tallest member of our party could do it.
Garage door was broken so unable to be opened, parking for only 1 car and not 2.
Our 7 year cut/pinched the top of her leg quite badly sitting on the ill-fitting toilet seat.

The property is very well equipped for cooking etc.

There is ONE off-road (Driveway) Parking space.

The views are good.

The Upstairs of the property (two double bedrooms and a single) are nice and well furnished and nicely presented.

The description states two parking spaces, one off road and one in the garage, unfortunately the electric garage door is broken and would appear it has been for some time, so the property only has one parking space available.

The large downstairs bathroom which is the large en-suite to the bedroom with 4 beds smells terrible - it smells of drains, sewage, damp and mould, indeed there is dark black mould stains on the linoleum around the toilet. Sadly this smell goes through to the bedroom and made us feel quite ill, the smell drifts upstairs too into the lounge, even with the downstairs bedroom door shut. There is clearly a problem with drainage somwehere. Sadly this would put us off staying in the property again.

The carpets in the lounge are very heavily stained, they smell very much of wet dog and this is the smell throughout the kitchen / lounge area.

The location of the property was great - it was only a few minutes walk into Whitby. The property was good for a bigger group but unfortunately the decor was a bit tired and it wasn’t very clean when we arrived. Host and Stay responded quickly to issues when I raised them but it would have been nice if the property itself was in a better condition. There was a strange smell in the en suite bathroom below the kitchen which didn’t go away even when we aired out the room.

A lovely house with great views of the harbour.

It was my mums 70th birthday
Not up-to scratch
Property run down.
Dirty with cobwebs
Downstairs bathroom moist / smell
Lots of steps up and down to get into Whitby
Only room for 1 car / said two spaces on description

Lovely property very central and great facilities. Family thoroughly enjoyed the house and area.

It was a great place to stay!

Spacious .. nice kitchen/dining area .. nice view from balcony .. would book again

Everything was really good

Good place to stay, very clean with lovely views and location

It was comfortable and convenient for the town centre.

A lot of stairs in the property for anyone with mobility issues. Also uphill from the town but not a problem for fully mobile people.

This property was beautiful. Perfectly placed for our needs. We will definitely be going back there with friends and family and will recommend to everyone xX

Beautiful, clean house. Really easy to find, breathtaking views of the harbour, we all very much enjoyed our morning cuppa’s out on the balcony.
Would definitely stay again.

Had a great stay at Harbour View House. Location is perfect for exploring Whitby and surrounding areas. With off road parking removing parking fears, stunning views of the harbour, all home comforts met and space to stretch out as a family, we would recommend the accommodation to others and likeky look to return when visiting the area.

Super find. Close to the harbour.

The location was great both for being near the centre but also as we have family in the area.

Had a major incident with an unsafe and incorrectly fitted large vertical radiator in the bathroom. The radiator fell after hanging a towel on it whilst my children were in the bathroom. Luckily it was a near miss and never hurt anyone. The weight and height it fell could of easily killed one of my young children. After complaining the responses and communication from Host and Stay was poor to say the least. We had no hot water for a couple of days, which was the first day and second until 4pm). We also complained the second we walked in due to how dirty it was. We have had to settle with 20% refund from our holiday which I think is extremely poor but given how long this has dragged out we had no other choice. The radiator was affixed to a hollow plasterboard wall with no stud fixings and sealant was used to hold it in place. An accident which was inevitable. The maintenance team could not put the radiator back on the wall at the time due to how unsafe it was.

Property very well located to the harbour and a very short walk from the town centre
The house was very clean and well looked after
Very good morning and evening views from the balcony
Would stay here again and probably my go to property for the family

Location was perfect

Little expensive as in the end only 5 of us as rest of family couldn’t make it but better than hotel rooms. Would have been excellent value for original 9 of us.

Great house. Fab location. Comfortable beds. Gorgeous view from the balcony.

The property would benefit from a few minor cosmetic upgrades in places but otherwise fantastic.

spacious, lovely views. well stocked kitchen, great communal areas to enjoy the views. quiet.

house was very clean but not spotless.

We had a fantastic stay at Harbour View House. The property was well equipped, clean but best of all it was just 5 minutes walk to the centre of Whitby. The harbour views are spectacular.

Great location, balcony and terrace and view. Good facilities and basic tea/coffee supplies. Nicely furnished and comfortable. You can easily walk down to town, path is steep so some might struggle walking back up. Plenty of white fluffy towels and crisp white bedding.

If using the upstairs bedrooms, you have to go downstairs for the bathroom. Would have preferred an 11am checkout. Personally found the large bed in the downstairs bedroom uncomfortable so switched to one of the other beds which was fine. Would benefit from a grab handle in the walk in shower.

Great location with stunning views of Whitby. This was my second visit and I would go again.

This is an amazing place to stay, the view over Whitby is outstanding, we spent far too long just sat on the balcony watching the world go by. Easy walk into town, off road parking for 2 cars and the kitchen is better equipped than my own, we would highly recommend.

