Absolutely beautiful house - just how you’d expect a coastal house to be - and very well equipped. Well-located, only a 5 minute walk and you’re by the sea or heading into Whitby. Very clean and no complaints about the property. Check in was easy, and Host & Stay are very responsive & informative. The parking is at the back of the property with very narrow roads, arriving at night meant we did scrape the car - not an issue, just a heads up - as we were grateful for a place with 2 car parking spaces.

Great location in a popular holiday town. Parking was a bonus and the house had everything we needed.

Never been to Whitby before and where the cottage is. It is surrounded by alley ways, and close set houses and buildings There are no major roads near by so you can't hear traffic what so ever. Very peaceful and very close to everything you need from cafes bars the harbour and entertainment. The cottage is clean well presented and comfortable with everything you need should you want to cook for yourself. I highly recommend this for a place to stay but should you have two cars take the smallest one. Nothing to dislike. It's clean bright and comfortable and feels like a home.

Beautiful cottage, very high standard of furnishings and décor. Felt right at home immediately. Had absolutely everything we needed and more. On a quiet back street but within 5-10 minutes you were in the heart of Whitby, Loads of local takeaways and restaurants and easy reach of very large Co-op. Fantastic to have parking but the access for cars is very tight. It was doable in our Volvo XC40 but I wouldn't recommend anything bigger!

The location and parking Nothing

Alojamiento limpio y muy bien situado. El parking es de agradecer, ya que es complicado aparcar en el pueblo. Lo usamos de base para conocer los pueblos costeros y los North Yorkshire Moors. Totalmente recomendable.

Lovely cottage, great location just off Skinner Street one of the main streets in whitby. Very clean, good facilities. Seperate toilet and bathroom, no wash hand basin in toilet. Parking is good for small to medium car you might struggle with a big car. Also only key, we where 2 couples and went on seperate outings some days, nerds another key. Stayed 16th-21st June 2024.

A fantastic property in a central location but so peaceful. We loved the kitchen and it's very sociable large table. Everywhere was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Having two parking spaces in the centre of Whitby was just fantastic. Very impressed with the communication from Host and Stay especially the easy to download APP that was just for the property with all the information easy to access. Highly recommend both Mumbles Cottage and Host and Stay.

Excellent place to stay for a few nights in Whitby. Good value although the £90 cleaning fee of 3 nights - and the £10 "admin" fee for sending a security deposit - is a bit too expensive/cheeky. Especially as they are already covered through Air B&B's insurance. The walls to next door are a little thin and we could here next door chatting. But it wasn't too bad. I would recommend it - but maybe not for a family with very young children.

Great location. Easy walking distance to everything you want but also fairly quiet. Lovely little outside space too.

The house was very comfortable and homely. There was space for both our (small) cars to park, and we could easily walk to all the local amenities. Not enough equipment for six people to prepare food; no saucepans apart from the bottom of a steamer that wasn’t large enough, no kitchen scissors and no egg cups, so no boiled eggs for breakfast, which is what we’d wanted. Also, the shower tray is very large and slippery and could do with some grab rails.

This place was perfect for us - close enough to the middle of Whitby to walk everywhere but on a quiet street so we weren’t disturbed by town noise Parking can be tricky to find as it’s at the back of the house but instructions from the host were great. Host was super response and proactive.

We had a lovely break staying in the mumbles cottage. It is in such a great location for all things Whitby has to offer and there is parking for 2 cars.

Ideal location in centre of Whitby. Parking a real plus. Spacious comfortable and light, plenty of room for six. Well equipped kitchen, excellent shower. Overall, one of the best holiday cottages we have had in a while!

Extremely comfortable. Ideal central location for any part of Whitby. Very well equipped and lovely private outside space. Ideal for a quiet drink or just relaxing in the sun. Spacious kitchen with everything you would need. Appreciated the recommendations for local restaurants. Private parking is a must in Whitby so this was a definite bonus. The cottage has been furnished to a high degree and really cosy. Would certainly recommend to anyone.

Lovely little cottage-type house. Pretty much the centre of Whitby, walking distance to everything you'd need. Easy to find - although parking is around the back, and the streets leading to the parking space are very narrow (for reference, we managed to get an Audi Q3 in and parked, but I wouldn't be confident with anything bigger). Acceptably clean, although given that you pay a cleaning fee on top of the regular fee, I would've expected things to be immaculate, which they weren't. Nothing to complain about, but another run around with a hoover and duster wouldn't have gone amiss. Toilets very small - not a problem for us, but genuinely if you're a bigger than average you might have trouble getting in and shutting the door! Shower lovely and big. Kitchen more than adequate and well stocked with essentials. Appreciate the tea, coffee and milk left for us. Overall v good stay, and would stay again.

A lovely few days in Whitby. The location is in a lovely secluded spot with the benefit of off-street parking and is just 5 minutes from the waterfront. House is clean, tidy, well equipped and has plenty of space. Would definitely recommend and come back!

The cottage was beautifully furnished with lots of cool seaside features and very clean. Great location, with a bakery on the doorstep and the beach and fish and chips galore within a stone’s throw. We loved our first trip to Whitby- the Abbey, microbreweries everywhere, romantic windy streets and interesting shops. Only stress was finding the cottage and manoeuvring a big car through narrow streets, so make sure you read the instructions in the guidebook before you come!
