Property Details

The Space
Sleeping up to four guests, Park Place Apartment is a homely apartment with plenty of charm.

You’ll find a snug, traditionally furnished living and dining room. With a comfy brown sofa, matching armchair and another feature chair, along with a flat screen Smart TV with Freeview, the living room is the ideal spot to relax with your loved ones. Spacious in design, the wooden dining table boasts four cushioned chairs to ensure that all guests are catered for.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering stays so you’ll have everything you could need to prepare meals easily throughout your stay at Park Place Apartment including an oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer.

Head back out onto the hallway, and you’ll then find two bedrooms and a separate WC.

The master bedroom features a double bed with crisp bed linens and a pink colour scheme with access into an ensuite bathroom. Light and well-equipped, the ensuite has a bathtub with an overhead shower, WC and wash basin.

You’ll also find a walk in shower sharing the space here.

The second bedroom has two single beds. You will also find a walk-in shower and a vanity unit for your convenience.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Located on Bagdale, Park Place Apartment is close to the centre of Whitby and the Harbour, both of which are just a few minutes' walk away. In the town centre, you'll find convenient supermarkets (Co-op & Heron Foods).

The area is famous for the quality of its fish and chip restaurants, and there are plenty of places where you can sink your teeth into a fresh catch. When you fancy a drink, you’ll find a variety of bars as well as pubs and shops in the local area.

Whitby is also famous for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’. You’ll find plenty of sites near the apartment with historic interest relating to the story. The main inspiration can be found at the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey.

Other places close by that are well worth a visit include Flowergate and Pannett Park which can be seen from the apartment.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around
You don’t need to have a car to enjoy staying at Park Place Apartment as it’s such a short walk to the town centre, Whitby harbour and to the train station. Villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Beautifully presented and decorated and very well equipped, particularly the kitchen equipment and tableware. Loved the Denby tableware. Both bedrooms were of a good size with plenty of clothes storage space. Lounge with dining area very large and spacious and loved the large landing/quiet area with comfortable chair and footstool. Very clean and fresh, bedding crisp and white and lovely soft towels.<br/><br/>Absolutely nothing to dislike other than possibly outside steps to house, then 2 x stairs to apartment but really not complaining about that

Lovely, spotless accommodation. You can tell the owners really take pride in their property and we felt right at home. Spotlessly clean with everything you need. Bonus was two bedrooms with their own shower/bath. Quite a few stairs so be aware if you struggle with mobility etc. Will definitely return!

Firstly this spacious apartment was located in an excellent area of Whitby. It was quiet, yet a 6 min walk into the town and bus station and there is a bus stop right outside the apartment. <br/>The facilities in the apartment we're excellent, Bob and Jean have though of everything. The decor and crockery and fresh white linen we're a lovely touch. Including a thoughtful bottle of prosecco.<br/>It was very clean and comfortable throughout.<br/><br/>Feather duvets and feathers cushions (many people, including myself are allergic)<br/><br/>The arrival and leaving times.<br/>And hour either side might be a little better.<br/>But fully appreciate the reasons.

The apartment looks fab! Wonderfully decorated with some quirky and interesting items. The lounge in particular is one of the nicest we'd stayed in, with a big comfy sofa and a decent sized TV in particular worth mentioning. Four people can sit in comfort in and all see the TV (which often isn't the case with rental accommodation). The whole apartment is very well equipped and the bedrooms are clean and comfy. Location is good as it is an easy 5 minute walk into the town centre.<br/><br/>The initial main frustration was with parking. 20 minutes are allowed for loading / unloading out the front on the double yellow lines for but you have to park elsewhere for the rest of the time. If you know where to park this isn't such a big issue and I wish the onwers had provided some suggestions for this ahead of time. When we arrived we parked down by the harbour off Langbourne Road in a paid car park (there are actually two - one small and one large). Both are about a 5-6 minute walk. The 2nd and 3rd nights we parked on Downdinner Hill and Arundel Place - both of which where free street parking and a 2 minute walk from the apartment. <br/>In terms of the apartment generally we really liked it but a couple of minor quirks are worth pointing out. First, the slant in the ceiling in the main ensuite made it awkward for taller people (ie. 6 ft+) to get in the shower and then have to stoop a bit to get under the shower head. The shower in the second bedroom's ensuite is better for taller people. Second, due to the slant and lack of useable mirror in the main ensuite it is bot possible to shave in there. Again the basin and and mirror in the second bedroom is the only option for that. Also worth mentioning that the kitchen is very well equiped and looks great though is small and is really a one-person kitchen. <br/>Finally, one gripe is that whilst the duvets provided were soft and very nice they were completely OTT for summer and we ended up sleeping under the duvet covers. It would have been nice if there were wither some lighter summer duvets or blankets that we could've used.

Wunderschöne Einrichtung, geschmackvoll und gemütlich. <br/>Die unzähligen Mail der Verwaltung gaben wirklich jede Menge Hinweise, waren aber irgendwann auch lästig. Müsste man vielleicht mal alles in einer mail zusammenfassen.<br/><br/>Die Straße vor dem Haus diente des öfteren als Rennstrecke für Motorräder. Auch bei geschlossenen Fenstern leider keine Ruhe. Eines der Schlafzimmer lag glücklicherweise nach hinten zum Hof. Das andere leider nicht.<br/>Bei unserer Ankunft wollten wir unser Auto kurz auf dem Nachbargrundstück zum Entladen abstellen. Die Bewohnerin des Nachbarhauses kam wutentbrannt auf uns zu und drohte gleich mit Polizei, wenn wir ihr Grundstück nicht verlassen. Überall stehen Schilder, die keinen offiziellen Charakter hatten, die mit Geldbuße und Abschleppen drohten. Alternative zum Entladen leider nur verkehrswidrig auf dem doppelten gelben Streifen und Bushaltestelle vor dem Haus. Unser PKW stand dann eine viertel Stunde entfernt sicher am Altenheim. <br/>Unschöne Situation im URLAUB.

The apartment is in a great location making visiting Whitby and the surrounding area really easy. The apartment itself feels loved and cared for. It is exceptionally clean, bright, cosy and well equipped and the everything from the bedlinen to the crockery and cutlery are of a high quality. <br/>Communication from the host was excellent and we were offered an earlier check in time. <br/>We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the apartment or staying here again!<br/><br/>There is no dedicated parking for the apartment. Street parking is available nearby but it did mean a bit of driving around to find a free spot. Definitely not a big issue though!
