Riverrun is a cosy dog friendly apartment located in the seaside town of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. Sleeping up to five guests, this beautifully presented first floor apartment has everything you could need for a relaxing retreat on the coast. With two spacious bedrooms and an open plan living, kitchen and dining room complete with modern appliances, Riverrun is perfect for the whole family.

The Space
With neutral tones and a large window overlooking the River Esk, the living room has a modern, yet cosy feel. The perfect place to retreat to after a day of exploring the local area, you can enjoy a night in with your loved ones in this space. Relax on the comfy sofa and turn on the LCD Freeview TV. You can also bring your favourite films with you and watch them on the DVD player.
Sharing the space is the kitchen and dining area where you'll find another modernly decorated space. Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, the kitchen features all the appliances you could need including a dishwasher. From crockery and cutlery to teapots and tumblers, the apartment has everything you could need.
The dining area is the ideal spot for family meals and sociable gatherings with friends. Located directly next to the kitchen area, you can keep conversations going as you cook.
Home to a comfortable king size bed with luxury white bed linen, you’ll certainly enjoy your sleep in the master bedroom at Riverrun. There is plenty of room for storage with a wardrobe and bedside drawers.
The second bedroom has been designed to be comfortable for everyone. The room has a double bed, along with a separate single bed which suits all parties from couples to families.
The bathroom has been tastefully decorated to be both modern yet still practical. With a large walk-in shower, wash basin and WC, this space has everything you could need. Towels and complementary toiletries are provided so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own.
Neighborhood
Riverrun is located on the east side of Whitby, so you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs in abundance a short distance away.
It’s on the East bank where you’ll find narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the West side of town where you’ll be able to revel in the nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland, some of which can be explored just a short distance away from Riverrun. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around
You’ll find restaurants, pubs and shops just in a short walk from Riverrun.
Whitby train station is located in the centre of town so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 and X94 travel along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Very cute flat, perfect for a romantic getaway. The living room with TV and cozy couch was a great feature for snuggling up as nights get darker. The kitchen provided all the cooking utensils and pans we needed to cook meals. Warm throughout flat and clean.<br/><br/>The beds could have been more comfy with thicker mattress toppers.

Lovely property in a brilliant location, great views across the river Esk and to the Abbey. 15 minute walk on the flat to the centre of Whitby. Clear instructions for arrival and key location.<br/><br/>Cleanliness of the apartment could have been better in particular the mirrors and kitchen equipment. Definitely needs a "clutter" clear out as mentioned in a previous review, there's simply too much stuff which isn't required. A smart tv wouldn't be asking too much in this day and age surely. Well they did ask what we didn't like.

Location facing the river. Comfortable bedrooms. Kitchen well stocked with crockery, glasses & utensils, plus large electrical goods. Hot water in the shower.<br/><br/>No tumble drier - the list said there was one. <br/>Another toilet would have been good.

Clean large apartment. Great location close to Whitby centre but still nice and peaceful. Lovely views of the estuary and the steam train passing. Easy enough with the dogs. Would return again.<br/><br/>Would of liked a clearer note about how to get the hot water on in the property. Maybe a more modern bigger TV. But I'm probably being picky.

Fantastic location view from the window . The apartment is very nice and easy to find<br/><br/>Cleanliness was bad. Dirty towels left on the bathroom floor Dirty towel left on the bedroom door. Plates and cutlery were still on the side of the sink they had not been put into their drawers etc. <br/>very little storage space in the double bedroom as the wardrobe was over half full of trunk, bedlinen and wash basket

We enjoyed having a view of the river. A quiet location. About 10 minutes walk to the old cobbled streets. A well equipped apartment.<br/><br/>Check-in could only be arranged after registering with a third party website for a refundable deposit plus a non-refundable £10. This was not made clear in the original Booking.com information. There were a few anxious phone calls at the last minute when we hadn't received check-in information.

Riverrun is in an ideal location 5 minute walk to the main harbour bars and restaurants. The property has everything you need for your stay and the rooms are nice and large.<br/><br/>Nothing

Overall the accommodation was really nice. The apartment had fabulous views of the river and harbour. Unfortunately some of the local children were vandalising boats and setting fires to areas of the town, which made some people feel a bit uneasy about leaving their cars in the vicinity.

Apartment was very well furnished, clean and tidy and the facilities were good. No problems accommodating our cocker spaniel. Short walk to the centre of Whitby. Lovely views over the marina.<br/><br/>The king-sized bed was too firm for us, but that's personal preference.<br/><br/>The lock box outside wasn't marked with the flat number and neither were the other seven lock boxes, so finding the right one was ?rial and error.
