Nothing<br/><br/>My family and i have not the time to list everything that is wrong with this property it is that basic and bad but here are a few. <br/>Underneath a pub not an ideal place for accomodation. <br/>Tv's don't work properly and this has been noted in the guest book for a long time and the streaming through talk talk router is very poor. <br/>The bathroom is shocking to the extent that the extractor fan blows inwards not outwards. <br/>The second bedroom has no windows and is according to our children like sleeping in a cupboard,the beds are like sleeping on the floor they are that firm and the master bed is totally the other way it is way too soft. <br/>Make sure you don't have too much luggage as it is a reasonable walk from the nearest car park which costs £10.80 a day and the walk along the passageway that leads under and between buildings is ok if your not clostrophobic. <br/>These are a few points to take into cosideration before booking this place and not the full list.

These ‘cleaners’ only wiped down sinks and took their rubbish and sewing bits. Did NOT clean anything else. <br/>The customer support was no help, rather dismissive and failed to resolve the situation.

Absolutely fantastic - perfect once we found it.<br/><br/>Issue s with finding it, no working map and inadequate instructions to find it. Address isn’t good enough and the name is the safe haven - not the haven. It took us nearly 2 hours to find and even the locals couldn’t help us.

A great place to stay in the heart of the town. Just off Church Street so handy for popping back anytime to drop off shopping or needing the loo etc. Ideal location for anyone.<br/>it's an old building so expect low ceilings but once you get used to that you can't fault the place. Cosy, warm and with views to die for. Waking up with the sound of waves lapping the wall is the best. <br/>Would stay again for sure. <br/>Thank you

Right in the heart of the old town. The double bedroom has the same great harbour view as the lounge, so that you can sit in the super-comfy bed and watch the fishing boats come in.<br/><br/>When we arrived, we could hardly see through the very dirty windows. We had to clean them to appreciate the view!<br/>The twin room has no window and smelt musty.<br/>No wall mirror in the bathroom.<br/>At the time of booking, we were asked for £200 damage deposit, which the agents hold onto for months, and then charge a £10 fee to return it! Not acceptable in this day and age. They should have their own damage insurance. Also, this charge is not apparent on Booking.com

Location in the heart of Whitby. Comfy bed and harbour views.<br/><br/>Dirty windows, spoilt view. Could do with night light on internal stairs for bathroom. Property is below The Board Inn, not specified, so noisy on day departing (lucky for us pub closed other days so quieter) Correspondence from 'host and stay' too much. Should make it clearer on listing re damage deposit or waiver fees and terms.

Udsigten<br/><br/>Det var meget besværligt at finde og meget besværligt at komme frem til døren, med oppakning. Det var svært at få varmet op. På det lille værelse burde sengene fornyes. Ovnen trænger til at blive skilt ad og vasket ordentligt af. Køkkenet er fint, men mangler lidt fornyelse. Stegepande og knive der Jan skære

Great place for views and the amenities. <br/>You don’t realise you’re below a pub which is good. Bed was comfortable and smart tv. <br/>The directions weren’t the best but finally got in. There’s a fee for damage which always ruins it a bit for me. <br/>Parking was a let down as it cost £27 to park for 3 days. This would help if the owners could get a parking permit for guests, which I’ve had before in Whitby. <br/>Overall nice place and the views were great.

Perfect location lovely accommodation and has fantastic views

The property was spotlessly clean and was spacious. The view from the main bedroom and living room window is beautiful - overlooks the harbour (picture attached). It is located close to car parks, shops, restaurants and the Abbey.<br/><br/>The twin bedroom has a musty smell and feel. I think this is due to the age of the property and the fact it does not have a window. It was not too much of an issue with us only staying 2 nights, but I wouldn't have been happy with my children sleeping in there any longer than that. If we had booked for a week, I would have bought some air beds and put them in the living room. I do feel this issue needs to be sorted out - such a shame, as other than that, it would have been the perfect property. If it had not been for this issue, I would have scored the property higher for comfort, and given a much higher overall rating.

Outstanding views from the living room and Master bedroom.<br/><br/>Very, very difficult to find. No parking. Bath kinda tricky to get in and out of for anyone older with balance issues. Could not find the dustbins. No clothes drier and the TV did not work.

The property is to the left of the cream painted building and below the balcony of the tall brick and stone building<br/><br/>Television did not work was reported to host but issue was not resolved during the stay. <br/>Property had not been fully cleaned cob webs seen on checking on initial arrival and damp mould on shower hose had not been removed.

This was a last minute booking but wow - what a gem! Very modern and spacious and very clean. Fabulous views over the harbour. Central location but quiet. Will definitely book again. <br/>I don’t usually book apartments with no parking but there are several near by and easy to buy permit from Tourist Information which can be used at any council location in the county 24 hours. No problem at all.

The view to wake upto , clean , everything we needed & walkable to town & amenities<br/><br/>Had trouble unlocking door when arrived , took a while of wriggling in lock .<br/><br/>Would like to see recycle bin in kitchen ,needed measuring jug to make gravy & warm milk for flasks in microwave

Apartment was very nice,clean (apart from the windows)and comfortable . Lovely views of the harbour. Near the 199 steps which was a bonus.<br/><br/>Location abit out of the way and no nearby parking.