The location was very good, a short walk into Whitby and to the Abbey.
The views were outstanding from the balcony over looking the harbour.
The size of the property was perfect for our family of 9.
The kitchen was well stocked for making meals, a good size fridge and freezer too.
Coffee maker was a nice addition as was tea and coffee.
The lounge was suitable for conversation the way it is laid out, the dining table big enough for us all to fit round.
Good showers.
I would not hesitate to book this property again.

The smell of drains in the family room bathroom downstairs is over whelming. The door has to be kept closed all the time otherwise the smell permeates to the bedroom. I noticed a lot of reviews mention this, time to get it fixed I think.
We all agreed that 10 am is too early for checkout, this gives the cleaning staff 6 hours to prepare for the next guests, where as the 9 of us did not have time to breakfast and shower plus pack to be out for 10.,even tho we were up at 8 am.

The location was very good, view was very nice.
Well equipped. Parking good.

Entrance hall was a bit off putting, needed a bit of tlc, wouldn't have taken too much to give a lick of paint.
Lots of cobwebs around ceiling in living area.
Balcony area was ideal for sitting in winter sun but lots of bird droppings on ground and on outdoor furniture.

The accommodation suited us as a family and the location was spectacular

The fact that the neighbour had scaffolding up which was in our property and we couldn't let the children play outside unless there was an adult constantly watching, and the cleanliness of the property could have closer attention paid to as half empty packet of cigarettes and a half empty packet of cigars was left from previous tenants

location. space. balcony. views

the level of cleanliness was not what we hoped for. Dishwasher not clean, cobwebs in the living room lack of bin bags. Nothing to really spoil the place but for the price would have expected better. would stay again but a little more attention to detail on the cleaning and presentation front please.

Great location, 5 minute walk into Whitby centre 10 minutes to the beach. Ideal when Whitby is busy to be away from the crowds, with outdoor space ideal for families with dogs. A fab pub just near by, the Endeavour. Would definitely stay again.

No problems

A great place in the centre of Whitby, especially if you have a dog.

Road busy outside. Parking for 2 cars only but with 9 people from different areas we had more cars and parking was tight

Lovely house!
Perfect for our family get away to Whitby. Would definitely recommend and great you can park 2 cars at the house. Thank you

Off road parking was a great help and the fitted stair gates helped to confine the dogs and toddlers.

Absolutely beautiful views of the harbour, near the Abbey & parking for 2 cars.

There were a lot of stairs which could have been a problem for some people. Don’t remember this being pointed out in the description of the property.

Property was very clean and everything on hand making a superb break for the family

The outside bin was overflowing and bottles left on the drive from the previous occupants.
The shower on the second level was hard to control making it dangerous for trying to regulate and also low water pressure. This is a note for if future occupants put children in.

absolutely fantastic views from the balconies.

not a criticism but if you’ve got bad knees the stairs in the house might be a problem for you.

Lovely house in a great location. Stunning views of Whitby.

amazing location, comfortable beds amazing house, clean and cosy

Brilliant location great space at the house

Perfect location, within a few minutes walk of shops, pubs, restaurants and an amazing view over the harbour

The view was amazing. The location was great. There was direct access from the lower floor balcony (via stairs) to the road that goes directly to the town centre. The house was clean and lovely. The heating system worked without a problem. The living room TV was curved and big with a really good picture quality.
It was definitely 5 out of 5 for me.

great location . beautiful views loved everything about it .

Location , views , beds

The property is spread over 4 floors which would be helpful to before hand , the lower ground floor bathroom smelt of the drain most of the time.

beautifully decorated & furnished. Comfy beds, parking for 2 cars on premises

nothing

Lovely house, really clean and a short walk into Whitby although very steep hill (something to be mindful of if you have prams/small children).
Great hosts, good communication. We would recommend trying out the Quirky Den just down the hill for craft beers in a cosy pub and the Quayside for fish and chips!

Lovely place and really like Whitby. The neighbours are a bit hostile to holiday rentals on their street. I understand as it drives up house prices, but then Whitby is now mainly a tourist town rather than a working port.

Amazing location and view from the balcony is what makes this place special. When the weather allowed, we sat and watched life on the water below- very relaxing. Everything was spotlessly clean and stair gates throughout made the whole place dog and child friendly.

House was perfect lovely and clean great views of the town .

Outstanding view's. House facilities. proximity to amenities. Balcony overlooking bay.

Bathroom on different floor to bedrooms.

Absolutely beautiful house with plenty of room for two four person families plus nan. The view from the balcony was superb and it is situated within walking distance of everything you need in Whitby (chippy, pub, abbey) I will definitely visit again.

All rooms & living area comfortable, smart & airy with plenty of room to spread out. Everything lovely & clean a real home from home but with an amazing view. Quiet location but just a 5 minute walk to the town it’s a great place to relax & unwind. Highly recommended!

The views were amazing

Floorings were not as Clean as they should have been. I imagine this was from dogs being allowed in the property

Everything was super. Hard to single out one thing. Suited us perfectly.

great location with balcony overlooking upper harbour. living space fine for nine and bedrooms comfortably accommodated our party. you must be able to manage stairs in the house and steps down to the town but you cant get the view without the height. kitchen well equipped. whitby was looking great in the sunshine and everyone from 12 to 80 enjoyed the stay. would recommend.