Fab location, very central, and the Safe Haven was cosy and comfortable. We loved the sea view from the lounge and bedroom window.<br/><br/>Nothing, it was a lovely place to stay.

We had to search for over an hour and ask local shop owners in order to find the place. It is hidden down an obscure alley not shown on maps.<br/><br/>The house needs a really deep clean. For me it was too dirty. There are piles of dust beside bedroom cabinets etc, windows, curtains etc are dirty, old and torn. Opening the door with the key is a struggle. We removed dozens of spiders and flies. Shelving was falling off under t.v. dining area is very dark. Poor access for anyone with mobility issues. Wheelchairs or walkers are impossible.

Perfect location. No parking for the car though. <br/>Host and Stay who manage the property bombarded me with emails, such as a 'polite' reminder, which was definitely not needed, to vacate the property the next morning by 10am or there would be an additional fee to pay. Very passive aggressive and I'm a responsible adult who has always managed to check out of poroperties in a timely manner, without a reminder!!!! I will never book a property managed by Host and Stay again!!!<br/><br/>Host and Stay!!!! Will never book another property that they manage again!!

Excellent cosy little place with perfect sea views! In the middle of town but once in the property you wouldn’t know it. It’s so quiet. Listening to the sound of the ocean is heaven!<br/><br/>There is a strong need for new mattresses! That’s my only dislike about the property.

Loved the view from the front of the property. Lovely large spaces and lots of room. All equipment and utilities that could be needed were available and all needs catered for.<br/><br/>There wasn't anything we didn't like.

We've had a great 3 days in Whitby. Safe Haven has been such a find. It was exactly what we wanted. Lovely house with great views. Had everything we needed and such a great location. We will definitely be back in the future and would highly recommend Safe Haven to any other Airbnb-ers thinking of a stay in Whitby. Also found Host&Stay really easy to work with eg all comms were useful and timely. It's been a ball. Many thanks to all involved. Forbes & Jacquie :-)

We told the company that my husband was disabled in a wheelchair we need a car park and no steps

Lovely location and character property with super views<br/><br/>The twin bedroom has no window and is dull, smells damp and although there is a fan in the room it was tough sleeping in this room. The property is under a pub and is noisy at times.

Once you find the property it’s in a great location, quiet with a view over the harbour. The property is lovely with character.<br/><br/>The number of emails related to the booking is ridiculous, well over 20, it’s like a spam campaign ! <br/>Finding the property was very difficult, clear directions would be better than a map link, which didn’t narrow it down sufficiently. We asked locals and eventually a kind chap from the pub showed us a pedestrian gate (which was closed) leading to a side alley, it looked like a private entrance, but in actual fact led to a number of rental properties.

Loved the location, beautiful little bolt hole. Beds really comfortable, got everything we needed, would definately stay there again.<br/><br/>We arrived early, but not given any indication of address or lock box number. Telephoned Host and Stay and they would not give me details until I had paid the deposit. Didnt realise I had to pay this, but ended up having to download booking.com app onto phone, fill out the deposit information and pay the deposit. Really hard to do as when I went to pay the bank needed authorisation code, which opens another screen and cancels out the information you have put in. Fustrating when you are parked quite a long way from the property lugging cases over cobbled streets and still no idea where the place is or if they are going to send the lock box number? Not sure its the hosts fault or booking.com but surely this could have been sorted prior to arrival, I have no email asking for this information prior to arriving.

my Mum & Nan visited and they both have non-stop talked about the beautiful views from the bedroom and how perfect the location is for access to the local day and night life. They will definitely be returning, and hopefully this time they'll bring me!!

The location was brilliant, right on the harbour. The facilities were lovely. Clean and comfortable.<br/><br/>Not much at all. I can only mentuon that It wasnt clear if we could use the washing machine or not. There was no instructions.

The location is great and the view of the harbour is fantastic. Brilliant to sit in bed with a cuppa watching the world go by. Lovely apartment that is well equipped. You wouldn't know you were staying under a pub, we never heard a thing!<br/><br/>One or two things need addressing like the cleaning of the windows that look out over the harbour, these were really dirty which spoilt the fantastic view of the harbour (I cleaned them myself!) More clothes hangers needed. A larger sized mirror in the bathroom. Entrance area needs tidying / painting - broken roof tiles on porch need replacing.

Great location, very clean and comfortable with amazing views across the harbour entrance and the sea. Every thing you need in the apartment, can't wait to stay there again 10/10 .

Great location overlooking the estuary. Everything provided. Very comfortable<br/><br/>It was about a 5 minute walk to the car park and you had to pay £9 fir a 24 hour stay

Having to vacate by 10:00 AM is not great especially if you’ve had alcohol the previous night this just encourages drink driving. The check in time of 16:00 is also a joke. 6 hours to clean we had cobwebs and someone’s dirty clothes in wardrobe NOT GREAT

Our two older children and my husband stayed here for three nights in August 2022... lovely higgedly piggedly ginnel revealed our holiday home... the best bit was entering the main bedroom to which had the most amazing views.. over the water... The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed. The only negative and a little worrying was bedroom two... as lovely as it was... there was no window... no escape if there was a fire.. I would worry if I had smaller children... my only gripe... The apartment was in hub of Church Street ... lots to do and see... really didn't want to leave