What an amazing place. Views are great and location perfect, just a small stroll into the centre. Absolutely loved it. House is very smart and very spacious.

good space, big garden area and nice view of harbour

downstairs shower didn’t warm up. one side of the twin bedroom lights flickered.

The house is in a great location fantastic views, very clean, has all you need .great for a large family ,the steps down to the town from the garden are a bit steep, slippery but theres are slopes just out side lots to see and do in whitby ?

There was nothing we didn't like

A beautiful house in a great location for enjoying Whitby. Steps from the rear terrace (garden) lead down to the main route into the town centre. There are a fair few steps but a great shortcut! Easily walkable to centre in about 10mins or less. House had all the amenities you need, including dishwasher, washing machine, sky tv, etc. plenty of sofa space for our family of 7. Beds and bedding were excellent quality and comfortable. The en-suite shower was fantastic! There are four floors but depending on which bedroom you have you only really need to climb two levels. I would thoroughly recommend and would definitely go back.

great location and lovely accommodation

Good location and general layout. Cleanliness and comfortable beds

Very little hot water. Key box very tricky to deal with but I did receive a call back on request Windows and doors very draughty but it was very stormy weather
Downstairs en-suite smelt of drains after a few days. Ventilation was poor with no window

The views. Well equipped house. Parking

Difficulty opening key safe. Only one key for property.

Comfortable well equipped house in a great location. Great open plan living area with views over the harbour area. Good communication with the Management company

Everything was perfect

Fantastic accommodation. Well worth paying that little bit extra for that special occasion. Stunning views. Highly recommended.

Accurate description of the house. All instructions and communication were clear. We had plenty of space to relax and the kitchen facilities were excellent.
There were no problems experienced throughout our stay, therefore we didn’t need to make contact.
Fabulous, spot for us all to be together.
Thanks - Pauline and friends.

Lounge & kitchen area
Veiw was great

No on suites upstairs

Great location for walking into Whitby. Fantastic kitchen, dining, and living room. Superb bedroom set up/options.

Needs more recycling options (all we could think of!).

We really loved this property as did the pooches! Great views and great location. If you have anyone with mobility difficulties, they may struggle to get to the waterside without a car / taxi. Property had everything we needed.

Nothing

So homely and comfortable with all mod cons very tastefully decorated and furnished

Nothing to dislike amazing property

Great property, so handy to get down to the harbour or up to the Abbey! Great walks and we discovered the amazing low tide Whitby Beach!

Very good location, 5 mins walk to the harbour. Beautiful house, comfortable beds.
There is no toilet facilities on the top floor, so you have to walk to one floor down to the toilet during the night. This is an issue for us. Apart from this, everything was good.
Anyway we all enjoy our stay there, will come back again.

Central location and stunning views from the balcony. Very spacious for 7 people and 2 dogs. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything we needed and liked the fact that cleaning products, tea and coffee were provided (not the norm in other properties we have stayed in)

Didn’t like the metal steps down to the garden - felt a little rickety and the garden needed a good tidy up

The best part of the property is its gorgeous view over the harbour. The communications from the agent were also excellent. As an overall proposition, however, it represented very poor value for money. Kitchen equipment was not clean, double bed downstairs in the master room was actually 2 singles and the biggest issue was the accommodation was only let for 1.5 days considering check out was at 10am. We were out of the house at 09:55 and the cleaners were waiting since 09:45 which made us feel extremely rushed. Considering we paid £900 for 1.5 days, I saw little value in the overall proposition. Disappointed.

Great views of Whitby over the river Esk. Well appointed good size living area and bedrooms as described on website we enjoyed our stay overall but have the following comments 1) Needs either a second dustbin or a larger bin as we arrived on Friday to an overflowing bin from the previous occupants which wasn't emptied till Tuesday and with 9 of us stopping we soon filled it up again. 2) If you have more than 2 cars its very difficult to park within easy reach of the house 3) The family bathroom door lock is very difficult to unlock. 4) The freezer needs defrosting as you can't open the drawers easily.

Great location, brilliant Airbnb with all the facilities you’d need. Very clean and reflects the listing very well.

Everything else.

Lock on main bathroom needs attention.
Perhaps a BBQ would be great

Best views in Whitby! Fabulous house, great views from the 2 balconies and even better views from top floor bedroom.
Bottom floor bedroom suite opening onto gravel balcony/garden is magnificent, bathroom rivals any 5 star hotel. Great location in Whitby, highly recommend.

Karen C.

This is a well presented, very clean house which is a short walk from Whitby centre. We had a couple of small issues which the management company have advised they will address, e.g. broken bathroom locks. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Would 100% recommend this property! It is central to everything in Whitby. The property was spotless and the property owners are just a message away if you need anything!
The views from the balcony are amazing!
There is also 2 free parking spots on the property and free on street parking.

Great location, house exactly as described. Quiet street with good access via steps to main harbour road (Church St). Whitby still as wonderful as it was many years ago!
